  1. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) I don't dislike Jenkins, but he is very streaky. Usually a classic 2nd half player. And he'd take left with Sweeney in right, if they were both starting. Jenkins has a strong enough arm to play RF and is very good in the outfield. Also, I am more of a believer in having left handed left fielders and right handed right fielders. Unless the left handed guy had an absolute canon arm, but Sweeney's arm isn't a canon, he just has an above average arm.. Plus, that seems to be the White Sox philosphy as Sweeney has only played CF and LF in the minors this season (and last), and in his brief stint in the majors. When Dye was DH, instead of putting Sweeney in RF, they left him in at Left.
  2. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 01:53 AM) Does ANYBODY play Resistance: Fall of Man online? If so, PM me your screenname so I can own you all day. I haven't played in a while, but when I did, I owned. ps3 sn - MPB.
  3. QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) Speaking of the Marlins, I would like to see Hanley Ramirez in a Sox uniform. He would be the premier leadoff hitter in the game for many many years to come. There is a better chance of Rosie O'Donnell playing for the White Sox then there is for Hanley Rmirez. Plus, Hanley Ramirez has to potential to be a premire no. 3 hitter for years to come. I wouldn't waste him leading off.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) isnt this a day game? 6:05 start...fireworks afterwards I believe.
  5. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Is that when he just calls everything strikes and even moonwalks at one point? yep, and he does all these dances. And he has to find the gunman, so he searches everyone by padding them down... so funny.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) Bears have to the 15th to negotiate a long term deal with Briggs, otherwise he is essentially forced to sign the 1 year deal (well I guess it is actually briggs that has till the 15th of this month). I actually think the 15th is on a Sunday so they technically will get one extra day. Yes....I read where Rosenhaus has came to the Bears and proposed some different options about the Briggs situation. I still want Briggs back and would love for the two sides to work out a "fair" deal. Say what you want about him, but he is one of the best OLB's in the league and has always played his butt off every season in Chicago. I disagree, he's good, but Urlacher and this D made him what he is today.
  7. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 01:23 PM) Thats disgusting, I didnt watch it and I guess Im glad. I really wouldnt want to see someone trying to eat stuff they regurgitated. I only watched it cause I was bored and nothing else was on. I wasn't expecting him to do that, and I kinda wish I hadn't watched it.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) If there is ever a case for an umpire to be fined for missed calls, look at the play that helped Houston tie it in the 9th against Philly. Bases loaded, Caballo up, 1 out, 4-3 Philly. Double play ball, ump calls Lee safe at first when he was clearly out, tie game now, and Houston has a chance to win it. Speaking of missed calls, I was watching naked gun 1: files from police squad. At the end, when Frank is the umpire, HI-larious! And, I'd like to think that umps get fined for blown calls.
  9. USA, greatest country in the world! It is amazing this country is only 231 years old.
  10. I was watching this... that Kobayashi practically threw up all the food in his mouth at the end, it was sick. And then he tried to re-eat it and the rest of the hot dogs. He's such a sore loser, and his jaw didn't look stiff to me. GO USA, woot!
  11. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 09:38 AM) As much I really don't want Geoff Jenkins, he'd be the kind of signing I'd expect from the White Sox - someone not that expensive, but who is a veteran, and maybe a change of scenary helps. I really don't see what there is to dislike about Geoff Jenkins so much? Please enlighten me.
  12. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 10:00 AM) I love these ridiculous chocked-full-of-prospects lineups that people float out there that would A. never happen, and B. not be nearly as good as people think they would. As for how far I'd take the firesale, I'd trade Dye, Iguchi and Contreras, then stop it there. If I were KW and Ozzie would be unwilling to give Brian Anderson another shot, I'd trade him, too. It worked pretty good for the Marlins didn't it?... but then again, we wouldn't have Joe Giardi.
  13. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) I know this is from frustration, but I am glad your are not the GM or we could be in for a real long look at the cellar. This season, Dye hasn't offered anything Terrero doesn't. We'd be out of our head if we thought we could get anything worth while for Dye. I doubt he bats over .200 this season. And if we offer him arb in the offseason, no team will sign him because the draft picks wouldn't be worth it. Oh, and I love all that hustle he has. Either he still can't run and is injured, or he is just a lazy bum. Our best hope would be able to package him with maybe Buehrle to the Dodgers or something.
  14. I was watching the Dodgers and Braves game tonight, it got me thinking, where's our James Loney, Matt Kemp, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Yunel Escobar, etc. With that being said, I am very depressed right now. Hey, at least we signed/are going to sign some big time latino talent! oh wait...
  15. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) How bout Mr. LTP himself, Joe Borchard? All he does is hit the occasional ball very far. Seems like the perfect situation for him. I mentioned him a bit earlier. He'd put on a show.
  16. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) If you're thinking about buying Rainbow Six Vegas for the PS3, rent it first. The online play is absolutely terrible. I have no problems with the online play... what makes it so much better for the 360? QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) holy cow...
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) I can't wait for Alex to erase Bonds.I can't wait for Pujols to erase both of them.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) Guilllen speaks about Pods....they better not even think about bringing him back next year. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines are they finally realizing this?
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) Young, his last name is Young. Are you sure?
  20. Logan Johnson went 3 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's... get him up to Kanny please. Put Shelby in the OF.
  21. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) You know that slow motion Dye commercial with all the stats? I'm starting to think it's in real speed. I just want him gone... DFA him for all I care. No team is going to sign him next year if we offer him Arbitration.
  22. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Just think Dick Allen, Tonight's 9 inning, one run performance by Javy could be turned into like 8 or 9 saves!!!!!!! Damn, another "average" start tonight by Javy. Time for someone to take the ball from him.
