Mike Quade Named Cubs Manager
Maybe Cora will get the Brewer job and take Sandberg and we can all cheer on the Brewers. The drawback on Sandberg is major league coaching experience.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
Would the Rangers Giants be the least watched world series ever. I can give you the Cincinnati Reds starting line-up from 1976 but would struggle to name the 8 starters from either of those teams.

Rick Hahn
Sandy Alderson is suppossed to take the job. This helps the Sox and in a way takes the next potential cubs president off the board.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
The consensus on sports talk radio this morning in Chicago is that Mike Martz and his magical play calling is a disaster. There is fault to go around but the Bears rushed 12 times. Olsen, Forte and the O-line are terrible at blocking. May as let Forte get destroyed as oppossed to Cutler. Looks like Cutler will have his fourth O-Coordiantor in four years next year.

The White Flame conversation with the kid was great. Especially with the kid walking away and calling him the White Flame.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) Haven't seen much SOA talk lately, maybe Im missing it somewhere but as usual I have been thoroughly enjoying it. The Gemma thing has actually better and the Jax Tara thing is good in that he does not want her to blow everything and he can see her as a way out of the MC

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) Is there really a correct answer with those group of guys? Just stick Olin in the middle and flip a coin for the other spots With an O-Line though you need to stick with something and hope it gells. At some point the evaluation process needs to end.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) Chris Williams is coming back this week, but probably moving to left guard, Omiyale stays at LT. Garza is getting benched for Edwin Williams, Webb at RT. Does Omiyale have naked photos of someone? I sure hope Tice knwos what he is doing as he is changing guys each game. Chris Williams will be at RT next week.

2010 ALCS: Rangers vs. Yankees
The fact that the Rays could not hit left handed pitching killed them. Outside of Lee I think the Yanks beat he hell out ofthe Rangers pitching. I hope the Rangers can beat up the Yanks staff. The two LCS are going to be vastly different.

ALDS: Rays vs. Rangers
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Whats missing is they can't hit. Third in runs, but 25th in average. Thats why they always get no-hit and 1-hit, they are super streaky. When they get on base, they do a great job of stealing bases, taking extra bases, etc. But they can easily be shut down. Batted .247 as a team and with Longoria ailing and facing two lefties.......the Rangers hitting is just to good to be held down. This is the same as the Yanks/Twins where the Rays are deeper 1-25 than the Rangers but Lee is a postseason god right now and the Rays are not getting the match-ups they needed. I think the Rays can still come back.

ALDS: Twins vs. Yankees
An expert on the radio said it best, the Twins are built to win the regular season but are not suited for the playoffs while the White Sox were better suited for the playoffs especially this year. The Twins pitchers are good at grinding out regular season games but do not hold up in the playoffs. The way the expert put it, made much more sense to me than how I stated it.

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
How does Crawford's defense help as a CF. Moving him to CF and Rios to RF may be good or bad. I'd like to also see how Crawford projects as a RF although he would be back in LF after next year.

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
Losing Quentin and Konerko and replacing them with Crawford does not sound like a good idea. I love the people that say the White Sox are cheap yet they can have a $100M while being cheap. Do they want Crawford, I am sure they do. Will they overpay to get him, no. Will Sox fans be pissed that they did not overpay, yes. I am really glad they did not sign Hunter, Fukodome and Alphonso Soriano, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) We simply can't get FA quality players. We lost out on Tori Hunter, Miguel Cabrera, Chone Figgins, Matsuai, even an aging Vladimir Guerrero. Hunter and Figgins are terrible contracts that I am glad the Sox did not get. Cabrera was never a freee agent, Matsui, Guerrero and Damon may have been better options than what they had but Thome would have been the best of the four but they did not fit a philosophy that the Sox wanted to go with. Money had nothing to do with it as the Sox lost a whole lot more on Manny.

If Hanie can not start over Collins what was the point of getting rid of Lefeavor and not Hanie? This franchise never ceases to amaze me.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) This is an insanely uninformed post. Sure, the Pats are deep. Sure, Brandon Tate is solid. He's no f***ing Randy Moss. Pre-Moss, the Patriots' defense was good enough that they were fine with the amount of points they put up. Moss changes a gameplan and how other teams defend. He draws consistent double-teams, allowing the "little engine that could" Welker to run free all the time. The Patriots have absolutely no running attack, and their offense is going to take a HUGE hit with Moss now gone. Their defense is nowhere near good enough to consider them legitimate contenders without Moss. They basically extended a middle-finger to their fans with this move, but no one is saying it yet. When they get bounced in the first round because they can't score, they'll realize that this third round pick was not worth trading the one guy other than Brady on your offense who can be considered a true difference maker. This move was insanely dumb. PS - And PUH LEEZE with the "no receptions on Monday night crap"! The Special Teams scored so many points that passing was moot. So I am insanely uninformed by saying they will be fine yet you agree that they are deep......ok Moss is a pain in the ass and was going to do the same thing that he always does when he whines like a baby. I hate tha Pats but respect what they do and also like that they dumped that douche after they saved his career. Now we get to hear how great he and Favre are.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) And not everyone is. Heck, wasn't Jon Garland making around 10 million when contracts were given out like Donuts at an AA meeting? Jackson has more potential and his best season overall has been as good if not better than Garland's best season. Except, I didn't try to make an argument using contracts. I actually brought stats to the table in which no one really proved otherwise. And that was before last season. I digress with basketball talk in the baseball forum. It did not. I agree with you.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 10:03 AM) They crushed Miami with Moss making 0 receptions. Sure, the DB's still had to focus on Moss despite 0 catches, but I think New England's offense will do just fine. They have some nice TE's to go with Welker as well as some up and coming young wide-outs. The depth of the Pats roster speaks for itself year after year. I am sure they will be fine.

Farewell Nancy Faust
There really is something cool about it. Now we get the prerecorded stylings which I am not a fan of.

Whatever happened to Dan Evans? Remember him, he was Rick Hahn before Rick Hahn was cool. I like Hahn but do not think KW is giving up his job for him just yet.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 05:06 AM) Yup, a bit dissapointed with Gemma getting all this plot in SOA, what is she banging the producer or what! What is funny is at work I read Entertainment Weekly when I am on the can and the article about the SOA talked about how Gemma got the job. I get the feeling this show may not last long with the way it is going. I am not interested in the dramatic stylings of outlaws....I watch Desperete Housewives for this.
