5/17 White Sox (Keuchel) v. Twins (Happ) Thread
JUSTgottaBELIEVE replied to bmags's topic in 2021 Season in Review
116 win Mariners had a +300 run differential. Sox are on pace for +296 a quarter of the way into the season if the current score holds. -

And 11.5 on the Twins. Caulfield is almost ready to stick a fork in them. -

What’s the all time record for run differential in a season? -
Sox are the second highest favorite to win the pennant after the Yankees. +300 vs +450
-
#3, #4, #5 best record in MLB, best run differential in MLB
-
#3, #4, #3 Best run differential in MLB, best record in AL. I bet $100 on the Sox to win the World Series last Sunday +1200 odds. Three days later odds are down to +900. LFG

Not surprising to see a NL West team #2 in mid-May but it is very surprising to see it’s neither LA or SD. -
Sox #1 in the majors in run differential

That’s pretty good, right? Just checking because more than half the board said the Sox were toast less than a week ago. -
True. Bieber won last season but his numbers made him the undeniable pick.

That is correct. Does not include Kopech. Lynn has the best odds of the five at +1300. Cole is the favorite at +160.

So this is pretty incredible... Draftkings futures odds for AL Cy Young award winner currently places 4 Sox starters inside the top 10. Their fifth starter (Dallas Keuchel) is tied for 18th best odds. Insane

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
JUSTgottaBELIEVE replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With Eloy and Robert slated to return in August/September and most teams unwilling to make a deal until June/July anyway, I don’t see the need to make a big trade unless you acquire an outfielder with a few seasons of control. Acquiring a high leverage reliever at the deadline could serve more useful for this team this season. -
If you can’t find optimism in the way this team is currently constructed, you never will. This is literally the most talented White Sox team in decades, if not in franchise history. Yet, you nitpick and frame everything in a negative light while ignoring the incredible trades Hahn made to put them in this position in the first place. If believing this team is a World Series contender makes me a cheerleader then I’m the biggest fucking cheerleader on the planet right now.
