I remember when games had to be on OTA stations or fans complained.

Usually I don't believe it should be anyone's business other than the parties involved in the contract. If individuals don't hire an attorney and understand the contract it shouldn't be up to a third party to intervene. But feeding incoming freshman to the wolves doesn't seem right either. But implementing a rule that perhaps limits NIL rights to their college career only and strips the athlete of eligibility if they sign for post college would protect that, but limit the money the player could be earning. Anyway it's exciting to watch the transformation. It takes away a chunk of enjoyment I received from college athletics, but it is great for the kids and that's really what matters. It won't make a difference for my high school athletes but we have a couple kids on campus who could be cashing some checks. Now they need a way for all college athletes to share, not just the revenue sport stars.

If you accept the theory that closers can't pitch in the 8th inning like Kimbrel last year then it stands to reason there are some guys like Bummer playing out of position. But yes it's a joke.

That's how we fix Bummer. He needs to pitch in the 9th. He just can't get up for 8th inning no matter how high the leverage.

Love it. Texas boosters are going to change the landscape. I can't imagine Texas boosters being outbid for some kid. Love corporations also making money off these kids instead of just the universities. I'm hoping advertisers stop buying ads with national media and go all in on these partnerships. If Lambo made a truck that could tow 8,000 pounds of I'd consider it for my next vehicle. The real smart move is for the NFL and NCAA to partnership and each NFL team sponsors a university team with the NFL team being allowed to protect a certain number from the draft. The super conference it would create would actually make more, not less, universities competitive. How about. Chevy dealer supplying cars and apple pies to the baseball team? The lesser sport athletes won't be helped, but welcome to a free market.

Thank you G7. As an improv actor doing a show with a lot of audience participation it is currently something we don't talk about. I guess we believe the likelihood is very remote. Plus, since the venues we play in typically serve alcohol were not carrying. It's been years since a tennis player or Olympic figure skater has been attacked so maybe these are passing fads. Hopefully whatever profession they pick next won't be yours.

X2 Of course there is the real possibility that Dallas' career is over and he should retire. That he'll never be a MLB pitcher again. Looking at the options today IMHO him returning to something close to his former self is as likely or unlikely as the other options being a reliable 5th starter. So keep running him out there and hope for the best. I'd like to know what people are seeing in Cueto that makes them believe he'd be as good or better. I believe he has one more "who cares what his stats are he's getting ready start" then he's got to get some outs in AAA to be considered for a rotation spot.

Makes it seem deliberate by the ump. Are ump fines and disciplines made public? I can't really remember one but certainly there has to be times it was warranted.

I didn't pick that up the first time I saw it, but now that you pointed it out I see it. Madison didn't confirm the longer check and stare down but at least one article hints there may have been something earlier that fueled the confrontation. I think we all agree when umpires are center stage there is a problem. I understand hand checking by feel not appearance but don't stare the guy down especially after he gave up a home run.

When I was coaching soccer we dealt with a lot of bruises. The standard protocol our trainers followed was monitor for signs of worsening for 72 hours. While most kept getting better, it wasn't uncommon for there to be increasing pain and discomfort especially around joints.

Excellent point. Odd or another example of an inept franchise? With the NFL the rules are very strict on reporting injuries. It seems that baseball isn't as concerned about the gamblers and opponents who really need that information. If we want to be optimistic it could be they hide it to not give their opponents any useful information. It's perhaps better opponents have to factor in Vaughn potentially pitch hitting instead of knowing he's unavailable. But that's giving Tony and Co some credit for actually having a strategy.
