It seems to me like the Sox system is stacked at middle infield with Getz Richar Beckam and Alexei but I don't want them to get rid of Cabrera because I think he is a great player who does it all. That depth seems to make him expendable though unfortunately

Thome has been better than most people give him credit for but most of his hits come in bunches then he goes 0 for a week with no productive at bats. I would like to see a platoon at dh with paulie and thome although that probably isnt realistic considering it would be the most expensive platoon in history but sometimes you have to accept sunk costs.

Coop said Loaiza isn't actually hurt but since he hadn't pitched in a while and hadnt been getting regular throwing (bullpen sessions, starts, etc.) that they were going to let him start a few games in AAA to hopefully get his velocity back so he can contribute to the Sox later in the year.

why not eldred? I know hes not much of a prospect but hes hitting amazingly this season so maybe he'd keep it up on the big club.
