  1. I've been one of the biggest Pods' supporters over the years and I was one of the people who wanted to bring him back. But then we traded for Juan Pierre, who is essentially the same damn player. So boo hoo. No sense in crying about it. It's 2 weeks of baseball. There are like 30 weeks left. A little early to be determining whether or not a mistake was made...
  2. QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) I'm amazed by the battery life. That's awesome. I think the movie rental price of $4 is too much I agree. I think they are trying to work something out, possibly a subscription-based program, but as long as all these idiots keep renting the crap out of them, they have no incentive to change. The joke is the iPad users that are renting the HD quality movies for $5...what a waste.

    Insanity

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Alright! My sister's boyfriend got the Insanity workout yesterday. He was really encouraged about my leanness (despite not working out for 2 weeks now ) and he wants to get his fat ass in shape. Me, him and my sister will be starting this program tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated. Awesome, Gerry! Keep me posted on what you think! I am looking for other things to do now that I have gone through P90X.

  5. So I took the iPad on a trip to Reno this past week. Previous to leaving, I loaded it up with movies and books to read. At the airport, I was able to use the free Wifi and connect to the internet and navigate webpages very easily. The processor was fast and the signal was strong. On the plane, I watched the animated film "9" and was incredibly impressed by the picture quality. When I busted out the iPad and started the movie, the lady sitting next to me let out an "oooh, that picture is beautiful" and actually seemed to be watching most of the movie with me. As it was a short flight, I didn't finish the movie on the plane, but finished it that night in the hotel (although I had also rented Zombieland and found that iTunes' 24 hour rental period to sort of stink - I started the movie on the plane ride home but didn't get a chance to finish it before the rental period expired - so that was a waste of $3.99). At the hotel, I was able to read some of the books I had downloaded in bed with no real complaints about the supposed "eye strain" or whatever. The books are easy, actually even sort of fun to navigate through as you can scroll through one page at a time, or by the table of contents, however you would like. I hope Apple works out contracts with some other publishers so the selection on iBooks becomes larger. Not having the 3G connection was a bit of a disadvantage as I couldn't connect to the internet without paying for the hotel's Wifi signal, but that was ok, because I was able to check email and that sort of thing via my iPhone and it's 3G signal (one of the primary reasons I didn't spring for the 3G version of the iPad). I was gone for 4 days and did not charge the iPad once. When I got home, I still had 83% battery remaining, so the battery is definitely top notch. All in all, it's a very solid device. As many have said, including myself, it's not going to replace your laptop if you are a serious business traveler, and it's definitely a bit of a toy - certainly not a necessity for anyone - but it works extremely well for what it is designed to do and I had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever. Just wanted to give you guys sort of a review of my first trip with it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) Nice work dude. Keep it up. I expect to post some final pics here in the next month or so. Thanks man. Feel good about my lean-ness right now, so this second time around is going to be about adding bulk. More weight, less reps. Pool season is damn near here and the bikinis are going to be out in force And as you can tell, now I need to get some color on my pasty white ass!

Hey guys....sorry I have not been around to keep up the encouragement. Finished the program last week, and have been taking a break, but already feeling like a lazy bum. Going to start up again today I guess. Not sure what I am going to do long-term, but I need to get moving or else I feel like a lot of my gains will be lost. Hope everyone is still pressing play!
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 06:51 PM) I read a review of it on Slate and the reviewer up front said "you don't need this device but when you see it you're really gonna want it." Yeah, honestly, despite the lack of multi-tasking, i am toggling back and forth between functions and webpages extremely easily. The processor is fast enough that it's just sort of manual multi-tasking by learning how to manipulate the touchscreen quickly. I kinda feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report.
  14. Well, I'm at the airport posting on my iPad and the airport WiFi signal is working just dandy! I don't care what you guys say; this is the perfect device for the airport...I have several movies downloaded, some books downloaded, and plenty of battery life to boot!
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) come on guys, it's not like the closer will singlehandedly break this team./guess zing

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) 1 down, 89 to go. i am using bands, curious to see how I feel tomorrow. I've been doing pull ups the past few weeks to prepare myself, taking a minute or two break between sets. Doing them right after the push ups really cuts down on my reps, thank you chair. I don't think I got through one ab exercise without taking a break. Oh well, should only get better from here on out. Congrats, LZ! Keep up the good work!
  17. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:19 AM) We don't have the pitching of 05. Maybe the starters but our relievers in 05 were absolutely incredible. They have already lost a few games this year. You cannot possibly make that comparison this early.
  18. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) My expectations were lowered in the off season by who they obtained. Sure they can move around the bases better but this team will not be able to match up against Boston or New York in the post season. We wouldn't have regardless of who we acquired.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 11:42 PM) We should have given Carrasco's 1 mill to a Mr. Jim Thome. Greg, I am not certain about this so I'll ask...weren't you one of the guys who wanted the "base cloggers" gone?
  20. Wow, that is really bizarre. It's almost like he was just so excited (and possibly a little nervous about the decision he just made) that he was just freaking out....look at the way he is hopping up and down...
  21. I can't believe how quickly all this negativity has wrapped it's tentacles around us after just 6 games. I feel like to be honest, we have suffered quite a bit from just rotten luck. We've led every game, we've had opportunities in every game to win, we just have not gotten the bounces to go out way. If this had been 2 series' in the middle of July, I don't think many think twice about it...but since it was the first 6 games of the year, it's being incredibly over-scrutinzed. We need to keep a level head here, including the Ozzeroo.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) No kidding. Only a buffoon with no knowledge of who was on first, who was at the plate, and who was up next would make the safe call and go with the bunt. Why is Ozzie even there? They could just use an iPad in the dugout and punch in the game situation into some generic baseball app to tell them to bunt. Oh how you make me laugh...
  23. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) Any time you have a left-handed pitcher out there, it gets tricky. Like Ranger said, Perez has a balkish-type move that doesn't get called. You really want to risk getting picked off? I was fine with Beckham bunting both times, given the circumstances. For the most part, unless the move is really bad, you're just guessing on first move against a lefty. IMHO, and as someone else pointed out, I'd have taken the risk. If he successfully steals, you can put the bunt down then and have the go-ahead runner on third with 1 out for Q. If he gets picked off or thrown out, than hey, you let Beckham swing away. The guy is a doubles machine. You may end up with the same situation as you were trying to get to in the first place.
