And the sad part is that some of you selfish people are applauding this blatantly political move. Workers. They are there that often. And there have been lots and lots of studies, going back a few decades that show the negative effects. You are correct, it's the same people who make you wear a seatbelt, not speed, inspect elevators, inspect restaurants for health violations, enforce building codes, tell you what drugs will require a prescription, and all those other "safety laws". And of course it's the same people who wrote laws to keep you from playing your stereo loud enough for the whole neighborhood to enjoy at 3am, who stop you from painting a billboard on the side of your house, make you mow your lawn, and all that other b.s. I wonder why no one brings up the Constitutional right to cigarettes? Maybe it is because there isn't one? There is plenty of legal precedent that polluting the air isn't protected, but the right to clean air is? We generally protect the rights of the person who isn't harming anyone or anything over the rights of the person creating the nuisance.

I was just thinking, and two lazy to research, but how have players like Rowand, Olivo. etc. done after they leave Walker's tutelage? I'm trying to think of the position players who have left. If Walker sucks, theory states the players should show the immediate improvement that some of y'all think will happen.

Once again we seem to be trying to help a country who doesn't want to help themselves or us. It that scenario, no matter what we do, when we leave it's chaos all over again.

I stand by my statement that changing coaches in mid season is risky and a final act of desperation by a team. Perhaps it is desperation time. I'm guessing that come Monday, it will be all right, but if not, Walker may be having a very unhappy meeting with K-Dub and Oz. But the problem goes well beyond Walker, the organization for the past couple decades has preached long ball. Which has me amazed we've done that without at least one poster boy for steroids. Players coming into the organization have to notice what gets rewarded on the 25 man roster. But bringing in someone new, and if he starts wholesales changes, we could be throwing in the towel quickly. If all it takes is a tweak, Walker is the guy to do it. If we need a sledge hammer and time, start waving the flag and have Spring Training II only when the results count for real.

Walker's Last Support Falls . While I think firing a coach in mid season is the ultimate panic move, I'd give Walker through the weekend and if they don't show some signs of improvement, I guess we just got desperate.

Thome doesn't hurt that rib cage with a different hitting coach and an all new swing. Seriously, how fast do y'all think it would take a new hitting coach to change the team and why does it take a coach? Are the players able to drop a lifetime of habits and adopt new swings overnight?

I imagine once you start with Secret Service protection you just handed your life over to them. They should be allowed to dictate when and where some activities take place. Win or lose, I wish this election would show America at its' absolute best at respecting people of all heritages, but sadly, it probably will just highlight how far we have to go.
