  1. Question, can Fields hit a fastball that 90 mph or fastball? If he can, he certainly can't pull it. I want Fields to succeed, but he is late on everything and can't even hit a 90 mph fastball right down the middle over half the time. If Pitchers were smart, all they would do is pound him inside with fastball, and Fields will be batting .220 at the most this season. If you noticed, about 90% of Fields hits are on breaking stuff down the heart of the plate or away. And, I can't recall Fields actually pulling one ball this whole year. And Ramirez, what the hell is up with him? He needs to take a seat the next few games to get his head on straight. He couldn't handle the baseball at all yesterday, it was a show everytime a ball came his way. And then at bat, he's swinging for the fences! What is he thinking? That is just pitiful. I'm a big Alexei fan, but that is inexcusable how he played yesterday. Lillibridge should and hopefully will play SS the rest of the series. What about Pierzynski? Are his legs hurting him or something? Because he was pitiful behind the plate yesterday. He wasn't getting down to block balls and was instead trying to back hand them, very lethargic back there. And for the rest of the lineup, what the hell? Quentin, Dye and Thome looked pitiful. Hopefully yesterday was just a bad day for them. However, I think all of Fields, Ramirez, and Pierzynski need to take a rest for the way they played yesterday. Aside from the pitching, they were the three worst players we had on the field. If I was Ozzie, the lineup I'd go with would be: 2B, Getz SS, Lillibridge LF, Quentin DH, Thome RF, Dye 1B, Konerko 3B, Betemit C, Miller CF, Anderson
  2. I don't follow basketball all that much, just a casual fan who'll keep tabs on the bulls once in a while.... what are the chances that the Bulls do make a big play for Lebron and actually get him?
  3. The debates in the threads are what make the threads actually fun to post in. No one wants hundred different threads about different subjects. Leave it as is, IMO.
  4. This is just sickening, but no one is reporting it: http://www.climatedepot.com/a/429/Report-D...ssional-Hearing The Dirty Dems in congress actually banned someone from testifying against Al Gore at the congressional hearing yesterday. I heard him speak the other day, and this British Lord is a great scientist and knows more about climate change and the earth in one of his fingernails than Gore will ever know. He provides scientific proof that everything Al Gore is saying is complete BS. Lets see here. According to Gore, the Earth has been warming, but that is proven to be false as the tempature has actually been dropping over the past several years, and this is what we should be focusing on. Global cooling if much more worse than warming. Things can still grow and survive if the Earth is hotter. But if you go into another ice age, you are talking about mass starvation. New York will not be underwater soon like Gore says, and in fact, over the past several years, tides haven't changed. Actually, top scientists have predicted that in about 1000 years, the ocean water might raise 2 feet at the most. OOhhhh, scary! Al Gore is one of the biggest con men in USA history. I view him no better than Bernie Madoff, as all he has done is profited hundreds of millions of dollars from peddling this crap. This is a very sad day in a America when Congress actually bans a brilliant scientist from testifying on a hearing about global warming. I am truly ashamed to be an American right now, because I thought things were different in America.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 08:54 AM) I'll just continue to side with the other 43 presidents on this one. You can keep using your asterisk based rationalizations for immorality. Immorality? What do you think about abortion, stem cell research, etc...? How dare you bring up my morality. Yeah, I'm so immoral because I don't want thousands of innocent americans being killed by these things you call people. But the dems are the kings of morality because they favor the killing of millions of babies (oh wait, dems like to hide the fact that they are babies and would rather call them fetuses and embryos, sorry for not being "PC". Oh, and I should have said "extermination" instead of killing). I could go on and on about how immoral and how sickening the democrat party is. But you are the morality police, it's wrong to want innocent lives spared because some scumbag terrorist would have to endure some rough treatment. All I can say right now is how dare you. If you agree with it is, it's moral, but if you don't agree with you, I'm immoral? Who do you think you are? How dare you call me immoral.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 08:51 AM) Reagan was anti-torture. Was he a bad president? He was a great president. But then again, what was Reagan's view of torture? If it is similar to yours, I strongly disagree with him.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) Apparently, in a hearing on Climate Change today, the GOP representative is... Newt Gringrich? When asked about the polar ice caps: people don't really understand what's happening Well, the GOP had a brilliant scientist from England flown in, but the dirty Dems blocked him from speaking because he'd make Al Gore look like the big fat lying fraud he is.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 10:50 AM) Waterboarding + sleep deprevation + walling = torture in any book Fine, if you want it that way. But the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to Al Qaeda.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) Could we have gotten that information without torturing, er, sorry, "enhanced interrogating" them? Was the "harsh treatment" really necessary to get the information? Oh yeah, I'm sure they'd reveal all their plans over a nice cup of tea.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 06:49 AM) It would be much better if we just beat and abused people in secret! It don't matter anymore. Because we won't be getting info from the terrorists anymore, soldiers will just shoot to kill and not take any prisoners since the only thing that can happen if they take someone in, is that they will be released. What I find funny is that at the same time, Barack Obama has authorized air strikes where terrorists are known to be. Now, I have nothing wrong with that... but everyone's making a big deal about waterboarding, when the terrorists and their families are gonna get blown to hell. It's okay to kill them and their family, but when you waterboard a terrorist to get vital info that may save thousands of American lives (which it has been proven to do), you've crossed the line! This is insanity. If there's another terrorist attack on US Soil in the next 4 years, Obama better be impeached, because it will be on his head.
