  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:43 AM) Oh come on. This man "mocked" Bush. If he had "mocked' the esteemed Revereand Jackson, you all would screaming racism. Why is one acceptable and one not? A person in the public eye is still being mocked. OK, so he's a racist for mocking Bush, feel better? Oh the horrors, the horrors Mocking Presidents for over 200 years. I love this country BTW, I think it is in poor taste to do it in front of a family member. But thank God we can mock our Presidents.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) The Hemingway one is by far, my favorite. that and Dr. Seuss is a close second. What does say about me?
  3. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) My buddy made his own and made a decent machine. I guess I could just order all the parts off newegg and build it myself. Just gotta figure out what to order now. I did that with my son last year. Start with the processor, look for MoBo that meet your needs as far as outputs and inputs, decide on a case, video card, sound card, networking stuff, etc. etc. It isn't really that hard. THe only mistake we made was ordering an OEM DVD drive which arrived without software. Pain in the butt. Newegg is awesome. Great service. Great prices. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

    Dam....

http://www.snopes.com/humor/letters/dammed.htm Best of all it is mostly true. One thing that was left out is the beavers had been killed, possibly by the neighbor who complained, and the landowner may have been maintaining the dams himself to keep his pond.

  6. Near as I can tell, there is a finite amount of oil out there, and we ain't making much more, at least nowhere as fast as we are using it. So what incentive is there for anyone to extract quickly and for cheap prices? In a sense they are all working their way out of an industry. Now we seem to have lots and lots, and perhaps that is too futuristic to worry about, but you know, just saying . . .

We're not in filibuster, we can agree hell, I think we have a perfect record Filibuster 0% agreement Rest of the board 100% agreement
  8. LMAO Another one, not what you'd expect. Hits all the cliches
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:35 AM) Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A blond lady walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole," said Bubba, "but we don't have a ladder." The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement & announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches," and walked away. Junior shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a dumb blond? We ask for the height, and she gives us the length.
  10. I want to give my daughter a "pre-loaded" Visa/MC she can use for on-line purchases, debits in stores etc. I also want her to be able to add money herself. My bank insists that it be a transfer from my account. I am trying to teach some self reliance here, does anyone know of a "gift card" type thing that doesn't require a bank account?
  11. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) he already wrote "property of Texsox" on it Just about, I stored a bunch of waypoints already. What could be done is return the new one bought at Target to Walmart, but that would be wrong :rolly

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Another question out there I'd like to ask: What's everyone's favorite XM channel? You mean after White Sox baseball for us out of towners? 121, 166, all of 210-230

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) My friend, a Sirius subscriber, said something very radio industry like the other day. "Howard isn't cut out for satellite radio." I did a double take and then he said something that makes sense. On regular radio, he's the granddaddy of shock jocks and challenging convention in every sense. In the world of satellite, everyone swears and everyone talks about naked chicks - and he's just another one of them. The difference is the built in fan base he's bringing with, and their total committment to the man, the legend, the greatest radio entertainer of all time, the savor of the radio format, the God of the airwaves, etc. I've met very few casual Stern fans, most can't wait for the crusade, and defend their man to the end.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) You do understand that the "work they put into it" is a computer that automaticly sends a debit to my bank each month..... wow, thats a lot of work And now they have to stop that, remove the debit, and etc. I should have said cost, not work. I worked in a similar industry. We knew how much each transaction would cost. We also knew the advantage of collecting up front, not worrying about the NSFs, less likely someone will cancel, the people who switched bank accounts and forgot to tell us,etc. So we gave a nice discount to not screw with that end of the business. People will stop taking the discount if they knew they could just prorate at some point. That is the main reason. And yours will fall in the monthly subscriber who cancels column. And they will push for more annual subscribers with better and better deals . . . Question, you already expected to pay more than the annual price. Would you have called them the last month and said, give me the annual now and I'll owe nothing?
  15. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) I like Moyer, but i cant wait till he retires. So we dont have to deal with his 77 mph junk anymore. Funny, the rest of the league ws saying that in 2004 about Shingo only 65 mph junk.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) i guess that i have a problem with companys who fail to understand common logic and value greed as a way to get profit just me thou Nope, they just offer a discount for people that pay all at once. One billing, no followups, and pass the savings on, or at least some of them. Instead of billing you once, they have billed you three times, and put some work into it. A discount for single billing and getting the money in advance doesn't work if they don't bill once and get all their money up front.
  17. And the mental midgets without customer service training they put on the front lines should be replaced by punching bags so I could have at least gotten a workout, the IQs are about the same. Keywords: WaMart sucks, idiots, don't buy from them without checking prices, Target, not always the lowest prices, bastards, I am starting to feel better. Situation, I bought a new GPS receiver, a lovely Garmin eTrex Legend at my local WalMart for the price of $169.99. I assumed the always low prices was at least close to what I would pay anywhere else. ...Me... A buddy tells me that he just bought the same model for $132.50 a savings of over $35. Wow, where did you buy it? (ready for this) WalMart! WHAAAAAAT??? Yes, sir. WalMart on line. Well I'll just print that out and have WalMart price match No way Jose, we don't match our own prices. :headshake WHAAAAAAT!??? OK, how about matching OfficeMax, Staples, Target, etc. etc.? Nope, not any internet prices. But these are also available in the store Sorry, they say they don't carry them in the store I jjjjjjust was there and saw them! Sorry, let me call the manager again . . . :finger :finger BTW, the eTrex is awesome. I was out geocaching and it worked great. Nice little handheld unit.

Their policies are pretty straight forward. Take the discount or pay per month. I didn't see a third mix and match program.
  19. QUOTE(samclemens @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) you are right. finnerty will be convicted of a felonious assault in a completely unrelated incident. yeah, it will make him look bad at the rape trial, but that doesnt change the fact that the strippers alleging this are money-hungry liars and that this case is complete b.s. from what we have seen thus far. soxbadger is acting like either of them have a chance of being convicted. in my humble opinion, we havent seen a single fact yet to show that this entire trial's purpose is for some lying strippers to get money (s***, she already has a scholarship) and a DA to get re-elected. I thought the trial would be in a court room, not via press conferences with the defense attorney.
  20. And what President hasn't had some mistakes? Overall, I've liked many of his appointments. I'll even admit to liking Donny Rumsssssfeld for a while. I like Condi, Powell, and many of his judge picks. Knowing he's going to pick conservatives, I grade him out around a B or a B+.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Yeah, there is no audience for it...just millions of people...and what would children have to do with anything? I bet there is no interest in the porn industry either? Porn isn't for everyone, and either is Stern, glad you see the similarity. Some people enjoy that, others don't. His greatest talent is in producing rabid fans who will do anything Stern asks. Amazing.
  22. I think this shows one of the things I admire about this president. He tries and finds the best cadidates for any position. He'll even take a little criticism in the process. Sadly, his most ardent backers can't find that same attribute and willingness.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) Impossible...today Jenny McCarthy talked about her lesbian experiences with Jenna Jameson...It almost made me buy more radios... That's entertainment, did they fake any orgasms? Should increase subscribers for adults with children, who have been begging for more content like that.
