Jimmy Carter, ex-president, current badass.
Here's a poll to help out Pratt, shows Carter as the second worse President of all time. Clinton is up there also. You have to take the survey, or click on a second link to see voter results. The l,ink is to an article on the Ten Worse of all time.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) Yes, that is actually real. The image is hosted at http://www.gopconvention2008.com/media/logo/logo_600.jpg. It may be a stereotype, but aren't many graphic artsists more liberal leaning? You know, just thinking how this may have happened Later, after sparking a bowl, two artists laugh, high five, and say, can you believe they bought it?!

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:46 AM) Ooooh, I got the exact number wrong. Doesn't change any of the rest of the point, or its validity. Carter's rescue missions were idiotic and ill-conceived. It was what military leaders thought was the best option to get the hostages out alive. Saving the lives of the hostages was the #1 goal. Not proving how big his balls were. Stealth was the plan. He gave the order to abort the mission when the weather turned bad, against the forecast. With the problems they were having, aborting sure seemed like a good idea. Remember this was 25 years ago and a lot of technology you may take for granted wasn't invented yet. I remember studying this in current events and now you in a history class. Wait until your kids talk about Mission Accomplished in 30 years. I am certain you will not recognize the events either.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) Sure, by that definition. And by that definition, we've been invaded. But if we're going to say, "OH, HE DIDN'T INVADE IRAN!!!" bulls*** he didn't. He sent four helicopters into Iran -- silly on its face -- and then changed his mind and he thought that was a good idea? Ha Would you feel better if he sent eight along with planes? And at the time, the 1972 Munich Olympics, and watching 11 Israeli athletes getting murdered after a failed military action weighed heavily on the country. Caution, and a different approach seemed like a good idea. Now tell us it doesn't matter how many helicopters and planes the military sent

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) I don't give a s*** what he or his defenders called it. You send your troops, your planes, your spies into someone's sovereign land against their wishes, that is an invasion. From this you get we were invading Iran with 4 helicopters? Sure.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) Carter invaded Iran with four helicopters. It's funny and it's true and it's terrible all the same. Recheck that history textbook they gave you in High School. We were not invading Iran.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) GP, Alpha and numerous others have answered the question. Stop baiting. read the thread, didn't see Alpha mention any examples which showed a "lack of balls". Pratt suggested that Carter put together the plan to invade Iran, how do you respond to that? We weren't invading Iran, and Carter gave the OK to a plan the military developed. All the hostages lived. Seemed liked a nice outcome. Blaming Carter for mechanical breakdowns and perhaps a poor military plan? I think Carter, like every President, made some mistakes, but a lack of balls? I don't see where. I do see where jumbo size balls have gotten us with this President and frankly don't think it's all that great. It is nice to learn what they're teaching the kids today in history class. I'm realizing that many high school teachers were not born when Carter was in office. Wow, I feel very old.

Bartman Exorcised When?
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) According to my Cub fan friends, he was forgiven a LONG time ago. According to them, only psycho Cub fans, the media, and Sox fas who enjoy flogging dead things still mention or even think about Bartman. Which basically means they are praying they aren't cursed.

Texas Student Booted From School for Wearing John Edwards T-Shirt
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) Free speach is for adults who can handle the responsibilty. Are you serious? Let's punish a kid who's trying to be active in his country. I'm pretty sure the Bill of Rights dosen't say "18 and over only". Even though he's not 18, the person that get's elected president is gonna effect his life too. School's need to stop telling kid's what to wear and focus on teaching. I have too many teacher friends to not comment. Teachers can teach when the distractions are gone. I'm not going to comment on the specifics of this dress code, but I fully support the concept of dress codes. It should be common sense, but that seems to be lacking today. And the dress code has to be black and white with no room for discretion. It's easier to ban all political ones, than on a case by case basis. So the Buck Fush and the Edwards '08 both get banned.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) Here we are still talking about this guy, when we have another story in the papers. http://www.kxmb.com/News/167702.asp I wonder what party he belongs to? Did he have a wide stance as well, or just a regular one? We don't wonder do we? Of course they are covering for a Dem, what else would the liberal media do. Link

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 11:57 PM) Tex, think about his line there. He won't wear it beacuse it has come to stand for patriotism. WHY IS THAT BAD? Does he hate his country? Is he not a patriot? Is he ashamed of the flag, or looking to score points with the commie-fringe of the Dem party? I think it is more a comment against those that wrap themselves up in the right clothes, ribbons, and pins, but it is all window dressing. Something that we've complained about here. Giving speeches and not money. Being pro War and making certain you or a loved one didn't have to serve, etc. That's the "kind of" patriotism I believe he was talking about. My guy was a POW, he is waaaay more Patriotic than anyone in the field, so vote for McCain.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 11:51 PM) It seems that Obama won't wear a Flag pin, because he "doesn't like how the pin has come to represent patriotism in America". Seriously, WTF is up with that? Oh wait, we shouldn't question his patriotism. Well, how about his common sense? http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/10232921.html Everybody is wearing the pin, how come you aren't wearing the pin? Stupid Obama, put on the damn pin and party. Support the choldren in China that make them with lead paint
