To get them or to get rid of them??? lol I think it was great getting rid of both. Loaiza had much more success than Koch did here though.

I agree, the Marlins thought they could turn Billy around, and now they had to trade for Mota to get to Benitez. That move helped us free up space to get Garcia and Everett.

Talk about a no brainer. Botch was a liability on his best day with a big salary to boot. At least Loaiza contributed something to the team. A better poll would be to compare the Loaiza deal to the Garcia deal.

If we were still lying to ourselves that Koch was gonna be an effective closer for us, we would be looking up at Detroit in the standings. Maybe KC too.

If Koch was still here with us I don’t think we’d be above .500. The guy was on pace of blowing a dozen of saves. Every time I saw him on the mound I knew we were in for something crazy. That Seattle game was when I lost 100% control and wanted Koch to get the hell out.

Koch both times. We got Cotts and Valdez thanks to Koch.

Anything that gets rid of Koch is a good trade.

Koch trade by far. We even got something useful for him. Meanwhile, the Twins gave up an All-Star first baseman for a single A pitcher with a history of arm problems.

I knew from day one that was gonna bad trade. Kw said that he traded foulke to get a strike out pitcher and the funny thing is foulke has a better k/9 throughtout is career.

Koch has not done overly bad with the marlins a 3.60 era in 20 innings.

That is deceptive though. I remember seeing a couple of highlights that Koch was walking people/getting singles hit off of, and Benitez had to bail him out. If Koch would have still continued some innings when he left in, his era would be like 4.80+

2. lowisa trade

3. koch trade

It's too early to tell on either front. Both have the potential to be great. As of this moment we can say the Koch trade is better. Time will tell.

how can you say that the koch trade is better then the garcia trade? koch was addition by subtraction but we havent seen anything other then that on the major leauge level, that SS prospect is doin good in AAA but that dosent mean anything... on the other hand garcia is what, 5 and 2... maybe 5 and 1? i have to go with that as the best trade right now... lowisa looks better then koch too

Koch by a mile. I'm glad we got rid of both though. We got some nice pieces in return. Plus, we freed up some money.
