QUOTE(Balance @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Ummmm....... Not anymore. Tied at 4, bottom of the 8th, runner on 2d, 2 out. Rain Delay. I suppose we need to root for a rainout at this point. Wouldn't that revert the score to the last complete inning? Yes but I think they will wait all night. It reverts to the end of 7. 4-1 Mariners.

Until he pissed off the Cardinals by aging a few years, Pablo Ozuna was going to replace Edgar Renteria. Why can he not replace Uribe for the next 24 games? Then Sweeney, Gload or Pods can play left? Oh right he and Mackowiak have forgotten how to play any other position because they are playing positions they are incapable of. Do you think it is tough to learn a new position and bat lead-off???

Yesterday's game meant s***! Today when I opened the paper I saw that we caught the biggest break of the year. Dye and Jenks are back. These are our two MVP's. We lost twice because they were hurt. Vazquez was absolutely awesome last night. That was huge maybe not this year but I think he can still be something. I believe we will begin to hit and not stop until the end of October. We could be in a race Monday with three teams all within two games of one another. I think we win tonight and both the Sox and Twins go 3-1 over the weekend. I also think the Twins lose and Tigers win today. Tonight, if we get a leadoff hit to start the game and Contrearas pitches like he can, we will go on a roll. That's all I have got to say about that.

I find it very disheartening that in a must we. (If we lose we 1 1/2 behind the Twins.) We are giving someone that struggles against lefties their major league debut. Mack is not a GG Rf but he will do the job and has at least hit major league pitching before. This is not the time to be testign young players. I hope cooler heads prevail. Our offense is pathetic right now. That last thing it needs is another automatic out. I am not ripping on Sweeney here BTW.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) i got no problem with anyone calling our team out for just about anything...i got a problem with sox "fans" giving up hope when we are .5 games out of the playoffs The sad thing is...I wish I could give up and walk away say it is over and wait until next year. Instead I am thinking we win one of the next two and let Det and Minny beat each other over the weekend and get on a roll out west. I also get pissed because we were schooled by Julian Taveraz have gone 2-4 in the last 6 against KC and could not finish sweeps against KC, Baltimore or Tampa Bay. God I hate this s***.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) im as pissed off as anyone about the absolute goddamn sh*tty way we have been playing and all these bullsh*t losses we've been goign through...and the fact that forking freddy garcia can't hold an opponent to under 5 runs....and every other thing that has been going wrong......but if you are cashing in the chips on this season, and actually call yourself a real fan then as far as im concerned you can stop believing and go jump on some other team....f*cking a..we are a half game back with 3 against minny still left and you are giving up...people like you give real sox fans a bad name I am not agreeing with him but this team needs to show that it actually wants to win. A subtle thing, in Friday's game when podsednik grounded out to start the 9th, he took one step past the bag and turned to the dugout. If a player is running hard he should be through the bag and to the outfield grass. This team appears to have no heart whatsoever. I want to think they do and keep telling myself they do but I just do not see it. I see no hustle, plenty of wasted at bats. By wasted at bats I mean 2-0 pop ups and 1,2 or 3 pitch at bats. Not making the pitcher work. The silver lining in all of this is that there is less then four weeks left to have to watch the worthless piece of s*** that is scott podesednik and his tiresome sidekick juan uribe.
-
October during the organizational meetings when he can blame everyone but himself. Gload can handle LF here as there is no room. Why he is not out there is a mystery.
-
4 K's and a pop out is my guess. 3 more weeks until he is finally not an option.

QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) He was DFA'ed. He sucked. Couldn't do anything but run. He can replace pods

Teams with $100M payrolls do not play smallball. Case in point; Mets, Yanks, Red Sox and cubs Smallball is a term used for small budget franchises as an excuse to not pay the thumpers. How many "smallballers" make over $10M a year????? How many "longballers" make over $10M a year????

I love to sit in these seats and stare at pods worthless ass. Now next season maybe someone useful will be out there and I can stare at Uribe's worthless ass in my fancy angled seat.

The Sox season comes down to the 4 game home stand agaisnt Cleveland. I think they will play .500 ball in the other games. These 4 make it 14-9 or 10-13. Also these four are a prelude to the west coast swing. I also believe Minnesota and Detroit play each other for four at the same time.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) Does it really matter? From a business/personal perspective no you hate to see a guy get shut down. As for a cub fan cleaning up if the Sox make the playoffs....

8 pitch at bat. podsednik could have struck out looking for two full atbats there. -

Signing him to come out of the pen wouldn't be bad. He would also be the 6th man next year or have a shot to make the rotation if we trade Garcia or Vazquez. He could be the Sox version of Eddie Guardado. -
First Santa's Village now this. I think a place at the 35th and Wentworth would be ideal as this is where the buses park, the el is and next year the route to the Metra would be. All routes for those that can indulge without the worries of traffic.

For Cy Young I think wins mean more than ERA. If he somehow gets to 21 wins, not likely, and a sub 4 ERA he has a shot. What if Jenks gets to 50 saves though and a sub 3 ERA isn't he 38/41 in opportunities while blowing those saves to the Orioles, Royals and I forget the third. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 08:43 AM) I'm actually more worried about the Royals then the Red Sox. The Royals are playing loose and have no pressure on them. Neither do the Red Sox if Pappy and Manny are out. -
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 08:28 AM) In an note in chicagosports.com, Brooks Boyer said the lower deck seats down the lines will be facing more toward homeplate next season when the rest of the green seats are installed. Funny, I thought the same thing while reading this.
