  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I've heard that Hyatt is terrible. Taht the noise from the street is very loud.. That's ok. I'll drink enough to sleep through it and I got it on priceline for $50.
  2. I'll be at both. Fri section 117 I think. Sat. section 125 Row 1. Staying at the Hyatt Regency
  3. There you go Scotty! 1st of many for the Sox!
  4. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) I have no driving advice. I'm just curious why you are a newbie to the Sox nation? What team did you root for previous? And let me welcome you aboard! You are going to love Comiskey. I'm sorry, the cell. I recommend that you get a bratwurst on the lower level concourse from the brat/polish stand, near the seating area, around 1st or 3rd base. i want to say its called Beltin Bill's Brats and Polish or something. Also, get a funnel cake. US Cellular Rocks! I think he was the guy from the family that was searching for a new team and liked what the Sox did to recruit them as fans. Correct me if I'm wrong Indy.
  5. QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) The Score reported he and Gil Hodges were close, but no dice. OH NO! Screw Santo. Obviously no one thinks too highly of his baseball accomplishments. I wish he would stop crying like a little girl about it. Maybe he should be hanging out with Magglio.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Well, it's up to us as fans to believe whatever we choose. I never said what you should believe, I just told you what I thought. I never said PK was using steroids, I said it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) His name sometimes comes up when people speculate about Sox players on juice. He has some kind of mysterious hip injury that supposedly has required some 'help'. I actually just finished Conseco's book and he said that not all guys use steroids to bulk up like him, they use them to quicken the healing process or for stamina so they can last the long season. I don't know what to believe about ANY player after reading that book. It would be nice to believe that no one on the Sox is juicing or has juiced, but it probably is not true.
  8. Looks like the Raiders can fill out their receiving corp. now.

    A Question...

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) Long time readers of this board may know that I used to live in Michigan. Gave up radio, traveled Europe. Got back into radio - in a small town, was real unhappy with my life... but happy with my job. Unfortunately, life trumps job in the game of "winodj action card battle." So I'm living in NJ, with a job that I don't much care for, but I'm making a LOT more money. However, I also have a lot more expenses. New car, and much higher rent. My roommate situation has disintegrated and I need to find a new place to live quickly. I found out I may have an opportunity back in Michigan, the same station I worked at when I started on soxtalk. The money is 40 to 50% less than I'm making now, but its in my passion. Right now, neither option seems entirely economically feasible. So what should I do or where should I go? I think the ESPN Radio has na opening for a Pre and Post game host for the White Sox. You should look into that!
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) We had Channel 1 also. Never really liked it that much. They did have one or two hot anchors though. One of them from when I was in HS is an MTV VJ or whatever they call them now (considering they play very few videos).
  11. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Yes me also, I would love to get my hands on one of them.. A little off subject... My boss' grandmother has an original program from the 1906 World Series. I made her a $50 offer, but for some reason she said no. That is a piece of memorabilia I would love to get my hands on.
  12. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 05:21 AM) I'll personally take you up on that. I'll take that free beer as well.
  13. Mac, Jurko, and Harry also reported that Shaq is out for the season. Miami is still a pretty good team without him. I think Detroit will pull out of the East, but I think if the Bulls continue their ways they can make some noise in the playoffs.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) Shaq just got hurt so suddenly this game looks a whole hell of a lot more winable. I don't root for players to get hurt, but I was definitely happy when Shaq went out. Hopefully he just misses a couple of games and comes back healthy.

    Whata dork...

    QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) http://www.mbd2.com/guy.htm He's pretty much the fat version of Bob Saget
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) Well, it was just my general observation on gauging activity. Nothing personal was meant. Nothing personal taken. I guess we are both going to be in league 1 this season so you'll be hearing from me a lot knightni.
  17. 82-85 Wins. Hopefully they can catch a couple of breaks and win 90.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) And that last paragraph in a nutshell is why Tadahito Iguchi is playing here in Chicago and not in Japan for the next couple of years. I remember the first time I heard the gong when i was at the game. It definitely gave me goosebumps to see/hear the crowd's response. I can't wait for the season to start!
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Just my opinion, but if a member here averages over 5 posts per day on Soxtalk, then they will probably be an active fantasy player. If people don't have the time to post here, they might not have the time to be active in the fantasy league. Not in all cases. Mike knows that I am an active Fantasy Player, but I definitely don't post 5 per day here. I read a lot more than I post.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) F you going Friday or Sat? If its Friday you need to meet up with us also. I'll be there on Saturday. I don't want to have to rush up there after work for the Friday game.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) I'm all over this one. The most expensive price, for a damn good seat is like $15.00 I think. I paid $35 total for 2 seats in section 125 Row 1 Great deal. Only bad thing is I have to take the woman to the outlet malls after the game.
  22. Damnit! I wish I would have known about this in high school. I drank so much Zima when I was a Junior in HS. What makes your stomach turn more? Drinking mouthwash or drinking Zima?
  23. I used to do Season tickets, but things always come up during the game days, so now I just go whenever I have time which usually shakes out to be about 30 games per season. I usually go to all or most Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday games.
  24. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) The only sprirng training game I'm going to is in Milwaukee. That should be pretty sweet, too. I just bought my tickets for April 2nd. Section 125 Row 1. I was just out in AZ for work, so I doubt I'll make it back out there for ST
  25. I don't remember which league I was in, but I was in one of them. I would like to play again this season. Wouldn't mind playing against SS2K5 and Winning Ugly for old times sake.
