But that's what made the story so great for the US public. We had a hero in all this. We could believe that we could fight back and even win. Without his story, and who knows, both stories may be true. While passengers were attacking the cockpit (sure that's a fun word) a missle was heading their way.

I'm not a conspiracy buff by any stretch of the imagination. I just look at the map, realize, like everyone else, that this plane was not landing with wheels down at an airport, and believe our government made the decision to shoot it down. They needed a story better than Bush ordered American's killed. They had a ready made hero. If in fact we did shoot down Flight 93, fiction may have done more to help us heal than reality. Imagine if we believed the afternoon of 9/11 that Bush had to order the deaths of innocent Americans. Post 9/11 would have been even bleaker than it already was. It would only have taken one solo pilot in a fighter to bring it down.

What do you consider their weak spot? Confidence and knowing how to win seem like the intangibles that I have to give them the edge.

I'm with you there. It's a great cover story. When I heard how we scrambled fighter planes when that Governor's plane wasn't communicating, I was convinced even more. Even the location was either very lucky or . . .

But not as far as those that go out of the way to cry about him. Sox fans are so fixated on one guy. Amazing. I'm the only one who doesn't care about him. I'm embarrased by this. I feel like Sox fans turn into whining children at Marriotti's name. Mommy! Jay's calling me names , make him stop! Ignoring him is the only way to make him go away. Elo wins go down, MB wins go up, even from last year. We needed to replace Colon and we did (finally). Garland has improved from last season. We are starting to get some help from the #5 spot. All in all, I think we are ahead of last season in the starting rotation. I'd like to have kept Flash. I think our bullpen is down a bit for long relief and set up, better at closer. You can never have too much pitching, but there are not many staffs I would trade lock, stock, and barrel for. (whatever the hell that means, and I'll bet someone here knows)

How anyone can logically think that the entire US population isn't somehow to blame surprises me. The US has never prepared for something of this magnitude. Adminstrations dating back 15-20 years can be blamed. Some people like to point out how Clinton would conduct poll after poll and do whatever would make him popular, or what the citizens want. Do you think we we held hands and sung God Bless America after the Cole and other attacks that he wouldn't have welcomed the opportunity to start a war? We've been transfering power for hundreds of years, if Bush couldn't put together a team in 9 months then he's even worse than some Dems believe. We, as citizens, are the government.
