  1. To be fair you've said that about everyone.
  2. There must be another one from when the deal was actually announced but I couldn't find it.
  3. I bumped the thread from 2019 but locked it. There may be another one, but I couldn't find it. Parkman for the win on this one.
  4. Bump. Misty water colored memories of be the way we were.
  5. I really wish he was able to regain his earlier form. I wish him all the best.
  6. @bmags he has managed to stay healthy enough to continue playing. I'm applauding that now. With so many players not being able to play a full season, him playing an extra decade is remarkable.
  7. Bunting isn't that easy.
  8. If Tony was Coaching Part 3 - switching teams. 1988 and two Hall of Fame Managers, Tommy and Tony, switch dugouts. Wait "Tony is calling Gibson back to the dugout. Leury Garcia will be hitting in his place." Weak grounder to second. A's win!

The joy of Kindle unlimited is if I'm not into a book it's easy enough to return and check out something else. I'll look it up. Thank you.
  10. Granville Waiters. Big lead, with a couple minutes to go, the chants would start. Biggest cheers if he scored.

Preventative maintenance saves you headaches and money. Water is your enemy. Avoid making holes in anything that keeps water out like your roof. Don't clutter. Empty spaces is fine. You're bank account will thank you. The house won't feel too small. It will be easier to maintain. I love @Kyyle23 comment. Make it yours. Pick a trade and become an expert. Electric, plumbing, carpentry, doesn't matter which one. Once you master one the next one is easy. Congratulations. Generational wealth starts with a home.
  12. Stand up for your racist coworker? No fucking way. I don't care if it's a corner bodega, a Fortune 500 company, or a baseball team, that crap shouldn't be tolerated anywhere. I have respect for Boone and Judge for being decent human beings.
  13. If Tony was Coaching: Part 2 June 11th, 1997 Tony is coaching in the NBA playoffs. "He's sick. Bad pizza or the flu. Michael Jordan will be resting tonight. We just signed Leury Garcia, a six year old phenom, to start in his place."
  14. From time to time I've looked at players with piles of glittery stats and dismissed them by claiming they were really just average but benefited from playing a long time. I've changed my opinion. Staying healthy and playing a couple decades in MLB is a great accomplishment and those players should be given more respect, even HoF worthy respect.
  15. That he was punished one game is testimony both to have far we've come and how far we still have to go.

I'm starting to put together my summer reading list. I need a series or two that's in Kindle Unlimited plus were hitting up Half Price Books for a hundred bucks worth of my paperbacks.
  17. If he played for Tony no one outside Baltimore would remember Cal Ripken. I'm wondering what player has played the most consecutive games for Tony and if the number is greater than 40.
  18. Ironically I just read Limited-time deal: The Locker Room: How Great Teams Heal Hurt, Overcome Adversity, and Build Unity https://www.amazon.com/dp/111989784X/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_dl_D9Y5MGZ4TKXVWPF60PD1 Great read about overcoming prejudice and racism. The authors' assertion is America needs to be more like a locker room with people coming together.
  19. Some may think this is a sarcastic suggestion but I'm serious. Now imagine being the developmental team for an NBA franchise. The player signs a deal with the franchise, get paid, and the team retains the rights for x years. They may exercise those rights if the player develops. Let's have the businesses that make the most money from these athletes pay the most. And I'm still shocked that universities haven't been allowed to pay players directly. The universities are the ones earning the most, they should be paying the most
  20. Pro teams need to sponsor college athletics. Instead of a minor league system pay kids to play college ball. In football you'd have greater parity with each NFL team funneling players to different schools. Hell imagine if the Bears were bankrolling Northwestern or U of I? In baseball it could replace A or AA.
  21. I told myself before the season started this was a third place team. But that damn start got me excited.
  22. Good night y'all
  23. It's crazy how individualized it is.
  24. It was more of it being Wednesday plus some stuff I had to deal with earlier. Didn't need more stress in my life lol
