  1. If there was an easy answer, it would have already been done. As much as I like 2k5's answer, the equal and opposite problem, and there always is, becomes only rich people have a chance and, why spend $20 mil on a job that pays $125,000? Perhaps they would be looknig to make some of that back? So we try and find the compromise half way, and it probably isn't in finding the perfect plan, but rather finding the least evil of plans.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) Did you actually see what he was responding to in his post? I find it laughable as well. A shoe as a deadly weapon? How is that not ridiculous? And what on earth does it have to do with left wing or right wing? Not to mention that some "right wing" folks responded in agreement. But was it a wing tip?

Thank you. I will be reworking it as I bring in new music. I was under the gun and needed something easy to get.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) And you don't either, except once every six months when you do nothing but mock the "conservatives" by using multiple sarcasms. I just can't get a break from you. If I disagree, you post s*** about I'll argue about anything, the stuff I agree about, you accuse me of mocking. Do a search, I've been touting McCain since the campaigns begun.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) Ok, Mr. Multiple Sarcasms. Of course conservatives never, ever, change their minds. So I understand your comments. Thank you.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) Does this have anything to do with national sarcasm day? Nope. In my quest to prove to people here that liberal media bias is an evil conservative plot, I started logging a few news sites and convinced myself that media bias is alive and well. I feel stupid for defending these people all these years. Disgusting really. Conservatives have been getting screwed for a long time. But I really don't want to belabor the point anymore.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:55 PM) It was on the front page of cnn.com and msnbc.com yesterday. I've been trying to find less biased sources. If it was on their front page, it was there for a reason, and not what anyone thinks. But I'm not going there.
  9. We need to cut taxes to pay for this war. I'd bet a 10% decrease would have this war paid for in no time.

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) For yourself, Tex, try this. It's really pretty good for coming from a box, and you should be able to find it where you live. Cool, two stores by me carry it. I'll pick up a box today.
  11. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) yeah, because Soxtalk needs ANOTHER thread started by Texsox.... Didn't you use to be funny?
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) I see no problem with that, as long as that organization doesn't spend money to specifically endorse or promote him/her or attack other candidates. Impossible. If I produce a pro ANWR drilling commercial and play it in a district that a candidate is against it, it would promote that candidate. Even if it does not specifically mentioned the cadidate by name.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) So no posts about the deaths in Iraq being at its lowest level since July06 for both troops and civilians? I was wondering if anyone would post it, so I waited a day out of curiousity... Then I figured I would go ahead and mention it. I didn't see it. Of course it wasn't widely reported and we know why.

I need seven minutes of music for a highlight slide show. The pictures are a lot of beach shots, surfing, sailing, etc. The lyrics must be PG13, no alcohol, sex, drugs, references. It should also convey a "beach feel" I was thinking Marley, Don't Worry, Be Happy and Seals and Croft's Summer Breeze, but now I'm thinking more upbeat.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) Wow, Tex, thanks for this AWESOME piece of news, I don't know WHAT I'd have done without knowing that super-important information. I should have started a thread. We need more National (Fill in Blank) Month

  21. Seems like good strategy to underestimate what resources you will have and overestimate what your opponent will have. Keeps you fighting and you won't lose momentum if that's what happens, and if it doesn't, well you get a shot of adrenalin that you exceeded expectations. Most golf books tell you to always expect your opponent to hit the perfect shot, when playing chess always assume your opponent will not blunder. I don't see that as lying.
  22. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 08:25 AM) I've always suspected Valentin had to be roiding when he came to the Sox. I dislike spoeculating, but when I read that, I thought that's a name that might also be true.
  23. Not that anyone here is even remotely smart enough to know this, but it is National Sarcasm Month. Kap, can you order some extra green ink for the server?
  24. I just can't figure out how he keeps getting jobs, and they keep getting better. Perhaps this is the end of the road for him.
