  1. or... finally settled in on one team. There is no question Javy is a head case, and perhaps finally being on one team for 2 years now has given him some sort of confidence.
  2. yesterday I was playing another game of madden, winning 21-3 in the 4th quarter and about to score again... and guess what, I get freaking disconnected! Get another BS loss to my record and some more BS DNF%... So f'n gay. Hey Drunkbomber, post your psn or something so we could play sometime. My PSN is MPB.
  3. Javy Vazquez is sick, and with that preformance yesterday, he raised his strikeout total to over 200. Current stats to date: 31/31 G/GS |14-8 | 3.79 ERA | 209 IP | 204 K | 49 BB | 2 CG | 1.14 WHIP This has been Javy's best season since his final year as an Expo. Hopefully now he is fully settled in, and is ready to pitch great for the White Sox for hopefully at least a couple more seasons. Oh yeah... Chris who?
  4. I like the results from Fields and Thome... woulda liked and seen Bukvich come in and get rocked leading to a loss, however.
  5. I f'ing hate madden. Last week I went on a BS losing streak online in the game with BS fumbles and just everything not going my way. So yesterday I decide to test my luck online once again, and when it looks like I have a good shot at taking the lead at half time and get the ball back, f***ing online disconnects me, I get my first DNF. I was tempted to throw my PS3 through my big screen, but then I thought about all the money that would have wasted.
  6. QUOTE(TLAK @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) Danny Richar cannot hit good major league pitching. Seriously, the guy is a rookie and has out produced Iguchi. Give it time. Oh yeah, lots of hitters look foolish against Santana, in case you were wondering.
  7. pitiful... of course it doesn't help when you make you lineups from pullings names out of a hat... but geez.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) To think the Sox were considered completely stupid to get rid of Josh Fogg after his awesome September 2001. I think they still do... Fogg and Wells for Ritchie, ugh that was horrid. And IIRC, Fogg was in the running for NL ROY for the 1st half of that season.
  9. I really don't see what the risk in swapping Floyd in for Contreras would be. Contreras has been god awful this season and I find it tough to believe Floyd would be much worse.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) Lance Broadway will not be a reliever for the Sox next year. If he doesn't make the team as as starter, he will be in Charlotte. There are too many guys with no options who would be in front of him for the pen, such as Sisco and Floyd. I have Floyd pinned as the 5th starter next season with hopefully Contreras gone. And I don't care if players are out of options or not, you need to put the best product on the field. Aardsma is likely traded in the offseason, and IIRC, Sisco still has another option. So, if you ask me, the final spot in the bullpen will likely come down to between Massett and Broadway.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) Actually in other words, getting a better selection of talent is better than a winning 70 games. Here is an easier way of putting it for everyone. There are 25 girls in the room, would you like to be the first guy in the room to get your pick. Or would you rather be the 13th and see whats left over. Well, Greg is into guys... j/k
  12. I don't know why I get pissed when I see Erstad starting and batting 5th... but then I remind myself, it only helps in the long run (as long as he isn't brought back next season).
  13. I have a couple fun facts for you... did you know Richar is actually hitting for a better average then Josh Fields, and that tonight, Richar accounted for one of those 4 hits? Also, Richar is anything BUT an automatic out.
  14. Richar is fine at 2B... so no, we don't need a new 2B.
  15. oh please be true! Ever since season 1 of 24, I have dreamed about this day... the only difference would have been that I was the guy.
  16. seriously, what is the purpose of having Myers on the team?
  17. The Dodgers really do like Hu from what I have read and Furcal does have that big contract, plus they have Pierre who could leadoff. I know this has been discussed before, but perhaps we could pawn off Contreras (and money for the 09 season) plus a prospect like McCulloch for Furcal...
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) I agree with you on that bullpen...but 1 problem...that still leaves us wanting another righty. If MMac and Thor could put up 06 type performances and stay healthy, then maybe a Masset or Aardsma would be able to fill that role just throwing junk innings, but can anyone guarantee me that they won't wind up repeating their 07 performances? well, I really don't think Masset would be good in the pen. From what I have seen, he is much better as the game goes on. However, I really don't want us to lose him but he is out of options. I think Broadway could very well be the 6th man in the pen as the mop up guy and spot starter. I would have no problem with a pen of: Jenks, Thornton, MacDougal, Wasserman, Logan, and Broadway. However, if Mac, Thornton, and the rest of the pen continue their struggles next season, hopefully one of Oneli Perez, Dewon Day, Carlos Vasquez, or even Sisco could come up not suck.
  19. backup LF/CF and pinch runner... that would be the perfect role for him.
  20. I'm not going to go into details, but my ideal lineup that might be possible would be something like: 1. Figgins, CF 2. Furcal, SS 3. Thome, DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Dye, RF 6. Pierzynski, C 7. Fields, LF 8. Crede, 3B 9. Richar, 2B I could see that team competing. However, it depends on how much it would cost to get both Furcal (Contreras + prospect(s)?), and Figgins (prospects?).
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) That's scary that Liefer put up those kind of numbers. He sucked. Hopefully Josh will be a Sox lifer not a Liefer. How dare you insult liefy like that... shame on you. Liefer is a sox lifer to me!
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) Luckily hes a free agent. ESPN the mag said McNabb is destined for chicago next season. Yeah, McNabb is likely gonna be cut by the Eagles to save some money for the Eagles, and in the draft they did spend a high second round pick on Kevin Kolb, I believe it was. And I'd have no problem with McNabb in Chicago. In fact, I'd love it.
  23. well, since it seems like there are about a total of 3 people who go to their games, it could have just been a stunt to get some laughs, cause they both probably suck and their season was over anyway.
