  1. I believe the climate of Arizona rendered all evaluation of Haeger moot. I also am a backer of the conspiracy theory that McCarthy was traded to create and opening for Haegar. The Sox brass knew that Spring Training would not be pretty for him and if they wanted him over McCarthy there would be no justification for it based on numbers if McCarthy pitched well. I think they are taking Charlie's last two years in the minors as his guide post. Should someone outperform these numbers they would get a shot. Thus far Danks and Floyd have come close as well as Russell but they all could use a bit more seasoning in AAA. Haegar is an ideal spot starter/long reliever as he is kind of like a softball pitcher when it comes to the recovery time. The thing I do not like about this situation is that our catchers have no shot of defending against a knuckleball (ie see Boston last year). Also, will Chuck be able to perform in the cold weather..........
  2. Seeing as this thread has gone ot hell in a handbasket I thought I'd do a little vent. Mark Prior is now on his way to the rotation and Cy Young according to Comcast. Well all I saw was he was lucky to get out of the first and third and weather conditions favored the pitcher greatly. Oh well back to Pictionary.
  3. 4th over Haegar 7 runs in 3 innings. Please let his day be done.
  4. Another walk and Sexson with a hit. I believe the days of Charlie Haegar are just about done. The walks, PB/WP's, and SB's are not conducive to winning. Another hit and another, FO. Is it 8-6 M's?
  5. AJ seemed to get caught and there wasn't really anything he could have done. Funky play that ended up with the Sox getting a gift run. Haegar with a lead off walk to Bloomquist. Anyone find it troubling that we have had men on second twice and base hits could not get him in. Haegar working on a cutter. Hit and run Bloomquist to third on the base hit. Sac Fly 1-out man on first
  6. Iguchi and Thome score. Konerko with a double. 5-4 M's......Erstad waved him home as he is now grinding from the thirdbase coaches box
  7. If Erstad is all that why did nobody offer him more than what Pablo OZuna will make this year. Thome Walks. First and second nobody out.
  8. QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Probably when he was part of a championship team, an all star and earned his 2 GG's. Funny though, BA is a god after having a less than average second half of a season, but imporved from his first half season. I agree with you but spring training has shown that he is not this player any longer. If he is allowed to play center, left and first on occasion it is a nice pick up. Iguchi with a hit.
  9. Our catchers have trouble handling non-knuckle ball pitchers and have no chance against knucklers. PB takes away the DP that would have been and run scores. Reed K's M's with a pair 5-2.
  10. Haegar not really looking like somebody that wants to make the major league team.
  11. Dye 1 pitch DP inning over. I really think this team is f***ed if (1) Iguchi isn't batting second and (2) Anderson is not in center. When did Darin Erstad become a god? He is having a spring that resembles his career. The whole situation confuses me. As you can see from my earlier post I confuse rather easily. Morse up. Haegar in. Morse homers on the second pitch.
  12. Farmer likes Danks and Anderson to make the team..... QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) Farmer likes Danks and Anderson to make the team..... Oh wait..if the guy isn't going to pitch every 5th day he should go to AAA. I am a tad confused.
  13. Ed Farmer prior to the commercial break- "Rain Delay should blow through rather quickly." After the break - "Rain Delay and we are going ot be here a while as it is coming down rather hard." We won't confuse Ed Farmer with Jim Tilmon won't we.
  14. Rain Delay-----Konerko on via a Bloomquist and Sexson error.... both dropped the ball in an attempt to get Konerko on base.
  15. SB as "nobody was paying attention" on the delayed steal. Looks like another banner day. GO by Sexson.
  16. Great to see the wild pitches and stolen bases won't be an issue this year.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 07:07 AM) HOLY f***ING s*** WAS THAT EPISODE AWESOME!!!! Wow, where to start? -You could just tell that something has been up for a while with John Locke. He has been doing stupid things for too long now for it to just be a coincidence, and of course as usual with LOST I totally missed it. His whole back and forth with Ben could be analyzed forever, but it boils down to Ben is a fricken awesome character. You really don't know when he is playing the game, or when he is telling the truth. The ending with Ben showing Locke his father was the Coup De Grace. (I did call that one though). It will be really interesting to see if Ben lets John have a crack at his Daddy. -The line Ben had about releasing Jacks friends when Jack and Juliet left the island was perfect. It caught Jack off guard, but he never got it, now we get to see how Ben handles this. Does he still let them go, even though there is no where to go? -The key question for this week is what is the Magic Box, and is it real? I know there is more stuff I forgot, but we'll start with that. I believe the magic box was more rhetorical as Ben knew what John would think. The Locke character is what I believe is the whole jist of the show. Is Locke a pawn that Ben can manipulate easily or is Locke the know all of the secrets of the island and therefore driving Ben crazy???? I really do not undersand the Others are they part of Dharma or aren't they? Also, what the hell has Rousseau been doing for 16 years that she has never found Otherville? Jesus woman get out once and a while.
  18. Tonight's episode sounds like the best one yet.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) Who am I? David Wells
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) AJ grounds out to first. Fields singles to right. Anderson batting for Mackowiak. That's something I've never seen before. And he takes a 4 pitch walk. I believe I hear Ozzie swearing. Terrero flies out to a leaping CF. Inning over. Is Anderson the DH???????
  21. I see him being traded to the Phillies for Jon Lieber.
  22. Will this help Pods and base stealing as the catcher will not be able to see the base path from 1st to 2nd as clearly? Also will keep a pitcher from throwing up and away (semi pitch out). The cray thing is I wouldn't mind Iguchi batting third in this situation and Thome 5th. I don't know sounds like a goofy idea to me. Oz is the manager so I will defer to him.
  23. Not quite sure what people that are tuning out expect from free tv. Sure it is no American Idol or Dancing with the Stars. The Locke thing is odd. He and Jack appear to the only people that are really suppossed to be there. I like how Kate keeps trying to be important. Could Jack have spent time in the Carl chair? Gotta tell you, it keeps me interested as much now as ever.
