  1. I didn't have a problem with Getz starting off with offers that include both players. It's where they end up that matters. There are three outcomes, only one is bad. The return is greater than just Crochet by himself. Very unlikely, but it doesn't hurt to start from this position. If he doesn't start from a big win, he'll never win or break even. The return is about the same, which is a win for Getz. The return is less that what Crochet would get on his own, which is a loss for Getz and what most folks fear based on decades of Sox deals.

@wegner are you doing the risotto on the stove top? With all the other dishes I can't imagine standing there for forty minutes cooking the risotto. Which by the way, I'm a huge fan of.

    Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
  4. Ok Boston, remember you need a follow up hit.
  5. As far as Vaughn, some prospects just don't work out. Was it a bad draft pick, poor coaching, or maybe it was something he did or didn't do. We'll never know.
  6. I'm not joking. How have young players are we going to rush their development because we don't have anyone else? He's easy to root for.
  7. https://www.soxon35th.com/report-jose-abreu-drawing-interest-from-mlb-teams-deal-imminent/ If we're going to lose, let's lose with guys that play hard and are likable. Eventually he should be allowed to sign a one day contract if he wants and retire as a White Sox.
  8. Yes, he was a player. Wait, did you mean baseball?
  9. Going from a single payer to dozens requires a bigger infrastructure for billing, collecting, and tracking. With the number of current posters, plus knowing some will drop, the amount necessary for the remaining posters to pay would not be sustainable.
  10. Technically isn't this another rebuild?
  11. So Nicky is doing the walk of shame. I like it.
  12. The Sox are the ugly guy at closing time. We get the drunks and the really hard up.
  13. It's probably more like Bezos is willing to put together a syndicate of people willing to back a portion of the bank loans to buy the team. Doesn't the NBA show VC firms as well?
  14. Crazy that such incompetent owners made so much money owning the Sox.
  15. Every team fills with guys like this. We just put a microscope on these because it's all we really have. If you are a Dodger fan you think he'll never see the MLB team. We have to look and figure out how he fits in Chicago.
  16. This one was self inflicted by the player Todd Von Poppel. David Clyde was screwed by the team to sell tickets.
  17. I'm less inclined for a change than I was six months ago. I think he's having a good of season reimagining the organization. Now we'll see if he's hiring good people to fill those spots.
  18. Preventing that three run loss from being a blow out isn't worth spending assets
  19. Wow! Getz is advancing this organization into the 21st Century.
  20. I wish there was a reasonable expectation that we could get someone better.
  21. I thought you could sign more than one.
  22. This would be a footnote in a successful franchise season. For us, it's meat and potatoes.
  23. Yes. If he had selected baseball first, or basically any sport, he would have been successful. But only basketball could he achieve goat status. At 31 there wasn't enough time.
  24. Soon we'll be able to burn our own. They will replace mix tapes
