A failure of imagination
:headshake So why even involve Bin Laden? Did you even read what I wrote? Why would Bin Laden skip all over the middle east recruiting?

A failure of imagination
If you were gathering up a group and could fill the entire group in one spot would you bounce all over the place recruiting?? Bin Laden could find everyone he needed in one spot, why go anywhere else? That doesn't mean the Saudis trained and sponsored these men. Or should Bin Laden say. I want 6 Saudis, 8 Egyptians, 6 Syrians, etc.? Of course he wouldn't want to skip all over the middle east recruiting and of course he could have stopped in anyone of several countries and recruit more than enough people. The entire middle east is full of people who hate us for protecting Israel. Plus he was trying to put together a team. Having something in common make sit easier to form a team. Having everyone from one country makes it easier. Just because they were all Saudis doesn't prove the Saudi government trained them or sponsored them, any more than McVeigh being in the Army means the US sponsored his terrorist act.

reflecting past and present
I believe that everyone has an on-line persona that is different than in "real life". We all can express ourselves better in person, verbally, with gestures than we sometimes can on-line with nothing but words and smilies. Ncorgbl went beyond that and placed himself above everyone and berated too many people. He was playing king of the hill and finally lost. He fell further, faster, and harder not because of what others did, bit because of the dizzying heights he put himself on.

A toilet not for the faintest of hearts
Occasionaly while backpacking, especially above tree line there will be outdoor pit toilets. There is something very cool about sitting on the throne and watching everything around you. Birds, the sky, maybe a mountain peak. But the middle of a city steet doesn't quite seem the same. FlaSoxxJim, what kind of facilities do you have at the outpost? Digging catholes?

A failure of imagination
Now you are going off in another direction. You claimed in this exact case that the terrorists on those planes were trained by Saudi Arabia in a state sponsored manner. That just doesn't make sense to me. Allies in this world are here today, gone tomorrow, and back again as it suits them and us.

A failure of imagination
So they used official government training for hand to hand combat but used US flight schools? Come on, which was going to get them caught easier? Taking a martial arts class in the US or a flight school? Why would they train in hand to hand combat in a state sponsored training program and then not train them to fly a plane? It doesn't pass the common sense test. The Saudis have an Air Force and if it was state sponsored could have trained the pilots.

Masters of the Mic
I just finished the article on golf announcers and agreed 100%. Pretty cool stuff. They somehow missed Chris Shenkle (spelling?) and bowling. One in the same during the 70's.

A failure of imagination
U.S. policy on Israel key motive for effort The report doesn't think it was state sponsored.

They trained to fly in the US. Are you implying we sponsor terrorists?

Forgettable Sports Momemts
I played on a travelling all-star team in Lake County way back in the 70s. We played in Mike's Memorial Brinco League. My first year 5 of the 12 or 13 kids were all named Jim. So everyone except Jim Adkins wound up with nicknames. One guy was speedy like Konerko and was called LBJ as in lead bottom Jim. I had avoided an obvious label for many days until I took a mighty (for me) rip at the ball and the coach exclaimed, you swung like a grandma! Years later guys on the team would call me grandma.

Alou blames Carey and Stone for problems
I think they need Jerry Manual to create a zen like state and improve the chemistry. Baker is the wrong guy for this team and the last guy I'd have allowed around a young pitching staff. So to the Tribune Company, I offer a

Rogue Waves
Jim, what would have caused it to propel itself to the bottom? I thought the main theory was the bow and stern being lifted at the same time by different waves and the load weight causing the ship to crack in half. Would a bow full of water have caused the damage cited?

9/11 Flight 93 Penn Crash
Yes, I agree. Some already know, those that believe the terrorists nose dived into terrain. Those that believe any other version, will never know.

9/11 Flight 93 Penn Crash
Steff, I believe there was a struggle, that what they heard was real, they did attack the hijackers and tried to take over the plane. Beemer yelled Let's Roll, and whatever. Before of during that, Bush made a decision that when the plane reached the last uninhabited area on their path it was going to be shot down if it clearly wasn't in "friendly hands".
