2023 Celebrity Death Thread
Lol. All of my male relatives have died before age 63. It's a little eerie as I near that mark.

Baldwin charged with manslaughter in the shooting death on set. That's a tough call.

Damn. One of my favorite artists. I'm actually bummed.

Joe Kelly Wrote a Book
I'm with you there. He seems more like some Hollywood caricature of a pitcher than an actual player.

23 HOF ballot announced
I'm a believer that character and contributions to the sport should count, not just stats. I would much rather read about and hold up as examples of what makes baseball great, guys like Buehrle and Baines over guys who tarnished the sport. I also believe there should be an area discussing the steroid era and the guys who did amazing things while juiced. I also believe an all steroid league would out draw the non steroid league because

Long story short the pork was finished at 4:00 am today. Delicious

2022 College Football Season
It seems the recruiting skill for college coaches will be lining up NIL money for recruits. If a coach can't line up sponsors they will not last. That's actually great for players.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
It seems like we just started valuing framing and soon it will be a "boomer" skill that people will laugh at.

Sox serious about analytics
This makes me happy. I was worried they had dropped the position.

Who has the day off from work?
Listening to some speeches, smoking a pork shoulder and some chicken, finishing up (literally) a couple woodworking projects, and raking leaves.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
My point is the players were against it. Seemed interesting to me. I would have thought the players would be for it. I think everyone sides with the owners from time to time. That doesn't make them pro owner. I didn't realize that's a schtick.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
That brings up an interesting possibility. The umpire union may be more likely to accept making it easier to remove the Joe Wests of the umpiring union with automation looming on the horizon. It also highlights how union guys in the same industry stick together.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
Rule change for player safety and to avoid gray area calls. Any pitched ball that enters the batter's box is an automatic walk whether it hits the batter or not.

Modern version he gets a lifetime ban for using synthetic oil.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
BTW if you like this you are taking the owner's side. Players rejected it during the CBA negotiations.

All AAA parks to have robotic umpires in 2023
I can't wait for the robot players. Once again the owners find ways to screw over employees to make more money.

Sox Sign Hanser Alberto
I'm not certain where you got any anti free agency from me other than it will hurt the Sox. I'm fine with abolishing the draft and having everyone be free agents from the beginning.

Sox Sign Hanser Alberto
People complain how bad Leury's contact is. It should be the minimum. I'm complaining about any player who signs a worst deal.
-
Sox Sign Hanser Alberto
Cheap ass owner underpaying players so they can make huge profits. No way he should have signed for less than Leury money. I was hoping with the new CBA we'd see fans continuing to demand higher salaries for players. He doesn't have many seasons left, this should have been a better payday.

Liam Hendriks is cancer free
No. Nothing compares to a Hawks Anthem. A friend of mine was at the exhibition game against Russia when it started. He said it started small during the opening line then just got insane. He thought it would be a one off thing but it's a tradition now.

"Sell the Team...Jerry" Billboards...
Then you really should look at those Bull rosters from the 1990s. Paxson, Harper, Kerr to name a few. They had a competitive team and actually signed some key free agents. There are very few owners in all of sports that have really changed a team. The majority of the time nothing really changes. The Sox hadn't been in the playoffs in over 20 years when JR bought the team. They made it a couple years later.
