  1. The thing that is hurting the cubs is that the resale is not what it used to be so all of those brokers that bought season tickets are being killed. The cubs also scalp their own tickets often. There are plenty of empty seats out there.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) I still can't believe I lost that case. Nothing but a bout of crabs and regret after that weekend. you regret nothing.
  3. On paper the Sox should walk away with this one rather easily.......I said the same thing on Friday........ The offense is back to killing this team with the help of giving outs away.
  4. I have been away most of the weekend but my feeling was that this series would not be good. The O's on paper are decent. Millwood and Guthrie can win games and their line-up always gives the Sox fits. My main concern is that he Sox turn it around at home but they have to play better on the road. The negativity in general comes from the fact that fans tasted the World Series and a nice .500 record doesn't do it anymore.
  5. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) LOL GTFO!! Did Ozzie really say this? Yes this was back in Sean Tracy days with Vicente Padilla and the Rangers head hunting for the Sox. Guillen was 100% correct as far as I could tell.
  6. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) If we can't win this series, let alone split, this series with the Twins next, this would be a huge disappointment. BTW, Ozzie has changed his opinion on Buck. Why it was correct as far as I could tell.
  7. Can somebody post he splits for Jenks during the day v. night. He seems to blow a ton of day game saves.
  8. Here is why Kotsay is still here. Last year on Septemeber 8th or thereabout the White Sox were ahead of the Twins. The Twins made the playoffs. Peavy and Rios were here and availaable to add to the team yet for whatever the reason things did not work out and the Twins went to the playoffs. Kotsay stuck around and Dye is gone. 2008 Swisher has a year not nearly as bad as Kotsay yet he is given away at the end of the year. Performance is not all that matters when Guillen is the manager. You may not like it but it seems to work. They are winning and Guillen says f*** you. Let's also look at 2006. Anderson was adding more to that team then Kotsya is now and was adding more than Mackowiak was in 2006...how'd that end up. How about Griffey over Anderson in 2008. The best names on paper are not the best names for Guillen's roster....again Ozzie says, f*** you! We need to all live with it......Guillen says he did not know Edwin Jackson threw that hard........sigh....
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Love watching Matt Capps pitch he lived in the NL on s***ty teams also i agree with 1000% on your post about the reliever starting an inning. Guillen screws this up often Jackson looked to be pitching to a plan which may work wonderfully
  10. I am working and popping in and out of the game. Torres savedthe pen. Linebrink getting more work in today than he has in the last month and doing well. Detroit is terrible right now. That lineup is abysmal.
  11. for f***'s sake why does he still get to bat?
  12. Ya not sweeping the Cards a week or so back ended the cubs hope of the post season.
  13. Is Edwin Jackson on the 25 man roster? If not, Torres replaces Harrell and then Jackson replaces Torres.
  14. Dayan will go down when Teahen comes back so he can play everyday in AAA. He will be back on Sept. 1 and never see AAA again. On White Sox Weekly they talked about Lillibridge and Walker working all winter in California to get him to become the player Guillen wants. When he showed this in AAA he was called up. Interesting stuff.
  15. Has he had more than the one incident and was it as violent as it is being portrayed here? I thought there was an incident but did he beat the crap of her or was there an altercation? This is the street corner in Boston right? If Hudson goes, it has to be for a pitcher.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Markakis would be huge. McPhail is the current version of Chuck LeMar. Not worth dealing with him as he is asking for the world. I would take both guys by the way. What sucks is the Orioles are getting healthy in time to play the Sox. Millwood, Gutherie and Roberts all back.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:19 AM) I think he means from the DL Yes I thought the Lucy comment made it obvious. I also gotta say Eric Threets is looking pretty impressive. Has anyone ever hit agaisnt a pitcher with all of those tatoos on their arms? If so, are they a distracting?
  18. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) Hudson could've probably landed an Oswalt, Haren-type.. Jackson is a bottom of the barrel type, especially with that contract Happ is better than Hudson, there were three other prospects, more cash and a no trade clause.
  19. Daniel Hudson might become Edwin Jackson. You know who Hudson reminds me of....that Pauley fellow that pitched for the M's last night. As shaky as Jackson has been this year he still has a track record as a proven #4 guy which is what the Sox need who can if his stuff is right throw a no hitter, however unimpressive that no hitter may be. The Twins mortgaged a lot more on Matt Capps. You also have the Coop thing and the fact that Jackson is under contract you could see a Danks for Fielder move in the off season if Danks is hell bent on free agency.
  20. Can't we all agree that Castro should be seeing more playing time? Is he not part of the chemistry with the b****in beard and all? Also the surge as I like ot call it, began about the time of his arrival no? Ramon sorry for thinking Donny Lucy was better than you. Carry on, Jenks Heat
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Sept 2 2006 was the last time Jenks pitched a perfect save inning with 3 'K. Sergio Santos recorded his sixth consecutive scoreless appearance, Matt Thornton made his 17th consecutive scoreless appearance and J.J. Putz extended his White Sox record to 27 scoreless appearances. That is sick
  22. Or maybe he told Cooper to get lost I am throwing hard. Jason he appeared to be throwing more a of a slider and not the big curve but I could be wrong. he had something nice that was moving at around 92 Whatever the case if that Bobby shows up nightly and Putz has his stuff......ouch I would still like to know his day/night splits
