hopefully with this little resurgence we can get something good for him... he's texas bound after this year anyway.
-
those were the worst 3.5 days of my life....
-
I think his future is in the pen anyway...

Javy Vazquez.....now what do we do??
BearSox replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
oh poop: http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-bl..._by_mets_r.html "Every potential trade partner asks about Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Yunel Escobar, of whom Schuerholz said: “Those two guys are known to be two of the finest young players in the game.” Of Salty in particular: “I don’t have any intention of trading him.”" "There is, however, one tweak this team might make involving a former Brave who just became a former Met. Julio Franco was released Thursday. “We like Julio,” Schuerholz said. “We like the impact he had in our clubhouse. There’s interest there, yes.”" (copied from a Braves message board. post by viperxx79) I hope it is something to just drive up the price of Salty cause I still have dreams of him being in a White Sox uniform and I don't want those dreams to die. -
Kendall Boyd of EA stated that Madden will be at 60 fps for the ps3.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 07:56 AM) I'd pass. The sox don't need a Salty type of player. They have C filled w/ AJ, who should be signed after 2008, and can't move Salty to 1B with PK around. Any big move should net the sox a speedster type of ballplayer. I don't know if you noticed, but AJ isn't doing what he is mainly paid to do, HIT. I am tired of watching him either pop out to LF or ground out to 2B for a easy DP. He calls a good game, usually, but his D is probably worse then his offense. Salty would be a major upgrade over AJP. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 11:48 PM) So convenient that people bring this thread back up after we have a bad offensive night. Doesn't mean anything we've scored 6 runs a game this month. NOTE: I do no at all condone the keeping of Greg Walker as hitting coach. Just stating an observation. A team compiled of todlers could average 6 runs a game against some of the pitching we have been facing.

Madden 2008 for the ps3 WILL be 60 fps, but NCAA will still be at 30 fps for the ps3. Good news.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
BearSox replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I'm a big Ian Stewart fan, so I would want him. With Garrett Atkins at 3B, Helton at 1B, and the OF pretty much set, there really isn't much space for him. Contreras wouldn't get it done, but maybe we could add something? -
Javy Vazquez.....now what do we do??
BearSox replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
As much as I love Javy and would want to see him stay, replace Jo-Jo Reyes with Yunel Escobar, and I'd carry Javy down to Atlanta. Plus, Atlanta is one short flight away from puerto rico, so Javy should be happy down there. -
Jose Martinez, whoever the hell that is, homered again tonight...

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) What was the publication that said he couldn't maintain his velocity at his current arm angle without hurting himself? I think it was the baseball report or something. found it... http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/...nd-picks-21-30/

Hunter Pence or Dustin Pedoria would look pretty damn good wearing black and white.... oh well/ It just pisses me off and also saddens me that out scouting system is so freaking bad.
-
another great pick by a great scouting staff....

Albert Belle interested in owning White Sox
BearSox replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) 28 including Greg Walker and Billy Williams did it 3 times (he also had a 164 GP season.) I know you know this, but just to remind you, you are the man. -
that soxtalk logo with sock and baseball is just unbelievably awesome... that all I want to say. You put that on a picture of richard simmons and that picture would look good. New Banner is awesome. Also, Podsednik says he will be ready next week for the cleveland series and be 100% in all aspects. I hope he is and has a nice week or so and then we could get something decent for via trade.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) I had a Belle jersey when he was with the Sox. Saw him a few times in person. He was a helluva player. More than you'd think. Happens all the time when players are traded mid-season. yeah, but Belle spent that whole season with the White Sox... -

I loved Belle. I was a big fan of his. He did play 163 games for us in one year! Seriously, how many players can say they played in 163 games in one season? -
Mariners looking to lock up Ichiro long-term
BearSox replied to iamshack's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Ichiru has officially re-signed with the mariners. The Sox will NOT pony up for AROD and even though Hunter said "he likes playing in the Cell" he will cost too much for KW and JR's liking. This team will go after guys like Castillo, Rowand and Byrnes in the offseason and i honeslty can see KW getting all of them. Kosuke Fukodome should be a target. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) As far as Crede goes, he will finish off his contract with the Sox and hope to up his value as he heads into free agency. The Sox can benefit from this as he hopes to rebound fast from his back troubles. Fields will spend 1 more season in Triple-A or he will battle out for that final outfield spot with Sweeney in spring training. No way are the White Sox will pay Crede 5 million when it he is a huge question mark. Basically, JR and KW will shake hands with Crede, say good bye, and wish him luck. Fields will be the everyday 3B. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) My biggest question is the SS possition... does KW take that $5million option on Uribe? Or does he make a trade and aqcuire a younger SS? I can see us getting a new SS this season as a part of a deal with either Dye of Contreras... I want to say Uribe won't be returning, but with Ozzie and KW, you never know. I really want Khalil Greene. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) We will starting seeing moves within the next week or so... I hope you are right, cause I have a bad feeling KW will stand pat. -
I got a free issue of Baseball America yesterday and it had a nice article about DLS. Basically, he has a mid 90's fastball with good movement, and a curve/slurve. He has been working on a changeup and is developing a sinker. Right now his changeup is no good as it is too hard in the 84 mph range. Let me say this, if he can develop the sinker and changeup to be just decent pitches, boy oh boy, do we have something.
-
I'm interested as well.
-
wow, Eggy and DLS are ridiculous. These two, especially DLS, need a promotion.
