Gary Glover in... he was dominant for me in MVP 2003. I will always remember that about him, and thank him for it .

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) doesn't this guy on Tampa have an earned run average of over five -- if not six? 5.34.... will probably lower under 5 after his shuts out the white sox over 8 innings.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) Sonnanstine has been underrated his entire professional career. Check out his stats, this kid can definitely pitch. If the freaking Dodgers can rough him up for 4 runs...

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) I just looked at that. I would doubt it, but who knows. As is, I doubt the Sox get much for Iguchi anyways... On a positive note, Sweeney has homered and walked in three PAs tonight. If we could get anything with an ounce of potential, thats a good deal. We won't get anything when he leaves via. free agency anyway.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 07:41 PM) Speaking of Richar, he's not playing tonight for Charlotte. Any possibility that Iguchi is going to be traded, and he's getting the call up? I don't know, but I sure hope so... also, I have a question... whats up with Josh Wilson?

6/27 games (somebody stole the Barons gloves)

Oh yeah, Sweeney homered as well. to right center it seems like according to gameday... good to see him pulling the ball. -
Well, I don't know about you guys, but I am loving the fact that some no name who doesn't have any good pitches is shutting down this offense.

Pods has got to go... you can leave Lisa behind, however.

Cintron throws like my sister and hits like my dog... I can't understand it either. We probably have the worst reserve combo with him and Andy Gonzalez... Prancer Dancer with the E, huh?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 05:33 PM) I read something on the MLB dodgers boards, from the DallasMorningNews, the the Rangers are apparently asking for Billingsley, Loney, and Clayton Kershaw for Tex (possibly Otska or Gagne included in the package). That my friends would be a much steeper price than a deal involving any one of those guys for Dye. I know Tex is younger and having a better season but he too is a FA at the end of the year and Bmore is reportedly willing to offer the moon for him. Tex won't be coming off the DL until after the break as well, and who knows how he'll do. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 06:03 PM) That's where I get a lot of my information from, they use the same logic I do when determining free agents, service time. I can't find any other source of information for free agents following the 2007 season. Atleast anything that lists Teixiera as a possibility. I love mlb4u, I use it all the time as well. Just thought I'd throw that in as well

Personally, next year I'd like to see Massett focus on starting in AAA next year. If he does good it only raises his trade value. If he does bad, oh well, he could still be salvaged as a bullpen arm, and at least we got Danks.

6/27 games (somebody stole the Barons gloves)
BearSox replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in FutureSox Board
Broadway isn't starting today... Instead Sisco started. So far through 3 IP, he has allowed 6 R (4 ER), 5 H, 2 HR, 1 BB, 1 K... -
Kemp for Dye would be a great deal... I think Kemp has been treated unfairly here. He got into that thing last year which was resolved quickly, and that thing with Young this year was settled quickly as well. If I am a GM, I want someone like Kemp on my team. He isn't insane, but he has a lot of heart and emotion. He'll get pissed and slam some things around and he'll be ejected every once in a while, but he won't be afraid to speak up. Look at our team right now, we have no one like him. It seems like the locker rooms would be filled with everyone in silence. We need someone vocal... that is what Carl Everett brought.

QUOTE(ChiSox35 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) How bout both and we get rid of Count? that isn't an option...

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 12:05 AM) I should say that I meant they have been busts SO FAR. And Prior has had about three decent years in the big leagues, so I shouldn't call him a bust. That being said you are kidding yourself if you think Gavin ends up being a #1 or #2 starter. why not? He has a plus fastball and a plus-plus curveball. He was drafted fourth overall in the thoughts of him ebing a future ace. He was rushed, IMO. Anything can happen, this is baseball... Also, I personally see him as a 2 or 3, but hey, thats just me.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) Heh, choice. Buehrle since he's the superior pitcher and all. oops, I made a booboo...
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Its 14 out of 25. I highly doubt either of those two amount to more than a #4 starter. A lot of the pitchers on that lists are busts because they got hurt. Thats the risk you take drafting a pitcher, especially a high schooler. Prior amounted to something more then a #4 starter. He amounted to becoming a cy young candidate and led the Cubs in the playoffs to almost a world series. And just because you don't think they will amount to anything more then a 4th starter doesn't mean they will. Floyd is still considered a possibly no. 2 or even 1. And if Prior finally leaves the Cubs, he can return his dominant stuff.

Who would you keep? Contract stuff and free agency aside, if you had to choose between the two, who would you pick?

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) You are assuming KW is a complete moron. He's not going to decide we are great if we start winning. I am not saying we are going to make a splash, but my god, why give up? What if somehow we start hitting (paulie, thome and aj were 6-12 tonight) and got red hot and crept close to .500 by the break. The Astros sucked a cuople years ago and rallied. Again ... I do not think this will happen, but to want us to lose I believe is ridiculous. I want the Sox to win every night. Am I alone in this??? Well yeah, if it WAS possible for the White Sox to win every night, I'd be down for that. Do I hope deep down that the White Sox will win every single game and win the world series, of course. Everyone does. But I am also a realist and a baseball fan, and right now winning doesn't help this team.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) The odds of Pedro not making it big are MUCH greater than him making it big. I have better things to do than dream about some guy who may or may not even make the bigs, stay healthy, etc. I mean what are the odds? Look at all the can't miss prospects who suck. CJ Henry. 5 tool player? Uh .200 hitter. There are no guarantees. I'd rather win now and worry about drafts later, but that's just me. Listen, I see what you are getting at. But all the games the Sox will be playing from here on out will either be pointless or to try and weaken someone else out of the playoffs. I love the White Sox and I don't like to see them suck, but hey, we do suck. I'd like us to get a top draft pick and be better off in the long run rather then getting another mid round pick, and probably another mediocre "safe" pick.
-
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Hope you are kidding. I want us to win every game we play. I mean do you want the Sox to lose every night? That is absurd IMO. Hey, I got no problem with the team losing everynight if it means we get Pedro Alvares/top player in the draft next year. We aren't making the playoffs this year, and we are severly lacking in top talent. I love the White Sox, but I'd have no problem with the team losing every single game from here on out. My prediction though is that for the next few weeks we play good, so KW thinks theres a chance, so doesn't trade anyone, and then in the 2nd half we are terrible again. That will piss me off more then anything.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) So, is Andy Gonzalez a decent player, or is he messing with us? I doubt he ever has two games in a row like this again in the majors or minors.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I want Richar, Sweeney, and Floyd up in July. With Contreras, Gooch, and Dye gone, correct?
