    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) how do you go from The Who to Trace Atkins????? I have a very diverse taste in music. A great opera will move me to tears. My kids orchestra performances tonight were awesome, I could have sat there for hours. No one would want to listen to my iPod in shuffle mode for very long BTW, I was introduced to the Corrs a few months back, excellent for old people romance
  4. Sad that after that great start 150 years ago, the GOP turned their backs, took some groups for granted, gave others too much influence and power, and lost any relevance with minorities, especially blacks. Sadly, the Dems are making the same mistake today.

    Damn, I was hoping you just bought a new guitar. Good luck in the search. And fwiw, make this getting fired up. Look for something two steps up from what you were doing. This is a great chance to make more money in a better position. You just have to believe that, and set your sights on that.
  7. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) I'd laugh, but one of my friends is actually writing a pre-doc grant for ethanol research. And let me say, human research is so much easier. And research that doesn't involve controlled substances. But I do know of a lab where a bunch of cocaine, oops, went missing. For the next couple of cycles, don't forget to have PA add some religious angle, the government is a big fan you know.
  8. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Thanks! It's been changed for, like, a week! But yeah, I like it. I wanted to be certain I liked the change NOw we need to work on PA. PA doesn't work, to close to a slang for father.
  9. Soxy, nice screen name change.

    November 16, 2005 NOTE FROM CHRIS: Honda is currently testing vehicles that talk to other cars and pass information back and forth to sensors along the roadway. Fine. But what if they could REALLY talk? The Top 5 Things a Talking Car Would Say 5> "Methane level critical. Please crack a window NOW." 4> "Quit b****ing about $3 gas, Mr. 'I can't function without my $5.95 Frappuccino.'" 3> "Warning! Commencing Billy Joel evasion sequence!" 2> "Reverse! Neutral! Drive! Neutral! Reverse! Now throw it into overdrive, baby! Yeah, that's right! Who's your Caddy? Who's your Caddy??!!" and Topfive.com's Number 1 Thing a Talking Car Would Say... 1> "Special lunch date again, Mrs. Collins? I see you're not wearing any panties." 12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) Um...I think that at least 1 of those 2 has quite the (quasi-legal to extremely illegal) money machine around them... And the other one would better serve humanity if he could put his magical skills at deducing the conditions of patients through edited TV clips to use in helping cure the sick and infirm. Maybe DeLay - Chaney or DeLay - Rove since we can't seem to get Jeb off his ass and run.
  13. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) Balta... I hear what you're saying, and I agree. The campaign financing is the heart and soul of what's wrong with our government today. That's why it's so corrupt is because money and greed and power are all bastardized to keep control of their precious "clout". hmmm, who has all the power and money? Maybe we all need to vote DEM and start to even some stuff out again? Except for DeLay - Frist 2008
  14. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Wow! This joint is jumping! It was kinda lonely here last night. Just me and Rex knockin’ back a few. I return now and, uh, I’m almost speechless. Who knew there were so many kindred spirits? See, you're amongst friends . . .
  15. Anyone worried that the GOP has so many IOUs out there from campaign contributors?
  16. I have to go visit my chiropractor, my neck is sore from all the twists.
  17. No Paul down here, but Hootie and the Blowfish are playing the Dodge Arena Whoopie Actually, Pat Green is making his 6 appearance in the past two years down here and I've been out of town for all of them. Dammit
  18. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) It was sinister on the first place to not level with the public on who was being consulted. Sinister in the second place. The first place was imviting them, which should have been cool.
  19. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Interesting Fact of the day: More than 2/3 of the world's households obtain their water from outside the house. Wow. Staggering Number. I would be amazed if more than 20% of Americans could take some muddy water and make it potable, or find water and know the safest sources. That also means 2/3 of the world's households do not dispose of body waste in a toilet in their homes.
  20. I think any reasonable person drawing up an energy policy or plan should interview people in the industries. Not only the oil people, but wind farmers, nucleeahyr, solar, natural gas, etc. The potential sinister stuff is how that information is used or abused.
  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) yeah...but when he barks....it's a sarcastic bark. Post of the year material LMAO
  22. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) I'm a gate crasher but I think I have all of you beat on this one. I actually ponied up and bought the 2 disc 40th anniversary edition of the Sound of Music that just came out yesterday. I almost started a poll on SL&P about it yesterday to see if the concensus was that the puchase suggested I was less than a real man, too cool to worry about what anybody thinks, or somewhere in the middle. My wife detests musicals and has already stated in no uncertain terms that she will NOT be watching it woth me this weekend. OK, back to the ghey. Jim, can I come over and watch it with you . . .
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) The two most hated words in the English language Wind Chill :rolly Somewhere the forecast is: You know, just sayin', somewhere