  11. Well, with the way he's on top of the plate and how he leans in when he's about to swing, he's gonna get plunked a lot. Especially now that I think pitchers are realizing that going inside on Quentin is probably the best method of getting him out.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Well, now BearSox has pictures of Ryan Sweeney with a shirt off. You've done something dangerous.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) I thought maybe this one should be posted as well, for fairness sake... I think it'd be nice if she actually answered some of the questions asked to her. It gets good at around 4:14.
  14. Anyone mention yet how the Obama administration only released the papers showing what type of interrogation techniques we used, while they refuse to release the papers showing how many lives were saved and terrorist attacks were stopped because of these interrogation techniques. That's kinda odd, huh?
  15. If anything, I think we should maybe have Beckham play CF for a couple games in Birmingham, just to see how he does.
  16. I just looked at Charlotte roster... oh god, they are bad.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) What? I don't blame either America or the Indians for what happened in the past, as I think both sides were wrong. What's so mind numbing about that?
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) How would you react if people invaded your land and tried taking it from you? Listen, I don't condone the actions that were taken. Of course I'd fight back, and if someone tried invading America now, you'd know there'd be a major can of whoop ass opened up on them. I don't really sympathize with either side in this situation. However, I realize both sides were in the wrong and try not to look back at the situation and blame America for being evil. Nor do I blame the Indians. Like I said, it's just a dark time for this country, along with slavery.
  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) I'm not sure you can apply the same logic for those "kids" over there. I've changed my mind, death penalty would be to severe. Even though what they were doing is wrong, they were also trying to survive. He still deserves life in jail though, IMO.
  20. Okay, another quick question..... why does it make sense to then go after the Bush administration for torture techniques which weren't even covered in the constitution? Since we are already investigating the Bush amdinistration, why not go back to the 1860's and investigate Lincoln then? I think my point is that it's one thing to disagree with torture, but it really makes no sense to go back and try to prosecute those you disagree with. And at first, Obama was right by saying Bush advisers would not be investigated, but now he suddenly jumped to the other side a day later? My big question is, what made Obama change his mind... Did he wake up with a change of heart, or was there someone else who convinced him otherwise?
  21. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) Ok, and they did nothing until we savaged the s*** out of them. Like I said, we're not innocent, but neither are they. It's a sad time in America to look back on, along with slavery. But I just can't stand when people make the Indians out to be a completely harmless and innocent group that did no wrong.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) I disagree. He attacked a U.S. ship and took hostage of a U.S. citizen. IMO, they have every right to bring him to trial in the U.S. That being said, despite my initial reaction of being glad he'd have to face a U.S. judge for his actions, I am now kind of feeling bad for him. He is only 16-18 years old, appears to have little education, knows no English, is thousands of miles away from home in a country that is nothing like his homeland - he must be terrified. He needs to answer for his actions, but I do feel kind of bad for him. Especially if he was only doing this because he was somewhat manipulated into doing so as his father says (which could very well be false). Yeah, he's just like all those gangbangers who got shot and killed for pulling their guns on cops. According to their families, they were good kids who would never do anything to hurt anyone and were going to start school and get their life in order the next day. I do feel bad for this kid, but he deserves the death penalty IMO, but will likely get life. Sucks for him, but you need to be accountable for your actions.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) So your logic is that FDR was a better president than Obama because he took a couple hundred thousand American citizens and detained them without cause? Where did I say that? FDR was better because he had a much stronger foreign policy where he was not trying to play kissy face with our enemies. Also, what do you think of Lincoln for suspending Habeus Corpus?
  24. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) um yea. A lot of the $h*t that has happened int he middle east does have roots in American involvement. We trained them to fight off the communist movement. Not to kill us and innocent people. It backfired, but you can't seriously blame America for what they have used it for. They used the training and equipment we provided them for evil, not good.
  25. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) We did imprison the Japanese during WW2 It was unfair but they weren't treated horribly, and guess who was the president at that time... FDR, a liberal socialist very much like Obama. At least FDR was tough on the people who wanted to harm us, Obama would rather talk it out.
