  2. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) He's a good ballplayer. He's the type of player the White Sox would let go of but the Cardinals would play all over the diamond.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) It's funny now it's Robin letting him run amuck. It was only a couple of years ago people were afraid Robin would run him away for having a yelling argument with him. Like was said, it doesn't matter who the manager is Sale is the one at fault. What he did was nuts. If someone gave me 100,000 guesses I would never have guessed that. That said, suspending him was going overboard on the other side of the boat. Keep in mind, with Sale, you are going to have to live with some of this. Part of success is the fire that burns inside. He has these incidents, but other than that there is nothing out there that says he's a bad teammate or a bad guy. He does something like this, you shrug your shoulders and move on. Something else will happen at some point, whether he's playing for the White Sox and Robin Ventura, or the Yankees and Joe Girardi, or the Cubs and Joe Maddon, or Boston and John Ferrell. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good and deal with it. Yes, this particular incident was about as ridiculous as could be, but he didn't beat a woman. He didn't drive drunk. He didn't take PEDs, he didn't fight a teammate. The reality is, those are all far worse. Every one of your goddamned posts is this "I told you so" bulls***. You have a lot of knowledge, and you're a smart guy...how about you post something original instead of always trying to make others look stupid?
  4. I actually like what I see out of Gonzalez. Given the reputation we have for developing arms, I'm not so sure why he's so destined to blow up.
  5. I'm happy, but concerned at the same time...
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) I don't mind anything he said. He obviously doesn't give a s*** about what the team thinks. I would never trade him because of his mouth, but I would trade him because of the opportunity he presents to turn this organization around. Get something done.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) Anderson is a bit shaky on those turns ? More like Saladino.
  8. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) They said you only trade him if it's a grand slam type deal, not a home run. So I don't think they were pushing for one. That is very much out of the norm for them to even talk about that, however. As if to make clear that the trade is not because of the incident, but simply because it's the smart thing to do.
  9. Yeah, Q definitely has that "ocra" about him...
  10. Yeah, missed this Cy. Great stuff as always!
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:55 PM) Honestly, I think Sale would have looked badass in that uni. +1
  12. Seriously, those jerseys have to be the most comfortable ever made.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:22 AM) Calling it an "easy path" is clearly a fallacy. Instead of having known quantities, you have multiple unknown quantities that you need to all go right, in a really narrrow window of time. It is not "easy". Otherwise teams wouldn't routinely fail at it. For a competely modern version, ask the Twins how rebuilding is working as they are on to their 3rd GM and 2nd manager in recent years, and as bad as they have been in decades. You certainly do NOT need everything to go right. That is exactly the point of moving these guys now, so you can collect so much young talent that you just sort of figure out how to put it all together when that time comes. The Twins are a s*** example. Last I remember, the Twins did not do what many of the posters here who want the White Sox to sell are asking them to do. The Twins didn't trade 2 of the better starting pitcher packages in modern history in order to jump start a rebuild. People want to talk about a rebuild being a long road...it is actually the shortest road, barring something fairly unforeseen happening, such as some of our kids magically turning into the next Mike Trout out of nowhere.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) It sucks that the best thing we can do for the organization is trade the best pitcher in our history at age 27 because we can't make anything else work. We passed that s*** a long time ago.
  15. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) I agree with you here and the media is going to have their hands full trying to make people like Hillary. So far they've focused on making the country hate Trump enough to just vote for Hillary. But as the election gets closer and maybe Trump destroys her in debates, the media might have to switch tactics to convince people to like her. Like you alluded to- bottom line- the country doesn't want Hillary freaking Clinton in charge of everything. Mercy. Really?
  16. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:52 PM) I just wish we could discuss the Cubs as though they played in Spokane, because in reality they're just another team with assets they could stand to move. You wouldn't ask the Angels for Trout, you wouldn't ask the Astros for Altuve. For the same reason, you don't ask the Cubs for Bryant. It's just not productive, as no team would reasonably trade those two guys. I would ask the Angels for Trout, because they don't have anything else worth a s***.
  17. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) Bryant is a non-starter as he's better than Sale. As far as Russell, that's like asking Houston to part with Correa. He's 22 and improving. He's not going anywhere. Schwarber, Baez, Contreras is more than enough to cover Sale. They definitely won't because the Cubs value Russell and Schwarber too much. I smell what you're stepping in, but I agree with some of the others who think you've got to step up and trade a guy like Russell for someone like Sale. I've been a proponent of moving Sale for 2 years now. He simply came along at the wrong time for us. That doesn't mean he can't have a place in our next playoff run; it just won't be with him in our uniform. That being said, Sale is the type of player that you have to make an opposing GM give up a player that truly causes him pain. I'm not sure if that is Bryant, but it certainly could be a guy like Russell. I get it...teams don't want to subtract from the big league club in a playoff race, but teams don't generally trade HOF caliber SPs with team-friendly contracts either. This isn't going to happen because a team moves all prospects - no matter how many - this happens because a team goes out on a limb and moves their young star that it was ultra painful to move but they decided to move because they determined Sale could get them a championship. We all know who that team is. It sure as hell isn't the Cubs. It's Dave Dombrowski and the Boston Red Sox.
  18. Bought a mower! A honda walk-behind 4 in 1 self-propelled mower. Honda seemed to have the best reputation in this space, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this instead of a riding mower. I really don't think this will take all that long. This sucker flies. I guess we'll find out Saturday.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Let's just think logically here... what signal would that send to Jerry? "Hey sorry man...but your going to be dead by the time we compete"? Exactly what he wants! No, it should signal "this is the way to give you a dynasty instead of a f***ing 're-tool'"
  20. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:02 AM) Another source says the #WhiteSox were offered a "king's ransom" for Sale in the last 48 hours and responded with a flat "no." This makes me want to vomit. Hopefully they are just slow-playing them to get more.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) I'm at the point where I'm ready to move everyone on the Major League roster except Anderson, Rodon and Fulmer. I know that's not going to happen but I'm all in on blowing the whole damn thing up and trying to completely rebuild with what you acquire with Sale, Q, Eaton, etc. I would hold Rodon as well, but not because I am opposed to trading him, just because he isn't yet worth what he should be.
  22. This bulls*** between the two of you is annoying as hell. Both of you should meet up and push each other off a cliff. For f***'s sake, grow up.
  23. The timing of this blown save really freaking sucked. It's caused a lot of people to overreact a bit, which is understandable. But these sort of things happen. Robertson hasn't been elite, but he's been solid .The comparison to Addison Reed is laughable. Ultimately, David Robertson is not anywhere near this team's bigger problems.
  24. So ended up choosing the initial brown Q7 that I ordered, rather than the black one. Love how it turned out.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 8, 2016 -> 01:00 PM) Who can keep track of lights though. Need a big metal piece you slide across. My wife complains about this as well. Of all the appliances we purchased, the dishwasher has probably been the one that has met our expectations the easiest, and yet she is always asking me whether I opened the dishwasher or not, as that is how she keeps track of whether the contents are clean or not.
