But Ryan Sweeney is going to be a star!
His approach to plate and swing are about 10,000x better then Anderson's. However, Sweeney needs to really build up his wrist and forearm muscles. He needs to get that bat around much quicker.
I don't know what to think of that article now since they said Josh Fields struggles with the breaking ball... that couldn't be farther from the truth as he his a great breaking ball hitter... he just can't catch up to the fastball.
Funny how a couple weeks of good ball vs. mainly crap pitching can now turn Brian Anderson from trash (which I still stand by that he is) to the "awesomest" player of all time. Unless Anderson did a major overhaul with his stance, approach at plate, and swing in general, he will stand no chance, once again, in the majors.
It's a shame Ramirez won't be making the team out spring, especially since his approach to plate has been the best, by far, out of any players on the Sox down there at Tuscon.
I just wanted to bring this up because I had this discussion earlier today...
what percentage of people actually know what Obama's policies are (or what he says they are) and agree with them? I don't think very much, as my opinion is that most people don't know a lick about him, but rather have been brain-washed (not as extreme as that, but that is the best word I could think of to describe it) by most of the media that the War in Iraq is evil and Obama is the greatest person ever, etc...
You know, it's one thing to dislike someone, but it's another thing to not act like a human being, and instead act like some untamed gorilla off the streets. Hell, I bet that gorilla would have been more sensible then those "bright young college kids."
I don't care what he looks like, he actually has a good approach to the plate and puts good swings on the ball... most importantly, he hits the ball where it's pitched. It's so refreshing to someone actually go with an outside pitch and take it oppo rather then seeing them pull it.
I can see the 2008 opening day lineup now...
1. Swisher, LF
2. Cabrera, SS
3. Thome, DH
4. Konerko, 1B
5. Dye, RF
6. Pierzynski, C
7. Crede, 3B
8. Uribe, 2B
9. Anderson, CF
I've been saying it for a while, KW has no idea what he's doing.
they had Smoak going no. 3 overall... dammit all hell, winning those extra 5 games when the season last year was over screwed us, most likely, out of the chances of getting him.
that trade is pissing me off more and more. Every time I watch Ramirez play I keep think this guy is the real deal, and could be a great surprise at SS. Instead, we have Cabrera who is 33 and going on the downside of his career. I hated the trade at the time, and I hate it even more now.
Both Crede and Fields won't be on the big league roster... I have this sickly feeling that Crede will be the starting third basemen and Fields will be back down at AAA.
I just watched yesterday's game on the tivo, and Alexi Ramirez has been fun to watch. I wonder if he will make the team out of spring training. We have to carry 7 bullpen arms, and with Hall, Ozuna, Quentin/Owens, and Uribe, it will be tough. Hopefully we will trade Uribe for a bag of balls.
from the videos I have seen, 2k8 looks horrible. I have been burnt by 2k two straight years now. I am gonna go with the Show. At the very least, RTTS is extremely fun.
He's a scrub. Getting a couple hits in spring training in a couple games doesn't automatically make him good. If he wants to earn another shot, he needs to tear the cover off the ball in Charlotte, and then maybe he'll get called up and given another shot.
