  1. As much as I wanted to disagree, Oz will, at some point, say something to end his career. LOL
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) Anyone know how many pitches JG is at after 7? 85/59

  5. It's not an intentional in the scorebook, but it should be
  6. Was the battle to be allowed to sit anywhere on the bus, or was it to sit always at the front of the bus? If the driver had a request for younger children to sit up front where the driver could keep an eye on them, and fufilled that request, has she been unfairly labeled a racist? In other words, if she had assigned other kids to those seats, would it have made national news? Now, if there were empty seats they were not allowed to sit in, then by all means she's a racist idiot and should bever come in contact with humans again, but I would like to hear from her.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) I am guessing that things have only gotten worse since this time, but apparently over 200 people "confessed" to the Lindberg baby kidnapping. http://crime.about.com/od/issues/a/false.htm
  8. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) better start printing up those new science textbooks That's what I was thinking. I'll bet Kansas will insist on versions with nine planets like God intended.

    Lunch

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) yeah, $5.50 gets you a half chicken, a side, and a pita bread. In downtown Chicago that is a steal. Wow. He must be running some great volume through there to survive on $5.50 plates, or drinks are also $5.50??
  10. QUOTE(juddling @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) ...and in other news today...it was announced that the ACLU has filed suit in federal court on Pluto's behalf to keep it's 'planet' status. In a statement issued today the ACLU stated that it can't believe that in this day and age that size still matters.
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) wait wait wait... There is a place called Chicken Planet? QUOTE(mreye @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) It's taking Pluto's place.

  13. I always cheer for the Central, then the AL. So when the playoffs start, I'm confident there willbe central division teams to cheer for. Too bad we couldn't be leading the wildcard race instead of being so far out of it.

    First Aid

    I was in my third or fourth recert on CPR when the instructor mentioned a student that was distraught that he had performed CPR and the person "still died". After hearing that, the instructor made certain to remind everyone if the person is alive, there is no need for CPR. We do CPR when the heart has stopped, a pretty good indicator that the person is dead. Also, the odds were so small on bringing anyone back.

    First Aid

    Is it the loss of bodily functions that make it no fun, the understanding that the person is dead, or the stress of knowing you're the person's last chance?
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:54 AM) Nah, just dog tired. Last night was a looooooong nite. raining cats and dogs . . .
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 08:58 AM) So did they change the planetary definition again? I wonder what the new one is? But in the 1990s, more powerful telescopes revealed numerous bodies similar to Pluto in the neighborhood. New observations also showed that Pluto's orbit was oblong, sending it soaring well above and beyond the main plane of the solar system where Earth and the other seven planets circle the sun. That prompted some galactic grumbling from astronomers who began openly attacking Pluto's planethood. This is going to crush their tourist industry In a related report, Jason's girlfriends applied the same logic and decided he has no penis.

    Dad saves daughter.

    What a great story Go dad. Hey Dad, before thinking your all that, just think she's going to grow up to think you're an idiot
  20. Link RAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) -- Leading astronomers declared Thursday that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight.After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. The new definition of what is -- and isn't -- a planet fills a centuries-old black hole for scientists who have labored since Copernicus without one. Pluto is no stranger to controversy. In fact, it's been dogged by disputes ever since its discovery. (Watch why some think planet size doesn't matter -- 3:39)

Which goes back to my earlier thought that most crimes aren't solved by brilliant police work, but by dumb luck and confessions.
