  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) I saw a commercial for that DVD on ESPNews, and I was like "What the f***? Is this real?" I thought it was a SNL parody at first. I did a google search to find out. LMAO on the picks and comments. If it drives like a 4 door sedan, stand back and look closely and see if it IS a 4 door sedan.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Just stay at the Pfister with us. That was my favorite Milwaukee Hotel. Are they still operating The English Room? The sommelier, don't call me a wine steward, was excellent. Once, I had called ahead of time, hoping they would have a particular Oregon Pinot in the celler. He called around and could not procure it in time and when I asked about corkage fees he was very nice. We worked out a trade that was very one sided for me. It's little touches like that, that make the Pfister so nice. That and all the marble. The one down side was the var always sucked. Great few but empty and boring. Old Hotels are the best.
  3. Official US Policy is we do not negotiate with terrorists. Unofficially we may negotiate with a 3rd party who negotiates with the terrorist.
  4. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Obvious? Been done "My Fellow Americans" with James Garner, Jack Lemmon, and Dan Aykroyd
  5. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) Bush is older than Clinton. And also did lose to him, so I guess I can't complain that Clinton is giving him the bed. It is interesting how our Ex-Presidents all seem to get along. Carter and Ford have discussed this on many occassions. It's a small club. Usually even smaller. At one time I believe we only had Nixon as a living ex-President. Now we have enough Presidents to field a basketball team. I'll guard Ford
  6. FWIW, a guy I know owns a couple LaQuinta Hotels. He's told me the actual best way to a great rate is to call the sales department, explain you visit the area on business and are interested in checking out the hotel. What is the best rate they could offer on X nights. Explain, you would prefer to not book through one of those internet sites, but wish to check out the hotel while on a pleasure trip to the area. It's a white lie of sorts. Many Hotels will offer the price you would get because they actually make more than booking through the agency. It also allows you to choose which hotel you are staying at. It all depends on how much time and effort you wish to invest.

  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) No should not do. Poisoning my kids is up to me Heck I said "should not" twice They should keep junk foods out of the schools. Same difference. Of course I remember the days of pizza, green beans, and apple sauce; all at the same temperature :puke
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) I agree with him actually. Our public institutions should not be contributing to one of the most preventable causes of death. If parents want to teach their kids bad habits that is one thing, the government should not. Stardate 06 March 2005: Southsider finds something the government should do. I kid, because I care™

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) ^^^^^^^ Prolonged high fever levels can cause brain damage. Besides if your body has been fighting something that hard for 3 days now, something is wrong. Well thank you Mr. Stop the ChiSoxyGirl fantasy thread
  17. Good luck
  18. to be replaced by steroid injections I am in favor of this. I was appalled when I noticed all the junk foods and sodas for sale at my kids Jr. High. Texas pulled out the soda machines a year or two ago and replaced them with water and real fruit juices. I also think school groups are irresponsible when they use candy as a fund raiser.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Hi guys. I've had a pretty high fever since Friday night (102)--I've been taking acetomphine (about 1000mg per dose), which is supposed to be a fever reducer, but it hasn't been able to touch it. I'm definitely in need of something to take my fever down, anyone have any ideas? A lukewarm to cool bath will help. I've found Ibuprophen to work better plus you can probably double dose without any problems. I don't know your weight, but even a lightweight can take double the dosage for short times without any adverse effects. The worse that may happen is an upset stomache. More likely with the Acetometaphine. I assume you are drinking enough cool, clear fluids. Not much else to do unless you go up another couple degrees. I hope there is someone who can check up on you. If not locally have someone call you or set a time to call them. You may also which to check your temperature using an alternate location or method. Double checking to be certain.

While I agree that outlawing all guns would reduce murders, I also think it is wrong to make the vast majority of honest, law abiding gun owners suffer because some people choose to use the tool in an unlawful manner. The reason I believe the murder rate would go down is a gun gives too many people instant courage. Drive by shooting are one example. It also causes crimes of passion to escalate past a good ass kicking.
