'Rogue waves' reported by mariners get scientific backing . . . more at link
  2. s***, they just keep rolling along. I feel a little better when I compare schedules, but this could be a fight all the way.
  3. Iowa is great for these types of events. I rasn several roadraces in Des Moines and a couple other cities and loved them every time.
  4. This is so f***ing predictable. Once a week we have a thread Jay said ______________________, what an asshole. He praises the Sox, he's an asshole. He rips the drunks, he's an asshole. :headshake
  5. I don't see how Bin Laden needed state sponsored help. He didn't use any complicated or advanced weaponry to take over the planes, he didn't hack into any intelligence agencies to get his men on the planes. He even used US flight schools to train his "pilots". He placed a couple dozen men in the US. Paid for their flight schools, bought box cutters at Ace Hardware, bought plane tickets, and pissed off a nation. What makes it so terrifying is how simple and cheap it really was.
  6. I guessed 5 days. Sounds about right. Next time it will double.
  7. I'm happier, I was stuck between X PLay and Family Guy

I wonder how many other Ken's were 5 day winners under the old format.

Amazing. He's just f*cking with the other contestants. Bet only $10,000 in final Jeopardy to tie the one day record. LMAO. What's next, "hey Alex wanna change spots today? I'm a little tired."
  10. Dibs just agreed that Red Rover was a sport. It features offense and defense.
  11. Or in South Texas. Down here there are three options. Install a whole house Reverse Osmosis filter, have water delivered, or fill them yourself at several different vendors. Basically water filter kiosks. I have a home water cooler for cooking and drinking water. This past week, in the Davis Mountains of West Texas, I drank directly from a spring, at the exact point it bubbled from the ground. It is the finest, best tasting water in the universe.
  12. If he shuts down Wrigley, even for one game, he earns it all back :fthecubs
  13. Wow, the two Texans, Kap and I, have combined for over 110,000 posts
  14. I'm not as worried about the catcher situation. As long as every starter likes who they are throwing to, I think it will work. Offense is a nice bonus, but probably not a necessity on this team. You can never have too many arms. It's not like last year when something really had to be done. I like this team, just wish we were a little healthier.

Kind of like if you can remember the 60's you didn't live in the 60's
  16. No, it's all part of the same problem. We are stating on one hand that salespeople have a moral responsibility to judge the economic condition of the person in front of them, and only take as much money as the person wants to give, especially if the person appears homeless. Hello and welcome to McDonalds, before you order, may I see your net worth statement? You appear homeless and should be buying fresh food at Jewel, not overpriced fats and sugars at McDonalds. God help the McDonald's clerk that asks if he wants fries with that. That would be asking for more money than he wants to spend. On the other hand we are saying that the same homeless person that must be protected from solicitors asking for $2, should be allowed to fend for themselves. That seems wrong to me. If we have people in our society that cannot make a $2 decision, they should be given some help and not left to fend for themselves. They are incapable of surviving.
  17. I thought it was changed after the Tiger's 2003 campaign You are correct, it is 60.
  18. I like Tony G. but would rather have Uribe/Harris I believe this team can win the A.L. as is. It will be a tough 6 gamer through NY, but could win the A.L.
  19. But not being capable of $2 decisions will keep them on the streets and I think society should be helping these people in whatever way necessary. I believe you meant threat to others
  20. Isn't the old phrase every team is going to win 40 and lose 40, it's what they do for the other 80 that determines where they finish?
  21. Am I the only one that thinks someone who is incapable of making a $2 decision should not be out on the streets? How will be able to get a job, pay rent, go to Wrigley?
  22. Yes, Prawn likes to play escaped prisoner and warden's wife
  23. My cat dumps bigger than that
  24. I'm surprised that 100% do not reboot. It's the very first solution. And it should be a cold reboot, not just a restart.
