Sometimes I think it is a curse to take that many wins into the post season, in any sport. Getting to the playoffs healthy, with a rested pitching staff, is far more important.

As fast as the Garcia extension went, I am certain the Sox knew, without tampering they could sign Garcia for a few more years. So I believe that should also be added into the total. I prefer Garcia + new contract and Carl over Randy. The prospects we traded this year for Carl basically saved us $6 or $7 million. I would have expected Carl to win in arbitration.
