Sox interested in Orlando Hudson/Elijah Dukes
BearSox replied to coolgreen13's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) He's not starting on my team. He's playing the Ozuna role instead, while given Hudson ample time off to keep him away from the DL. Hudson hates getting days off and thinks he should be out there everyday until he is about 41. Per Rotoworld: But then this is what Melvin said in reply to that... -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 05:58 PM) Honestly, I won't be upset if Buehrle is traded. Not that I don't believe he's a good pitcher or important to the franchise, it's just, I'm not confident we'll be in position to reach the playoffs until 2010. No one from within can replace Buehrle, yes, but I'm more confident Gonzalez can replace his production than positional prospects replacing Iguchi or Dye. Yes, even Dye and his .220 average. I will be upset if Buehrle is traded for nothing. Even considering the possibility whichever team trades for him won't resign. As has been discussed before, the various ways of collecting talent is limited with the White Sox. Williams needs to come ahead in trades. If we're offered crap for Buehrle, may as well retain him until the end of the season and take the draft picks. Whether they're for the 30 range or not. agreed!

How about Buehrle and Dye to LA for Kemp, Betemit, and Meloan/Hu?

QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) i'd have rather sent gonzalez up than aj... he's just not with it now. excitement & suspense = 50 mph meatball pitches??? You vastly underrate the power of the dancing knuckleball. -
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) How much are you willing to pay? I've got the $400 system, MLB 2K6, Call of Duty 2, and NHL 07, along with another wireless controller. I had Madden 07 and MLB 2K7, but those two got eaten. I could give you MLB 2K7 anyway but I doubt it works anymore because it has a huge circular scratch on it. I've already got an offer for $350. I've heard that that is the going rate. If you are willing to pay more PM me and tell me about it and we'll work something out. I'd trade you straight up for a 10 inch Dobsonian telescope, but I doubt you're intrested in astronomy, so you probably don't have one. well, I'm not interested right now, just wanted to see what the going rate was... And I don't have a telescope, but I did study astronomy... QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I'm playing MVP Baseball 2005 on PS2 right now. In my opinion it's the best baseball game ever made. I would say MVP 2007 NCAA is better but since it is college, 2005 gets the nod... also, I think MVP 2005 is not only THE best baseball game ever made, but in top 10 of all games ever made. I don't think I ever spent more time playing a different game.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) He played before the game last night and did the national anthem. songs were great, kinda messed up the high note on the anthem, though. yep, the pre-game entertainment with him playing songs were pretty good. The national anthem wasn't so hot though.

http://www.armchairgm.com/index.php?title=Kosuke_Fukudome I've heard a lot about this guy and I must say, after looking at that article I posted, he seems very intriguing. He has been said to be a mixture of Hidiki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki. The guy plays very good D as he has won 4 GG's in the outfield, and he has a good arm (from what I have read.) Plus, he has some serious pop, and can hit for average, and has above average speed. This guy is sounding like he will be this offseason "Dice-K" but teams won't have to buy negotiation rights as he will be a free agent. Teams that have said to be interested in him are the Giants, Yankees, Red Sox, and Mariners. Thoughts?

Hey... probably no matter what Gavin does, it will look good compared to this game. -
If we do go after Ichiro, I'd assume Iguchi might be staying...

QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) Don't mean to question you, but I didn't think the option was for the season, I think it's the number of times a player can be sent back to the minors. Can this be confirmed by someone ? A player gets three option. If a player gets optioned at some point during a season, he can be called up or sent down at anytime during that season. It does not carry over and if you want to option the same person in a different year, you have to use another option.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) Didn't see this posted yet, but www.chisox.com reports Mac has a sore shoulder and went on the DL and Day has been reinsttaed. Day pitched a rehab at Charlotte and had 3 scoreless innings before being brought back up. Is this the same type of mystery injury Politte had last year? Hopefully Day is healthy.
