  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) Send the bottle of Jack first, then maybe. With Sabean, he might make that trade sober.
  2. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) yeah cuz thats what they want to give up is pitching after they lose Tillman, and have a backend 3 of, to choose from 4, Silva(he just signed so he has to be in it basically), Washburn(definitely not going to BP), Ramirez and Batista(Batista will probably go to BP with best experience) so yeah im sure they would give us Morrow, or O'Flaherty, or Rowland-Smith ...... Tillman isn't really that big of a loss. You'd hate to lose his arm, but he has been getting knocked around in A ball and still has AT LEAST 3 years before he reaches the majors.
  3. The M's rotation is shaping up to be something like... Bedard, Hernandez, Silva, Washburn, Morrow... That is a pretty solid rotation. You'd have pretty much 2 aces, 2 decent middle of the rotation guys who can give you quality starts, and a high upside guy in Morrow. Add in Batista who could fill in for Morrow once in a while and be an effective guy out of the pen as well. Plus, they have Horacio Ramirez who I've always liked, but he did suck last year. Perhaps he could rebound. If they could get some offense, they could be a real tough team.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) Which is kind of odd, though -- the Orioles have Weiters (sp?) who (IIRC) was supposed to be a fast-track player who shouldn't have to spend a whole lot of time in the minors... Then again, if they do both pan out, that's kind of a 'good' problem to have. Well, there has been talks of moving Clement to either 1B or DH since his D at catcher leaves a lot to be desired.
  5. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Does this guy have a name? nah, he's just some guy from fantasy land...
  6. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Owens/Cabrera 1-2 would be one of the worst 1-2 combos in the majors. Didn't you hear? Jerry Owens is fast and can steal bases though!
  7. I like the offense and the pen, the only problem I have is that the rotation is crap and we have no farm.
  8. If we could get Cain for Danks and Crede, I would be the happiest man alive... And I wouldn't put it past that dumbass Sabean.
  9. Jones has a ton of talent, but I'm not sold on him being a star. He K's a ton and doesn't know how to walk. Sherrill is a nice lefty to have in your pen. Tillman has good stuff, but he has gotten light up at just about every level he's been at. Depending on the other 1 or 2 prospects, it's no wonder why the O's suck.
  10. Right now, it sounds like Jones, Sherrill, Tillman, plus one... If so, what a god awful deal.
  11. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22871543/ As of now, it looks like Jones was the only good prospect Baltimore got, and I am not fond of Jones at all. I think he is over hyped due to his athleticism.
  12. If I had it my way, we would somehow trade Dye for a leadoff hitting center fielder... 1. Player aquired via Dye, CF 2. Cabrera, SS 3. Swisher, LF 4. Thome, DH 5. Konerko, 1B 6. Fields, 3B 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Quentin, RF 9. Richar, 2B
  13. Bedard to Seattle is rumored to be a done deal... details to follow.
  14. what is with all this PK batting 3rd stuff? Did Ozzie say that?
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 25, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Because he's a fantastic defensive player and we needed some sort of insurance policy. No amount of defense can make up for having his kind of horrible bat.
  16. if his arm doesn't fall off, he has a chance at being good.
  17. It still baffles me why we gave a fat lazy bum who can't hit his weight, 4.5 million dollars.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 24, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) He is probably taller than Rex Grossman? Id say there are a number of starting QB's he is taller than.... but yeah he isnt your ideal size. I'd be shocked if he's 6'1".

    Heath Ledger Dies

I found out he was named after Heathcliff from Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights." I never knew that, and I thought it was interesting since I just recently watched the movie... Sad news.
  20. he was a good QB, but baseball was an easy choice for him. In football, at best he would have been a practice squad QB. He's just too short. But in baseball, he was going to be a top draft pick, get some nice guaranteed money, and be able to work his way up.
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 01:16 AM) That memory sticks out to most. Made El Duque wanna blush. David has damn good stuff minus his straight, but hard, fastball. Just got his mental midget head twisted. That Cubs series really f***ed him up. Like they do with most pitchers?
  22. If healthy, MacDougal has pretty close to the best stuff in the pen, depending on how Jenks is pitching. As long as he throws strikes and stays healthy, he is tough to hit. But yes, key words, throws strikes and stays healthy. So, call me crazy, but I'd prefer to keep MacDougal just purely on the fact he could wind up being our best or 2nd best reliever.
  23. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) I'd wait until you see what he gave up before making that statement. nah, just getting Bedard would make my day.
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Am I the only one who thinks Bobby Jenks + Uribe and maybe a Lance Broadway (or at most Gavin Floyd) could net Erik Bedard? With Dotel/Linebrink/MacDougal already don't we all think its worth it to get the type of talent Bedard is?? I think this would instantly make us contenders in the AL Central and the Orioles would be nuts to not bite on that package that gives them a young SP from the Baltimore area (if it was in fact Floyd), a SS they desperately need (even if he does like Krispy Kreme a bit too much), and a young closer in his arb years who just might be the best at what he does. Am I insane? If we get Bedard, I will take back everything bad I have ever said about KW.
  25. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Mike Huccabee has the same chance of becoming President as Fields has of starting the season at Charlotte. Not gonna happen. Don't underestimate the power of Chuck Norris... note, I am not saying I am a supporter of his, but just saying.
