I dont think I would have been ecstatic over a Wheeler signing. I have been more demoralized with the Sox FO approach financially then anything else. Knowing that they were the highest bidder makes me feel a little bit better about things. Then I remember there are two of the better pitchers in the game available right now and the Sox have already painted the narrative that they do not have deep enough pockets for them. FML

The Sox will get one or the other, if anything, but they won’t get both. The reason they trade for Joc would be to save money after spending a ton on pitching. Not to just then add Castellano’s as well. I don’t see that happening.

Ah so that’s why people love Wheeler, the WAR. I honestly spent a lot of time away from baseball the past couple years as a man scorned by the Sox FO so I wasn’t really familiar with him and by the traditional stats he doesn’t jump out that much.

Isnt his "breaking" of a story just a product of throwing soooo much shit at the wall that eventually something sticks?

Ahh, thanks for the recaps guys. I guess Clinton is confident it is going to happen. We have learned from this though. A source can be a good source and still wind up being wrong. Situations change that not even the best sources can anticipate. We shall see.

Clinton Cole said he would sign with Sox by thanksgiving? I am sure he said that as 100% speculation.

I think we have determined that eye balls on twitter, in general, are not it. After last year I do not care what anyone says until news is official or being widely reported as official. Last off season ruined the rumor mill for me in SO many ways.

I will admit I am still one of the most jaded/butthurt/bitter/pissed off from everything that happened last off season. I am not passed it. But even I wouldn’t have a take like this towards the Grandal signing. and batting average?

Considering the way things have gone for the Sox they will just cut ties with him and he will go on to somewhere else being everything they thought he would be. A franchise poorly run usually doesn't catch the good breaks either.

As bitter and angry as I still am I do at least feel really proud of of Yoan and Tim this year. They are totally killing it. Hopefully they can continue on this path to give us something to salvage going into next year.

The FO isnt going to catch nearly enough heat for this complete disaster as they should because during this season the anger will just turn to indifference from the fan. The large majority just wont care about the Sox and wont pay attention. Sox will still make money some how as they have and eventually years down the line when they have a semi-competitive team the fan will return. They come out of this perfectly. They only care about their money, they shown that, and their money looks pretty damn nice.

And I cant even really get on the players. In baseball you dont get better just because you try harder. You either have it or you dont. If you suck its the FO fault for having you in their plans and its the managers fault for rolling your suckage out there everyday.
