Take a deep breath and look at the calendar. We have one more slump to go through before the post season.

KC after a visit from the Sox
You are the coolest! You are the man! If I was 1600 miles closer I would buy you a beer!

Jerry deserves praise for last night
Let's see what it will take to see JM next season in the Sox dugout. Miss playoffs? See ya. Adios. No chance to see Spring in Chicago. Sell the house. Playoff spot? Slim chance but maybe to save money . . . First round win? Very good chance ALCS? Excellent chance WS Loss? Hell we'll have a parade and annoint him the biggest thing since Da Coach WS Win? Rename Michigan Avenue.

Carl Everett...I'm calling you out.
See how s*** will dog you forever. I get all the Ranger and Astros coverage down here and Carl was a model citizen for the Rangers. In some cases, like Carl and Robbies you have to give the guy a break. In other's throw the book and make it stick :sosasucks

anyone see this hail?
There were local reports of a cloud in South McAllen but so far no confirmation. 100 degrees with about a 20% humidity today. If you would like a personalized McAllen Texas weather report cut and paste the folloiwng line for the next 75 days Today it will be Sunny with a high between 100 and 105 degrees with a Southeast wind of 12-15 mph as I said repeat for months on end. My last Schaumburg office was at Algonquin and 53 and I was living in Wheeling right off Willow. I hated days like today knowing my 20 minute commute was going to be double that. Crawl down 53, stop 3 times at every light on Willow. . .

Have we forgotten life before Carl?

Hawks Haircut By Mark Buehrle
Just wondering how many announcers spend time in the clubhouse? For some reason I never invisioned Jack Brickhouse hanging around the shower.

Killa, In the immortal words of that great rock superstar Meatloaf 2 out of 3 aint bad. Seems that in recent memory JM isn't up to 2 out of three. Hell even KW can boast 2 out of 3. Even a blind dog finds an acorn from time to time. At this point he's the guy for 2003. Too late to make a change and it probably wouldn't help. I can't believe I'm thinking it may hurt the team to make a switch at this time.

Iwo Jima Memorial. The original happens to sit in Harlingen Texas at the Marine Military Acadamy. Changed it on the fourth of July and haven't dared switch to something else. I'm getting superstitous.

M's getting bitchy
Of course we know about Detroit sweeps except we were being hit by the brooms not sweeping. Notice how the really good teams get the job done against weaker teams.

B & B doing "the Hawk" on 670
Being that I have to "watch" the games on mlb.com I get Hawk for about 1/2 the games. Nothing worse tha listening to a Sox loss with out of town announcers. I heard Hawk say he picked up the YES! from his daughter. Love that stuff. He may be a hall of fame announcer before his career is finished. He's about 1000% better at that than as a GM.

Hawks Haircut By Mark Buehrle
Anyone know why Hawk made this bet? Was it on the air or just around the club house? Perhaps is response to Pinellas hair coloring?

Sox are 15-1 to win the Series
Shortest odds in the division.

Health Check
Looking over the season with Sandy and Kelly back we seem healthy and ready to play. Any questions about Konerko seem to be answered and I guess Billy is the only question mark and that is speculation trying to figure out his drop in velocity. It's looking good on that front.

I was thinking the same thing. Of course they are coming off a sweep also.

Best Right Feilder in Chicago
Don't drop me from the board but to be honest I would take either guy and be happy. Sammy bloomed late when he added some bulk and strength. Maggs is much better earlier. Still with Sammy we are talking a lot of home runs. I do wish during one of his hops his shoes would get tangled and he would do a face plant I really can't say he sucks on the field or at bat.

Pulling for Billy
Not just Koch but the whole pen has me holding my breath. I couldn't watch the game last night and just saw updates on ESPN but with a 2 run lead in the 8th I figured we were ripe for catching. If we had Smoltz I would have broken out the broom then. To make a run we need a couple guy at a time getting hot and hope September is good to us. Not looking too far ahead but our schedule isn't the best from here on in.

The rest of the season
The Royals have battled back a couple times this season after being written off. No reason to believe they will not do it again and stay in the race. The Twins have never made a move but expect at least one like we are in the middle of to bring them within the pack. We have proven the ability to crash at times against inferior teams (Tigers). We need to keep beating teams in our division and holding our own against the rest. To me it's still a three team race with 10-12 games over .500 possibly winning the division.
