Papelbon is now the best closer in the game huh...

It baffles me how Ikojima does so good. He doesn't really have any stuff, it's just that he that head jerk and I guess that throws all the hitters off... Well, time for Holliday to run the party.

Lucy finally hit the ball today, going 2-3 with 2 RBI's. -
Say what you will, but I think this series can go either way. What hurt the rockies more then anything was that lay over, 8 days is a ridiculous amount of time to have off and try and stay hot. What the Rockies need tonight is a dominate start from Jimenez. If not, then this series is over.
-
Well, I just can't wait to watch Ubaldo Jimenez pitch in his start. Also, if the Rockies trade Atkins this offseason they are stupid.
-
I would still do this trade and I'm still happy with it.

Army of Two (EA's awesome looking co-op focused game) got delayed until Q1 of 2008. I am disappointed but then again, there are a lot of good games coming out in November (Cod4, Haze, Assassin's Creed), plus, I still wanna get GRAW 2 for the PS3.

Getting Carlos Gonzalez would be sick...
-
I could very well see Shelby playing a bench player role if he can play CF and 2B and play them, and not play them horribly bad. He has good speed, and looks like he has the ability to possibly hit some major league pitching.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) Why? You don't draft on need. If the best player available at eight is a SS (consensus, no question), I don't care if you have Jose Reyes in the system with Brandon Wood behind him -- I'm still taking that SS. If you end up having a logjam at the spot, that will be a good problem to have. I have a feeling the organization will focus on mainly pitching throughout the draft. And your forgetting, this is the White Sox, we don't do things like they should be done....
-
I think we can rule out SS as our first round draft pick next year.
-
eh, I change my mind about that trade... If I recall, Stewart is a pretty bad defender at 3B and if we get rid of Garland, that means Contreras is staying. However, I'd really like to see Spilborghs brought in for perhaps David Aardsma.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) Certainly an upgrade from using a Dual Shock, but still not equal to keyboard/mouse. have you used it?

QUOTE(StatManDu @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) 1997: Paco Martin, Greg Norton, Tony Pena, Tony Phillips, Chris Snopek Mario Valdez, Robin Ventura. The Sox also had six players man third base in 2000: Joe Crede, Tony Graffanino, Paul Koenerko, Greg Norton, Herbert Perry, Craig Wilson Mario Valdez and Craig Wilson were the s***.

Anyone have this or use this? http://gear.ign.com/articles/799/799262p1.html It looks like it could be really good to use in FPS, but I have heard mixing reviews. Either it's awesome or it sucks, never in between.

QUOTE(Chombi and the Fungi @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) It sounds good but I don't see them moving Ian Stewart. The guy is a stud. Although they are purely "rumors", everything I have heard is that if they make a deal @ 3b, it will be Atkins moving. My guess is he commands more on the market. If you ask me, Stewart right now is a B prospect/fringe A prospect. Now, potentially, Stewart can be better, but the Rockies have to ask themselves, do they want to take that risk? They know what they are going to get out of Atkins, and what they get is pretty damn good (20-30 homers, 290+ average, 100+ rbi's). Plus, their 8 position players seem set and with how they played late in the season, do they really want to change anything? I don't know, but I'd love if they made Stewart available and it would be great to get some more lefty power in this lineup. Spilborghs is blocked in Colorado and would only be a bench player. I have always thought highly of him and I think over a course of a season he can put up some pretty good numbers. Looking at his numbers, he does benefit at Coors, but everyone does, and on the road there is only a slight drop off. I think he and Owens would make a nice platoon option in center and in 300-400 AB's, he could put up numbers such as 15 homers, 60 RBI's, and a line of .345/.450/.280. Fuentes is in there mainly only because it doesn't look like he has a long term future there anymore and to even up the salaries some. Obviously the Rockies will want more starting pitching and I have heard they have been interested in Aardsma. This pretty much is my reasoning for the trade.
-
Even though I'd probably prefer to keep Galand, here would be my ideal trade: Garland and Aardsma to Colorado for Ian Stewart, Ryan Spillbourghs, and Brian Fuentes.
-
isn't everyone in the book actually gay?

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 08:09 AM) Absolutely - I certainly don't want him to go anywhere, but at the same time, it would be a great move for him. I would be happy for him... My feelings exactly.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) Do you know anything about the multiplayer GTA. Im normally not into any games but Madden but I would imagine that I could get into something like that if it is what I think it could be. Im imagining pretty much running street gangs, I may just be on a pipe dream but I think something like that can be very entertaining. it doesn't look like it will be massively multiplayer like some hoped but rather just team play or something.

Hey Greg, is there anyone who isn't "crap" according to you? I'm sure when Buehrle was coming up you labeled him as crap. Egbert might not have dominate stuff, but he has yet to fail. I can understand saying this season was a fluke if he previously was bad, but he has been good, if not great, his entire minor league career. Broadway, for a crappy pitcher, had some good movement and showed some good stuff in his cup of coffee this season. I think you are a little full of yourself if you think there is no shot at either of these guys, or the other ones you listed, at having no shot at succeeding. Hey, I bet according to you JoJo Reyes is going to be an ace and Joey Devine will be a dominate set up guy, because after all, Johnny S. did draft them! Seriously though, I got no problem if you think the prospects suck, but basically saying there is no chance at any of them every becoming productive players just plain pisses me off.

QUOTE(Chombi and the Fungi @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) Maybe. To me, Braun is potentially the best young hitter in all of baseball. Hughes is on that level from a pitching standpoint...somewhat. Someone mentioned Arod/Pujols. I honestly think he can be in that caliber offensively. That said, do I think Hughes can be on the level of Johan? Not really no. So the question becomes do you trade a guy under your control and has his potential, for a great pitching prospect and Wang? I wouldn't. I'd be like trading Pujols 3-4 years ago for Zito and Harden. Weird analogy but it was the first that popped into my head. It works a too. Zito IMO was better then Wang 3-4 years ago but hey. A better question should be. Can you get Wang and Hughes for Sheets? I think Braun played WAY over his head last season. I mean I think he will be a good hitter and all and make it to a few all-star games perhaps, but I doubt he becomes one of the leaugues elite hitters.
-
I'd trade Braun for Wang and Hughes any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Assassin's Creed looks awesome: http://www.gamespot.com/video/930022/61811...fficial-movie-3 Also, rumors are that GTA will have at least a 16 player online/multi player, and that there is a Resistance 2 in the works.
