QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) If he was ranked as 4th round talent why didn't anybody else draft him earlier? That is guillen's point. -

Pierre maguire was on the SCORE this morning and he was telling how great Scotty Bowman is and that his influence was seen mightily in Game 5 changes. -

The point of the article was that Guillen's kid was ranked as 4th round talent while KW's kid barley cracked a top ten on two teams but was taken in the 5th round. KW's kid was a college kid who had no options and got $175K Guillen's kid it sounds like was offered $50K Sounds like other org's passed on Guillen's kid due to his signability and the relationship with the Sox and the Sox passed on him because of their tenuous relationship with his father. Personally it sounds to me like Guillen's kid got screwed. -

I was watching the original Bad News Bears with my kids and it ended with the Raburn debacle how appropriate. I think Thorton is going through a slight dead arm or something. -

QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) Freddy is pitching for a trade. He has put together a decent season. Minus a few games where he was garbage he has been a very good 5th starter for us. Given his cheap salary, I could definetly see him traded to a team needing a cheap 5th starter. Put him in a pitchers park or in the NL he could provide alot of value for a team. We could maybe even get back a so-so prospect for him. Freddy will stay with the Sox as long as Guillen is here. He is cheap and gives you innings they will not get anything better back in return. -
If the Hawks win Wednesday the parade/ceremony should be Friday....if they win the cup Wed or Fri it should make an appearence at wrigley which would generate excitment.

In reality the game was over when the Hartnell thing happened which is why I think it was glossed over. If that was to tie or take the lead I think thre would have been a bigger discussion. I also was not sure why Edzo and Pierre did not even bring it up. -
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Really guys? I was away from the internet and local media for about 3 days and even went a little back in the thread to see if I missed something and it's like a page of unclever slams that I made a mistake that I apologized for a few posts later? Awesome. I honestly did not know this so thank you. This is why I hate the catch all threads. Yes I know we defeated the English to gain our independence. I thought it was a rumor.

You can say what you want but there is no bigger or more passionate Sox fan. That was a good special. It is amazing that he is older than Santo.

On a team by team basis the variables are too great. The Yankees beating the Phillies is not the same as the Cardinals beating the Royals. Look at the pitchers that have changed leagues. I would say Halladay, Vazquez, Peavy, Silva, etc. and compare the change in ERA from last year to this.

I had to listen to the first 12 minutes on the radio. Widerman (sp?) is awesome. Troy Murray said McCreary is have a terrible series. Widerman's response, "you played the game and broke bones doing it so you can say that.......and I agree with you." Great game. Pronger was on the ice for six goals and in the box for another. As far as a fan is concerned that was a great game and this is a great series. If called correctly the Hawks are much more fluid. There were plenty of missed calls. I like that they called the elbow to Kopecky's head although I thought it should have been a harsher penalty but I am not sure what it could have been. That was a dirty play. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) The Sox are 4-19 in the game after a win this season. and one of those win was after they had won two games in a row thus they are 3-19 the game after they win a single game. P

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 04:20 PM) You actually could not be more wrong. His splits are: 11.25 ERA in day games, 1.50 ERA in night games. 2.75 WHIP in day games, 1.33 in night games. Huh that would make me 100% correct -

Is it me but doesn't Jenks seem to blow saves during the day...the Pirates and Jays come to mind as the two more recent bad ones ..... day games and the Orioles seem to get him
