  1. I'm trying to figure out how this could ever wind up at the Supreme Court. Are you suggesting he had a Constitutional right to abuse someone?
  2. Isn't that what I said? You don't have to be charged, and that reflects real life? Oops, I just reread my post.
  3. Free swingers who were hitting singles on balls out of the strike zone. But no more than two in an inning or else they would have actually scored some runs.
  4. I'm not certain why being found guilty or even charged is the standard in some people's minds. Plenty of people everyday lose their jobs and aren't charged with a crime. Now with the nature of baseball contracts at some point a few lawyers may have to get together and decide on remuneration.
  5. The video of him telling his parents is a real tear jerker. Listening to his voice crack . . . Wow.
  6. It's almost Valentine's Day. On your to do list: Reservations? Gifts?
  7. Lol. All of my male relatives have died before age 63. It's a little eerie as I near that mark.
  8. Baldwin charged with manslaughter in the shooting death on set. That's a tough call.
  9. Damn. One of my favorite artists. I'm actually bummed.
  10. I'm with you there. He seems more like some Hollywood caricature of a pitcher than an actual player.
  11. I'm a believer that character and contributions to the sport should count, not just stats. I would much rather read about and hold up as examples of what makes baseball great, guys like Buehrle and Baines over guys who tarnished the sport. I also believe there should be an area discussing the steroid era and the guys who did amazing things while juiced. I also believe an all steroid league would out draw the non steroid league because
  12. Long story short the pork was finished at 4:00 am today. Delicious
  13. It seems the recruiting skill for college coaches will be lining up NIL money for recruits. If a coach can't line up sponsors they will not last. That's actually great for players.
  14. It seems like we just started valuing framing and soon it will be a "boomer" skill that people will laugh at.
  15. This makes me happy. I was worried they had dropped the position.
  16. Listening to some speeches, smoking a pork shoulder and some chicken, finishing up (literally) a couple woodworking projects, and raking leaves.
  17. My point is the players were against it. Seemed interesting to me. I would have thought the players would be for it. I think everyone sides with the owners from time to time. That doesn't make them pro owner. I didn't realize that's a schtick.
  18. https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2719971-dak-prescott-accused-of-using-machine-to-sign-memorabilia.amp.html Already happening. Bob Dylan also got busted for using an autopen.
  19. That brings up an interesting possibility. The umpire union may be more likely to accept making it easier to remove the Joe Wests of the umpiring union with automation looming on the horizon. It also highlights how union guys in the same industry stick together.
  20. Rule change for player safety and to avoid gray area calls. Any pitched ball that enters the batter's box is an automatic walk whether it hits the batter or not.
  21. Modern version he gets a lifetime ban for using synthetic oil.
