Happy Birthday, Texas!
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 05:16 AM) There is one thing I have learned about Texans ovet the past couple of years ....... They damn sure are proud of Texas and being Texans. What I've yet to figure out is ...... Why? Like everything else about modern life, folks in Kentucky usually get it a couple decades after the rest of us. Y'all are going to be amazed when you stop dialing and use a push button phone. :finger

Fox News Spawns Hate for Canada
Does every industry have a bias? Could we call some industries liberal or conservative? Obviously Hollywood tends to be liberal, which ones are conservative?

The Way They Were Mammories, light the corners of my mind Soft silicon filled mammories Of the way they were Scattered pictures, of the clevage I left behind dollars you gave to one or the another For the way they were Can it be that it was all so simple then Or has time rewritten every line If we had the chance to do it all again Tell me, would we, could we Mammories, are all beautiful and yet Ones too small to remember Are replaced with even larger So it's the laughter We will remember Whenever we remember The way they were The way they were

Fox News Spawns Hate for Canada
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I love that pic. My new mantra. Starting next week I will be driving a nice 1 ton V10 Dodge truck, it gets about 9 miles per gallon. In a stunning but of irony, it's green. To go with my already conservative views on unions, abortion, balanced budgets, what is fit for the airwaves, I'm going to start pointing out how the media and judges suck.

Putting away the Sox - Cub thing for a minute, I really think Santo should be in the hall. I'm very surprised by this (again). I know he would have given his right nah, I won't go there.

Happy Birthday, Texas!
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) I'd love to have a cowboy. Now that merits a YEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAW! Well shoot howdy, why didn't you say that before? Send a photo "I can see you got your eye on this ole cowboy and I can tell you've never had one for your own Or you've never been around one Now you're thinking that you've found one Well, it might be kind of fun to take him home. You giggle everytime I say 'Yes, ma'am.' And I get this feeling that if I held you tight You'd be seeing his and hers Buckles, boots, and spurs But that's a feeling you'll get over overnight. Chorus: Cause watcha gonna do with a cowboy When that ole rooster crows at dawn, And he's lying there instead Of gettin out of bed And puttin on his boots and getting gone? Watcha gonna do when he says, 'Honey, I got half a mind to stay'? Watcha gonna do with a cowboy when he don't saddle up and ride away? You see it takes a special kind of woman To put up with the life a cowboy leads Cause his boots are always muddy And his beer drinking buddies Will camp out on the couch and never leave. Don't even start to think you're gonna change him You'll be better off to try to rope the wind. What he his is what you got and he can't be what he's not and honey you can't hide him from your friends. Chorus Yeah whatcha gonna do with a cowboy when he don't saddle up and ride away?"

Happy Birthday, Texas!
I know y'all non-Texans would want to know what to do when the Texas pledge is being recited. Besides suffering from state envy, y'all probaly wouldn't want anyone to know ya'aint from aroun here. Pledge of Allegiance to the State Flag (a) The pledge of allegiance to the state flag is, "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one and indivisible." (B) The pledge of allegiance to the state flag should be rendered by all present except those in uniform by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Individuals who are not in uniform and who are wearing a headdress that is easily removeable should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, with the hand over the heart. Individuals in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute. © The pledge of allegiance to the state flag may be recited at all public and private meetings at which the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag is recited and at state historical events and celebrations. (d) The pledge of allegiance to the state flag should be recited after the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag if both are recited.

New Rap War?
Some styles of music require more attention to lyrics than others. Using an extreme example, most Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc. tunes needed strong attention to lyrics. Other styles need more attention to dance-ability, beat, etc. Just saying . . .

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) CPA's are good Tex (shameless plug here) Seriously, if a CPA can't save you what you pay them, they're not the best CPA. Sometimes, a CPA can give you ideas that generate enough money to triple what you pay them over a year. I'm a big fan of CPAs and Lawyers. I am not a big fan of a "book keeper" who charges 500 dollars to send out 25 invoices, balance the checkbook, and send out payroll. I can cut the invoices in under an hour a month total, balance a checkbook is a breeze with Quickbooks, and payroll services for small businesses are dirt cheap now. The key is working with a CPA before getting too far down the road. This business is going to be a challenge based on some current situations. My wife, son, and daughter will be helping at various times. I am starting to think about the tax implications of paying my son versus a big, jumbo, allowance. Doesn't every kid get a $200 per week allowance?

Any Runners?
QUOTE(Stocking @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) I got into the health thing of late and am going to run the shamrock shuffle. Has anyone ran this event and what can I expect? If this is your first road race, have fun and enjoy the sites. Unless you are a top college runner, grab a spot in the back and force yourself to go out slow for the first mile or two (I assume this is a 10k). Then spend the next 4 miles passing people and saying hello. Save the racing for down the road.

Executions of minors halted by supreme court
QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) That was one of his arguments in his dissenting opinion. That's funny coming from the guy that tried to keep my sexuality illegal. It wasn't you personally it was the other immoral, going straight to hell, heathens Until our legal system is perfect, our labs are perfect, our judges and juries are perfect, we should stop all executions.

Oz vs. our boy
I like the Phil article better and it highlights their journalistic differences. Jay clearly enjoys taking swipes are JR and Co. Phil seemed more matter of fact about it. Still Oz deserves this and it will blow over by Thursday unless Oz keeps it alive. Funny and sad stuff.
