  1. is there a place where you can watch that stuff?
  2. http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/07/03/store-...at-less-than-1/ xbox 360 has a failure rate of 33% like mentioned above, but the failure rate for the ps3 and wii is less then 1%... Also, how is Twilight Princes for the Wii... I just want a Wii for that one game, since I am a Zelda geek.
  3. This article was written by their Cubs writer, so you know it just isn't just a White Sox (or cub hater) writer being biased... not that I ever thought it was as this site rocks no matter what anyone says
  4. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) I have decided to sell my Xbox 360 after it ate yet another one of my games. That system is so poorly designed it isn't funny. I am going to give Microsoft a nasty phone call about the s***ty quality of the 360. I'll take what I can get and wait for a price drop in the PS3 which is bound to happen sooner or later. The price drop is about to happen sooner rather then later. In fact, try in 11 days... http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3160820 The price is going down 100 dollars on the 17th, same day NCAA Football 08 comes out. Believe me, it is worth it. The games aren't that good yet, but the graphics are terrific (better then the 360 in fabulous 1080p picture) and the system itself is very powerful and very convinent. Plus, since BluRay DVD's beat out HDDVD's, the PS3 will act as a bluray player at a fraction of the price of what a regular bluray player would cost. Welcome to the dark side young jedi Also, just curious, how much are you gonna sell the 360 for? I need one for when Halo comes out...
  5. well, hopefully when he gets some more work his arm will get looser and he will gain some velocity.
  6. Glad to see him doing good. He looked good in that one scouting video of his from when we signed him.
  7. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Patterson would be quite the feather in the cap, but you'd have to offer him 1st round supplemental type money for him even to consider signing. That being said, I think Griffith will sign but the others will not unless we start offering them 3rd-5th round money. well, we should offer them 3rd-5th round money. We have plenty of money, but little positional player talent. Take a chance for once KW and co!
  8. Might as well post the new gamethread now before I forget. IIRC, Baker's last outing was a gem where he only gave up 1 run on 3 hits in 8 innings against a very tough Detroit offense. We could have our hands full tomorrow. Plus, we aren't facing the Devil Rays, Royals, or Orioles anymore. It is 4 games against an above .500 "pirannah" Twins team.
  9. Heard on the postgame show on my way back tonight, Gavin is making his debut in the second game, Garland will start the first game. Sorry NSS72, I just ruined some of that ticket value .... this tells me that if Floyd does good tomorrow night, a trade would be imminent. Cause if they were just planning on using Floyd for one game and then sending him back down, he would have started the 1st game. And I hope to god Kenny and Oz aren't planning on putting him in the pen.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 05:53 PM) He won't be as good defensively as Joe. But moving him to LF was a main option for him if Crede got resigned. We did it with Carlos Lee. Carlos Lee got moved to LF because he was a horrible defensive third baseman.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Does anyone really think Jon Garland (27 yo, 3.15 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 142 ERA+) is going to accept a 4 year $14M per deal like Buehrle? Mark is making some HUGE concessions here both in terms of years and dollars, what makes anyone think Jon Garland is going to do the same? I really don't think there's a chance in he does which means he probably won't be with the team beyond 2008. Call me crazy, but I think the org. likes Jon Garland better and would rather sign him long term and give him the NTC. It just seems to me that writting has been on the wall with the Danks and Gio trades, and then the drafting of Poreda.
  12. a good overall day for me today... First, we get better sets then we expected cause my brother's company coincidently couldn't use their tickets the same day we were going. Instead of sitting way back in the bleachers, we got season ticket sides on the firstbase side, closer to home then 1B, and row 27. Fabulous seats. And when we were pulling in, the car in front of us and gave the usher an extra parking pass they had to give to the next car, so we saved 15 bones! It just got better and better. I should go to games more often.
  13. Side note... when Dye got pulled today, I was hoping that meant he just got traded...
  14. is it possible Poreda got promoted or something? I'll laugh and then cry if I find out he is/has been having arm probelms. Eggy = stud. He has lowered his ERA to 2.8 now, and with 101 K's this season now, he only trails Gio (who has 110). I'm not Anderson fan, but I hope he gets another shot to raise trade value and/or show us that he's worth keeping in CF everyday. Also, Richar turns out to be good... is he supposed to be a leadoff type of hitter? cause he hasn't been hitting like, rather like a no. 3 guy. Logan Johnson didn't play tonight... I hope that means he got promoted.
  15. I hope Griffith pitches this weekend.
  16. Yeah, I am sure Danks hates the fact he had to go one more inning. PUH-lease, let the kid pitch. His pitch count was obscenely high and he pitched well all day. Let the pitcher pitch, 2 run lead or 20 run lead.
  17. woot... I don't know what I would do if I never found this board. Probably be on the official forums *shudders*
  18. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) best point: the only problem with that is that Buehrle is also our only real trading chip for top talent. Unless KW decides to deal Jenks.
  19. like I said, it would be wisest to try and involve him in a package and pay some of his salary.
  20. Sweeney a cheaper version of Borchard is one of the worst comparisons I have ever heard. And saying that Owens is/will be better then Sweeney is pretty darn laughable as well. In Owens short stint in the majors so far, he has shown that he is not a major league hitter. I don't give a crap if he also lead the SL in homers and rbi's, he ain't gonna do anything in the majors unless he gets a total overhaul with his swing, and Greg Walker ain't the guy you want working on someone's swing.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) I'd absolutely love Orlando Hudson, he's the best defensive secondbaseman in the game, will only be 30 next year, has good contact, decent power, pretty good speed and good plate discipline. I don't know what the hell they'd want for him but I could definitely see KW being interested in the O-Dog. That makes two of us (3 if you count Rowand44 )... It said he is unhappy in Arizona... why is that?
  22. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) Floyd will stay and Day might not get activated right away as he may need some rehab time at Charlotte. In the meantimne a starter, most likely Contreras gets traded and we will see what develops from there. Floyd probably gets his spot. The Richar kid might get a call up too to replace someone else. You never know. Day has been rehabing. In his 3 games in rehab so far, he has allowed no runs or hits, 2 walks, and has struck out 5. He's probably ready.
  23. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) I'd like to see him throw down about four wins in a row and send Jose to the bullpen. How about we just send Jose packing now? We can't keep that 10 million a year pricetag in the bullpen.
  24. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) Would you trade Thornton? With Logan looking pretty solid, would Thornton get a good enough return in a trade? Esp. as he just signed a 3 yr deal, and he gets more expensive in '08 and '09 [only making 550 k this yr]. Relievers are notorious for being one yr wonders. And if Thornton can't get lefties out, [they're hitting over .300 vs. him this yr] why get stuck with a big contract for the next two years? If Thornton could net the sox a B+ prospect, some teams 6th-10th best prospect, I'd bite. probably a borderline A prospect.
  25. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) Why rebuild, though? I think of what the Sox need to do as retooling, because they aren't far away from being a top AL team right now. Certain aspects, or mainly the bullpen, need to be rebuilt, and the offense could use a little life, but there's no reason to embark on a three- to four-year rebuilding process. The reason the Marlins did it was because they don't want to pay guys like Beckett, Lowell, Delgado, Pudge or even Burnett. I think the assumption was that they were gutting the team, keeping the two marquee players (Willis and Carbrera) and moving to Vegas, but I don't know how much truth there is to that. A re-tooling might help this team win a couple more games but still amount to nothing. Look at this team, it is full of slow degressing players. It needs a lot of youth, talent, and speed.
