That would be cool. There was some magic back in the late 70s early 80s. Man, I feel sooooo old writing that.

One First Aid lesson. There is almost no reason to "pop" a blister. Nature likes blisters, that's why we get them. Put a bandaid over it and cowboy up.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) What sort of machines are you trying to load it onto, and what format are the pictures in? The easiest way to correct PPT flaws I've found is to go in and manually convert every photo to JPG format, because usually everything that can install powerpoint can read those. Also, if having it take forever to load is a problem, you have a couple options. If you're converting things to JPG anyway, it may be worth the effort to save the images as a smaller file size. Depending on the size of the screen you're presenting on, you may be able to get away with each of them being a few tens of kb...if you're loading 2 mb images, then it's going to take forever no matter what, and you're never going to need that sort of detail unless you're projecting on the moon. Smaller file sizes might make it easier for older machines to read the files as well. I'm afraid the "Self-starting" part I simply don't know how to help you with. You might be able to get away with it by putting a link to the exact file in your "Startup" folder in the start menu, but that's just a guess. Thank you, I was just looking at the resolution and discovered saved resolution and projected resolution are different. I will be sending this to about 100 people over the next couple weeks and I need for any of them to be able to open the program. I was using MGI Photosuit but developed some issues there and decided on Powerpoint, I assumed they had an option to create a .exe and just have it run and not require the user to have ppt

I put together a promotional slide show with about 120 pictures. The damn thing will not load on some machines, takes forever. I also need it to be self starting, or, at a minimum, not need Powerpoint to start. Can this be done?

In my thirty plus years as a Sox fan, there have been precious few playoff races to cheer about, we're in one and have a lead. I know it's the wildcard, but it is still post season. We were backing up last season, it seemed doomed, and last I looked we were still the WS Champions. I still like this team and would not mind a series against the Yankees or A's. Either way, they are winning way more often then losing. Are considered one of the top 5 or 6 teams in MLB and most days play like it. I'm enjoying the season, as I believe most old timers are. What say you YAS, Jim, etc?

I am thinking this was a mercy trade. Let Jamie get in a pennant race.

As a service to journalists everywhere, I offer this fill in the blank story to be used every few months. Notice there is never this story, Former child star, , recently was voted father of the year by the Middletown Chamber of Commerce. has been a role model for youths and adults since appearing as . . .

I thought this season Jon would be back to 14 wins, I guess I was wrong. I don't mind being wrong. I sometimes forget how damn young he is. He is just hitting his prime.

Just received a cingular text message. One last run for Moyer? Phillies sent a couple minor leaguers. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/news_story/?ID=174782&hubname= Didn't the Phillies try real hard in the off season to get him? Sounds stupid to me.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) Javy? Seriously? He's proven that to you? He hasn't convinced me of that at all. If I said in his career, could you agree?

In the end, it really doesn't matter a whole lot. Every single starting pitcher on this team has proven they can win big games. We are talking percentage points of difference in the chances of one over the other. In a month, the race will be about over, we'll see how much flex Ozzie has in the rotation to "set things up" but I really am not worried about the game one pitcher. We'll see who has the hot arm in late September.

LOL, thanks SS I needed that laugh.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) Well to me, telling people to change their behaviors because you believe there is a better way to live life is pretty much the definition of a moral authority, at least to me. Right, wrong, or indifferent doesn't really matter. Then I don't believe there is anyone on the planet that could tell people to change. Like Jesus said, "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." "Mom, that hurt!"* Added for comedic value, not to detract from m point.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 07:51 AM) A wild bear is legal to shoot if it is locked in a pen? I think that this is an issue of the "sport" of hunting. I know hunting in itself is pretty cruel and inhumane, but at least wild bears have a sense to run away, that tame bear probably just stood there and let it happen. Either way, it was a pretty lame thing to do to get a trophy on your wall. If you want to brag about a kill, at least have the balls to go out and hunt for it. You go out to your farm or ranch and a bear is in your pen, of course you can kill it in the pen. What would be the alternatives? Say shoo, please go away? Wait until it tears up your property or kills some livestock? I agree it is a lame way to harvest a bear in this way, but is it criminal and should there be charges years after? I don't think so. Which is more cruel and inhumane, our factories that turn out t-bones and ground beef, or the harvesting of wild game? Do you also have a problem with killing a tame cow? A tame chicken? A tame pig?

At worst, great message, poor messenger. Also, poor and misleading reporting by the damn liberal press trying to make a conservative like Al Gore look bad.
-
And I always wonder why certain players get some press for being on the list and others do not. Do sports writers try and pick the biggest names that could be dealt? That would make the most sense.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Are you crazy?! Floyd Bannister pwns! That's Floyd "The Barber" Bannister to you young man. Ohhhhhh Andy, how about a little trim . . . ?

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) I doubt you could put your pet cat/dog in a cage and videotape yourself shooting it with a bow and arrow and say you were just putting it down. Why should a tame bear somehow receive more protection than a wild bear? If a wild bear was cornered in a pen, it would have been legal to shoot. Did this bear somehow become a citizen and now has a different set of rights? GMAB, this is a waste of government money.
-
I hope they didn't spend too much on the four year investigation. Now, I have to wonder, why is it ok to kill a wild bear, but not a tame bear? We could have our cute little cat put down, but not a bear? WTF? Should they have strapped him down, sedated him and killed him via lethal injection? Come to think of that, that would be a cool video.
