Floyd is the man... how bad is that trade looking for the Phillies right now?
-
Well, the one pitcher for the Brewers in AAA threw a perfect game the other day... I'm sure Kenny would do everything he could to get him...
-
This just brings false hope, and Pedro Alvares is slowly slipping out of our grasps...
-
gosh darn it. 11 runs in 2 games vs. the Devil Rays = Greg Walker's job is safe for another year...
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) Well, counting on Pedro is the problem here. There are absolutely no indications thus far that he will be able to pitch effectively IF he does in fact return. Additionally, I think it's pretty clear-cut. You bump Perez or Maine. Come on now? You have the World Series on the line and you're going to pitch John Maine or Oliver Perez over Mark Buehrle? You bump out Sosa, and if Pedro returns you bump out Duque. To take out Maine or Perez would be idiotic, IMO.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Correct. I am not a fan of Gomez. I believe he is the overhyped flavor of the week. I think Fernando Martinez is the real deal. Include him or get nothing.
-
yep, Keith Law and ESPN know all...
-
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) And we are happy that you are not...
-
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 07:26 AM) Any talks with the Mets would begin with Fernando Martinez. Anything other than him and I am not interested in dealing with the Mets.So if they would offer Carlos Gomez... no deal? lmao.

Cardinals Interested in Buehrle?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 10:13 AM) I still think Schillings shoulder is the wildcard here. As of right now it looks like he'll miss 2 starts but the team doesn't know for sure. If he has a setback Epstein could get antsy.Beckett is also an injury waiting to happen. If he goes down, Kenny will be licking his chops. -
If we get a top 5 pick in the 2008 draft.....

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 12:17 AM) I'd read his sig for that: "Alvarez is being called a lefthanded Albert Pujols in the making." - Aaron Fitt - Baseball America A bit much probably, but he's considered a superstud. Yeah, I saw that. But I want to hear who daa84 whould compare him to, not Aaron Fitt... -
My prediction - Garland will pitch another gem, but still wind up getting the L

Josh Fields started off kinda slow, but then got hot, and now looks terrible... I blame Greg Walker.

hey daa84... who would you compare Alvares to? -
Well, it all depends on if Minaya thinks Contreras is one piece that will undoubtedly increase his chances of getting the team to the world series. If so, one of these guys that everyone is mentioning for Contreras shouldn't be a problem.

I really only watch sports center and all those other sports shows mainly because of the highlights. And not all of the analysis is bad, but most of it is. But hey, at least they have Kenny Mayne on once in a while this year
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) Watching ESPNEWS, the Sox highlights came on, and the anchor was talking about how bad the Sox offense was, but how "this kid Andy Gonzalez" could be the answer for the Sox.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) I'd stick him in the 3 hole and find my leadoff hitter elsewhere. I as well.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) I agree with him. Jose Contreras: 5-8 Equivalent: Carlos Silva (MIN) (5-8) Mark Buehrle: 4-4 Equivalent: Brian Bannister (KC) (4-4) John Garland: 4-5 Equivalent: Aaron Cook (COL) (4-5) Javier Vazquez: 3-5 Equivalent: Matt Chico (WAS) (3-5) John Danks: 4-6 Equivalent: Kameron Loe (TEX) (4-6) So the White Sox starting rotation is essentially: 1.)Carlos Silva 2.)Brian Bannister 3.)Aaron Cook 4.)Matt Chico 5.)Kameron Loe Surely the Starting staff could pitch better than this, I mean come on Carlos Silva is not a #1 starter. now, compare the ERA's....
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) Nice to see it is official. We should have an interview with him up in the coming week or so. OT, but wasn't our second round pick last year, Matt Long, a redhawk as well?
-
Logan Johnson looks like he has potential to be at the very least, a utility infielder, and possibly more.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) I don't remember that. But I might have said it........back when he had a 17 game winning streak and was one of the most dominant pitchers in the MLB. you mean before he turned 100?
-
Well, there goes any chance of Jordan Danks being drafted now, and I dont freaking care, if we got the top pick and we pass on the top player because of who his agent is, well F KW then.
-
QUOTE(mu mu @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) We get to play a team that might be as bad as we are. No, the Devil Rays are no where as near as bad as we are.

My trade idea w/ Anderson is him to ATL for Brent Lillibridge.
