Maybe now we can stop treating Wrigley Field like an entertainment mecca. It is a terrible venue that is barely able to host baseball games. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) Puke. The rest I'm sure will happen and be fine with, although I like Jimmy O's character. Maybe there will be a women's version of OZ with Gemma as the lead.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) I think St. Louis laughs in our face if we offer that because of years remaining and salary, which is why I always defend keeping Mark to the point of exhaustion. I doubt we'd get much of a return beyond salary relief (like maybe another team's equivalent of a Morel + Leesman + Infante package) so if we did it it would have to be part of something huge that would not only soften the blow of losing Mark, but also convince the fans that we had made a considerable improvement to the team in the process. It couldn't be some "let's deal Mark and spend the money on an old lefty DH and a reliever" plan. St. Louis needs to do something to make Albert sign long term.

If LeBron is on the list with Gaga how is Drew Brees not on it. Was there a bigger story as it relates to NO, the hurricane and football? I thought it was overblown but I would say he would be a tollerable choice compared to some of them. I hope the Chilean miners get it.

35th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck

I saw a special on it and I too thought it was in the earlier part of the century. I also thought it happened in January when the weather is really bad. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) I liked a few of the lines in this episode. "What a little slut!" "Yes he is." "I almost shagged my brother!" Great episode although the Alvarez storyline is pretty lame thus far but who knows the Ireland stuff has gotten pretty good.

Bruce Levine should be on the cubs payroll for all of the pr bs he spews. The cub will tell us that Casey Coleman and Cashner will get it done when in reality Marmol and Castro would be the starting point.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) I think we agree on all of that (as I already said most of it ), except the part about Jax not losing it with the priest. I don't care how distraught he or anybody is, you wouldn't touch an IRA underboss in his hideout in his home country. I agree that it is a good show but the Gemma and Tara thing are tired storylines....the boss thing interests me. Still a good show but I think it is only good for another season.

The SCORE was talking about the cub needing to trim another $10M before next year. The Dunn and Cliff Lee talks are nonsense. Going to be a long couple of years up there.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Is anyone else getting a little lost with the SOA storyline? I know they've explained who's doing what and why but I'm still not sure I get it. It seems like everyone is trying to kill/double-cross everyone else. Here is what I think; The Irish are trying to move Jimmy out but he has enough Irish support that it will not be that easy. SAMCRO is brought in to do the job using Abel as the pawn. Charming SAMCRO wants Jimmy dead but the the Belfast SMACRO work with Jimmy thus the issue and why the groups are divided. Gemma's first husband and Clay's predessecor had a thing with the bird from the IRA thus there is a bond between Jax and the IRA in that but Gemma wants no part of any of this crap but she needs to play along. The Belfast / Jimmy connection is really only two guys whose names escape me but the long term cool thing and a possible extension fo the show could be Chibs hanging in with Belfast andthe IRA. The Hale thing is gettting good back in old Charming. Hopefully SAMCRO starts kicking some ass again.

They will pick up that Grant fellow and cut him two weeks later but yet will not a take a flyer here?????? Fools, all of them. -
He is facing guys that have for the most part just played a whole season and he would probably be a little over matched if he played the whole year as well.

I administer an FSA and it is a great benefit. I put away $2,000 and it costs the company $50 to pay an administrator the plan for the year per employee. I have an FSA card that is used like a credit card and covers all costs I have. I submit to receitps. Our plan year runs from 10/1-9/30. I increased my benefit and will be stocking up on meds come December. All you have to do is go to the doctor for a wellness visit and get him/her to write you script for these and you are fine. A pain in the ass but easily done.

I do not know how to react to SOA right now. It is moving and there is plenty of action but it is getting frustratingly dragged out with the Abel thing. I just want them to get the kid and go after Jimmy...the kid thing is getting tiring.

The hatred for the Heat is great for ESPN and the NBA. I almost tuned into the game last night.

Aren't the Texas v. NY taxes vastly different?

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) http://www.publiusforum.com/2010/10/13/old...eaten-violence/ Jay Levine "deck" somebody??? haha Who was that, it was pure gold. Gotta love politics where Rahm is a fresh start.....ugh. -
Mike Quade is there to take his lumps for a couple of years while the team is bad and cutting payroll and go from there. The Cards and Reds will make that division tougher than it has been and who knows about the Brewers, Astros and Pira....well we know the pirates are going to suck.
-
Maybe Cora will get the Brewer job and take Sandberg and we can all cheer on the Brewers. The drawback on Sandberg is major league coaching experience.
-
Would the Rangers Giants be the least watched world series ever. I can give you the Cincinnati Reds starting line-up from 1976 but would struggle to name the 8 starters from either of those teams.
-
Sandy Alderson is suppossed to take the job. This helps the Sox and in a way takes the next potential cubs president off the board.

The consensus on sports talk radio this morning in Chicago is that Mike Martz and his magical play calling is a disaster. There is fault to go around but the Bears rushed 12 times. Olsen, Forte and the O-line are terrible at blocking. May as let Forte get destroyed as oppossed to Cutler. Looks like Cutler will have his fourth O-Coordiantor in four years next year. -
The White Flame conversation with the kid was great. Especially with the kid walking away and calling him the White Flame.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) Haven't seen much SOA talk lately, maybe Im missing it somewhere but as usual I have been thoroughly enjoying it. The Gemma thing has actually better and the Jax Tara thing is good in that he does not want her to blow everything and he can see her as a way out of the MC

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) Is there really a correct answer with those group of guys? Just stick Olin in the middle and flip a coin for the other spots With an O-Line though you need to stick with something and hope it gells. At some point the evaluation process needs to end.
