QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) He hurt himself again? Already? He strained a rip on a swing in his first AB today.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) I think everyone on here will despise KW if Buerhle doesn't get re-signed. And if Pods is brought back next year, I think KW should be fired imediately. I like Pods, but he's a potato chip. This team needs 3 new starting OFers. KW would probably also give Pods a NTC if he wanted one...

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) i know hes been killer on lefties...but 20 IP this year with a 4.09 ERA makes you one of hte best relievers in the game, i hope you were joking Make that a 3.91 ERA in 23 IP... -
I want Massett starting in AAA.

Hey, how often can you say this, but we have three players on our team who injured themselves by swinging! lmao.
-
Thome has been atrocious. He looks like he is swinging a soggy piece of bologna up there most of the time. He isn't swinging with the same kind of power. Either his back still hurts, or he is just trying not to re-injure it.

I think Kalapse made a post a couple days ago or so that was something like this... 1. He is still overweight. 2. He is consistantly losing velocity on his fastball and thats not good when it is as straight as an arrow. (I think he topped out at 94 today) 3. His elbow is held together by screws and is a major injury risk over the next few seasons. 4. Bad teams don't need top closers. 5. He has yet to be a consistent pitcher for longer then 1 half. With all that being said though, he still has a very good reputation around baseball and still has a ton of trade value. I would put him on the market, and if someone like the Braves would be willing to deal Salty and Escorbar, or to a lesser extent Lillibridge, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I would hope Kenny would to. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Some people act like it's good business for the Sox to suck the next 2-3 or more years. You think the owners of the team are going to want to be horses*** while rebuilding? You try to put the best team out there every year. Trading Jenks would be moronic. There would be no closer and just another reason to lose more games. It is almost impossible for any GM to put out a good team that could compete every year with this old as hell lineup and pretty terrible farm. Believe it or not, a rebuilding is the best possible thing any GM could do to this team.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) I'm a big Boone fan as well but a loogy should never be untouchable. untouchable was a bad usage of words by me. I should have said traded only for a real good prospect/player.

ohh... maybe we could sign our next Gustavo Molina!

Just remember all, when everyone is calling him T-Boone in a couple of years, I came up with that nickname. -

Is it okay if I call him "T-Boone"....? lol, I love this quote... -
QUOTE(GreenSox @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) What would they give us for one of these pitchers? A real, legitimate top rank prospect? If so, great. Otherwise, why bother trading? And we certainly don't need one of the spare mediocre outfielders. Tony Gwynn isn't a top ranked prospect, and that is why it would be stupid to deal Logan or Thornton for him. However, if it was a top prospect, maybe someone like Lorenzo Cain, then KW should consider possibly dealing Thornton. Boone should be untouchable right now, unless we get a great offer.

Jenks to Atlanta for Salty and Escobar... get it done KW!

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:02 AM) I don't see DLS landing in BHam. well, he should. IMO, him spending a half a season in W-S would be a waste of pitches.
-
Eggy and Gio belong in Charlotte ASAP! With Floyd likely to get called up when Buehrle is traded which will likely happen any day now, and Nunez being pretty much a filler, there should be no problem with getting them in the AA rotation. And then you could promote DLS and McCulloch to Birmingham. And after 1 more hopefully good start, Poreda should be promoted to Kanny to replace DLS.

Dye, you suck. Maybe stop sucking and then maybe you can talk. But until then, STFU.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) I'll change it daily for awhile, probably, before I return to the I Remember Montreal avatar. Is that another wrestler? If so, which one is it? I can't quite make it out.

Ellsbury got called up today by the Red Sox and played in todays game. so far 1-4 with an infield single...

Podsednik, LF Gonzalez, RF Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Iguchi, 2B Fields, 3B Terrero, CF Uribe, SS Hall, C It really looks as if those 2 games Andy had in freaking Tampa Bay is going to lead to him getting around 250-300 AB's from here on out. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 05:45 PM) Lineup Time. Pods, LF Gonzo, RF Thome, DH Kong, 1B Gooch, 2B Fields, 3B Terrero, CF Uribe, SS Hall, C Danks on the mound And again, what's keeping Dye from going on the DL? Beat me to it... and it is obvious Kenny is going to try and trade Dye and him go on the DL would mean more games missed most likely. But from the sound of things, it doesn't sound like Dye will be returning anytime soon. He was suppossed to be back on tuesday or wednesday. That didnt happen.

I still wish we had kept Ring. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) Missing Gary Majewski, he had a great year last year, as for this year Im not too sure how hes faired. He's in the minors now cause he got rocked for early on this season.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) Yeah, Borchard is kicking ass in Florida. .196/.294/.323/.617 I don't know. I don't have time to meamorize stats. Last time I checked he wasn't doing horrible.
-
You know what, KW and co. all had the right idea, but it was horrible, pitiful execution. All of the negotiations should have been under closed doors, and there shouldn't have been this much info released.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 09:26 AM) Thornton isn't a competent reliever and I have yet to see a Sox prospect that was good enough to be a 4th OF. Borchard is doing a decent job with Florida. And you are saying that Sweeney isn't even good enough to be a 4th outfielder? What about Rowand. He was once a sox prospect. Oh, and Thornton isn't a competent reliever? get real.
