  1. I am glad you took it in the spirit it was intended
  2. I just thought of something. No wonder this team was so messed up last year. They have to be told to go get drunk!? Man, they are worse off than I thought.
  3. AFter the loss yesterday, I had to switch from green to yellow, but the yellow was too much. I expect to switch to green before long. It's by avatar that really bugs me. I haven't found one I really like, and that is how I scan most threads. What is funny is over time, I expect people to look like their avatars, I swear cwsox must look like Eminem or I'll be confused Of course that is not true in your case I heard the story on the radio and knew I had to share it. It tok a few minutes to find the link. Amazing, a woman in Mexico gives birth this way and a Journal in London reports about it. Would that have been possible 25, 50, 100 years ago?
  4. Link here
  5. That is a couple hundred miles, two dams, and a corps of engineers flood control plain northwest of me. We have been through so many years of drought that any rain has the potential to be deadly. In some areas the ground is so dried out it effectivly acts like concrete. Very sad for the loss of life. Part of the problem is in these colonias the roads are so poor that after even a small rain, they are impassable. So people get trapped who cannot run.
  6. And these cases started long before that cow as discovered.

Much of it comes in the way of incentives to move to a new location (enterprise zones), to employ certain groups of people (welfare to work programs), being aggressive in taking write offs, etc. Corporations pay on profits. If you are able to shield you profits from Uncle Sam, you win. Take for example a company with operations in the US and Ecuador. They do most or all of their manufacturing in Ecuador. Were should they report their profits? For example, does the Ecuador company sell the item to their US entity for the actual price to manufacture, effectivly showing zero Ecuador profit or do they take a markup when it goes to the US, lowering the US profit? Teams of accountants determine the best ratio to use to maximize the corporate bottom line profits. If you happen to be a shareholder in that company you applaud their results.
  8. Scary to be a soldier in Iraq This seems to be getting worse. And we are there to help them?!

I thought getting government out of the private sector and letting them grow was a republican idea? Didn't businesses hire more people with those tax savings? Didn't that spark the economic boom of the Clinton years?
  10. PLus all these people were hanging out at a bad race track.
  11. I was wondering who would follow the link. I wonder if the brothers had a conversation about this?
  12. OMG, isn't that part of doomsday prediction I liked the new order. Frank got the 2nd inning rally going. Kong Sandy Mark Lotsa good from the offense, too bad the pen was equally offensive
  13. The rest of the story
  14. I think we need to remember FlaSoxxJim's Elvis signatures
  15. I have an idea to change it, just not enough time and talent to make it happen.
  16. At least OZ didn't say to call a California Lab and get some 'roids, or fire up the crack pipe Shall we play, "what would JM have said"?
  17. Steff is correct, I wish the newspapers had not of reported that.
  18. All these alegations causes me to stop and think how lucky the Sox are to have Frank. I have never heard any hints that he is, or ever was on steroids.
  19. I thought you meant Joe Randa It was a tragedy on an enormous scale. Still, how many places can we be? The world always looks to the US, then demonsrates against us when we act. Plus, this started so fast, it would have been nearly impossible at the time to put together a large enough force to put down the fighting. I will probably go to hell for asking this but . . . Is there a formula for when the US should be involved? Is one US death to save one foreign death worth it? One US death to save five? 25? I do not know. I do know I am sick of solving the world's problems, only to see US servicemen drug through the streets of some s*** hole. Sometimes other people have to act.
  20. Great bit by Steve Martin. I think I have it on vinyl somewhere

Isn't the theory you reduce the burden on companies so they hire more people who pay taxes . . .
  22. Quick trade him I'm kidding. I am really pulling for Kong to return to form.
  23. :puke Sad, very sad. You would think we would be happy that a modern day player, someone we watched play, is reaching another milestone. Instead, :puke
