QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) If Vaz keeps pitching the way he is, he could fetch a f***ton in a trade. yeah, but why would we want to trade him if he can pitch like this? The rebuilding process just got a lot quicker if we can keep a rotation of Buehrle, Garland, Vazquez, Danks. I say we offer Garland a similar contract in the offseason and get him signed. Trade Count now for whatever garbage we can get him for. Then next spring training have another open competition with Gio, Floyd, Broadway, etc. I'd also trade Jenks as I don't think it is a smart idea to trust him in the long run when he will likely be barely hitting 91 on the gun.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Chris who? It's catching on!

at least we have something to look forward to next year. he should probably be in the top 3 prospects for us next year.
-
I love how he has his ear tucked under his hat... I used to do that

DLS looks a little antsy to me.

Faustino with a very good moving fastball and a great curve... Even though he has got rocked by Upton and just hit a batter, I'm excited.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) I'm not down with trading Garland at all. same here, keep the core. Hell, I want Javy to stay as well. -

f***ing sweet... I don't know about you guys, but a core of Buehrle, Garland, Danks, and even Vazquez is very nice. -
GAS! Chris who? uno, dos, tres...

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) Since being recalled, Owens has hit .389, OBP of .421, and a couple of stolen bases. Now why is Mackowiak playing? And that in what, 4 AB's?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) I don't think I could care less about this game. futures game is on espn 2 at 3... something to look forward to.

Owens, CF Iguchi, 2B Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Pierzynski, C Fields, 3B Mackowiak, LF Terrero, CF Uribe, SS Seriously, why is Jerry Owens on a major league roster, let alone starting in CF? At least have him in LF with Terrero in CF and Mack in RF. also, Dye is still mysteriously out. His leg probably snapped off yesterday, and to cover it up to still keep his trade value high (KW probably think Dye still has trade value), they made up a strange flu bug he is ill with.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) If we are talking about line drives back to the pitcher, Billy Wagner has to be on the list. Matt Clement had a pretty bad one...

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) Wasn't it ASB Sunday that we traded for Freddy? I think it was a Sunday or two before. some guy's idea just now was Buehrle for Crawford and Kazmir... omg. I'd do that in a heartbeat, but does that caller know anything about baseball?
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) At times, I just hate Sox fans. I'm listening to this AWFUL show on the Score where Offman is having a fantasy GM segment where retarded callers pitch their ridiculous trade proposals. My 2 favorite: Uribe, Crede and Vazquez for Ichiro and Luis Castillo and Jon Garland for Chone Figgins (caller: "I'm not sure the Angels would do it") honorable mention goes to the most menial of them all: Iguchi and Hall for Miguel Olivo (apparently the Marlins need a 2B) Now a new cub fan has a brilliant idea of Marshall, Patterson, and some other crap for Buehrle and Dye.

I predict a trade happens tonight...

QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) who's ready for ncaa football? omg.... 9 days! going to reserve it sometime this week.

today, or rather yesterday, was a bad day for a bad farm...

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 09:48 PM) Even though I'm mad now, I'll be ok with everything if we get good value in return. same here...

Please fire Kennith Williams... he is back to arrogant and stupid ways. I thought maybe after 05 that hey, maybe he has finally learned from his mistakes as a GM and knows what he is doing... But now I know that was false and he is still the same GM he was 6-7 years ago.
-
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) Um, that is exactly what they just did. I know, but with no option this time. Just the original deal that Kenny offered him... I guess no one counters Kenny and gets away with it.
-
It just makes no sense. If you sign him now, and if Buehrle keeps this season up, we could get a TON for Buehrle in the offseason. Or if we wanted to keep him but we struggle again next season we could trade him next deadline and still get a TON for him. Just really idiotic and I am very confident that this was Buehrle's last start now. What's next? Buehrle and the agent concede to a 4 year 56 mil deal with no NTC and Kenny turns it down saying it was too late?
-
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 10:10 PM) Basically Buerhle's side removed the full NTC demand but added an 5th year option ($17) that would kick in if he was traded, and the Sox refused. wow, that is ridiculous... it really looks like my feeling that KW and the org. just want to trade Buehrle now is true.

for me being lazy and not wanting to read 10 pages pf discussion... could someone get me up to speed on the situation?
