QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) OK Jon, I do believe your ERA is under 5 now. 4.98 Pull 'em to keep the confidence up.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) I suppose this is enough of a cushion to put Gload in RF... or Mack in center Nice DP, that's a gem at how smooth it went.
-
Gload in right. Suck em up Joe.
-
"Snowman goes up on that board." That's a good one.
-
Would've been nice against Rivera.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) pablo's made an adjustment in this atbat to lay off the high pitches And play whatever that game is where you hit the ball after it bounces. Nice rip Guch.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Nice woodwork, but thats bad baseball by AJ. What did he do?
-
QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Who released him? Why? Is this guy an asshole or something? Can he play CF defense? Houston Not sure about the attitude but he is average in center but could play left and hit off the bench. I am not sure if anyone has experience with his attitude.
-
His splits .312/.379/.416 against lefties could help as we seem unable to hit left handed pitching. He also could be a 4th OF and RH bat off the bench. Thoughts???

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) I'll wager that Detroit has won quite a few games on the strenght of sloppy play by the opponent's defense this year, and I doubt they complain afterwards. Yeah, Detroit gave us a few runs on defense...but we also didn't give them any gifts back. In the recent weeks a horses*** Cleveland bullpen comes to mind. They need to prove they can beat the Red Sox, Yankees and White Sox. They went 1-5 at home against them and have to play both at their places this season.

Fox should put one game on the National channel, one on FX and one on Fox News on a Saturday afternoon.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Other than the clutch hit by Anderson, we didn't do much of anything to deserve a win today. BUT I'LL TAKE IT, now finish the damn sweep tomorrow for once and we'll be at 70 wins and be back in this race (somehow). They have the best record in baseball. You take them however you can get them.

Top 3 web gems in White Sox history
Harry Chappas replied to WhiteSoxfan1986's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Daryl Boston catch was the best. The cat dove headfirst into the crowd. He was parallel to the ground. Also the Brian Simmons grabs top anything on this list. They were identical to the Ryna Freel grab. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) I don't mean to add on to the Broadway bashing in any way, but you can't really be serious about comparing Broadway and McCarthy. McCarthy's K/BB ratio is almost double Broadway's. McCarthy has already proven that he can be semi-successful at the big league level, not to mention AAA. We've seen McCarthy have three big league pitches. I've heard rave reviews about Broadway's curveball, but his changeup doesn't seem where it needs to be yet, and he's not doing a great job of fooling the hitters right now; he only has 100 Ks in something like 142 IP. I think Broadway has a chance to be a good #5 innings eater who can put up a league average ERA or so, but my expectations aren't a whole lot higher than that. Vazquez gets $12M a year to do this.....

To have any chance of winning the division...
Harry Chappas replied to Harry&JimmyRocked's topic in Pale Hose Talk
After this weeekend Detroit goes to Boston and KC comes here. We need to take 3 of 4 at home against the Royals. A nice 8 game winning streak puts us where we need to be for the remainder of the season. Missing Liriano is huge. -
We really had no business winning that game but Javy had the balls. Let's step it up this weekend in a big way and put the WC out of reach. SOX WIN! SOX WIN! Goodnight.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) well proctor just went out and kicked our ass we've played well enough in this series to believe that we have heart in our offense I agree, just not tonight.
-
This offense has no f***ing heart tonight. That was three at bats given away. AJ swung at ball 4 twice. This inning scares me.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) Liriano *might* be done for 06. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2546166 EPSN reported doctors were not optimistic about an 06 return shoulder and elbow issues. Looks like we miss him the next two times around at least.
-
You know what's funny, the Twins were shut out by Ted Lilly, Boston was swept in KC and we are going toe to toe with the hottest team in baseball right now. For some reason the results of this game are meaningless to me. Javier showed some balls as did McCarthy. We are best team in the wild card race.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) How come you use the team name for the Yankees and Sox, but city (or state ) name for Detroit, Boston and Minnesota? My guess, they only have one team in the city.
-
Mussina at 99 pitches.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) holy spiff! a anderson, pods rally! Bizarro world White Sox right there.
