How about this to churn the stomach acid . . . last game of the season, one run lead going into the ninth, must win, and JM calls for his closer . . . Freddy and Jason are less scary.

Am I the only one that would love to trade him for Mariotti? Objective is nice, but give me a nice dose of homer from time to time. Tell me this Sox team really can win the division. Don't tell me we have almost no bullpen and our manager flips a coin or calls the psychic hotline to figure out what to do.

Our closer situation is better for beer sales than any commercial ever devised. As soon as we get in the 9th with a small 8 run lead my stomache begins to churn and I have to reach for a beer. Flush, Botch, or Marte at this point is like lethal injection, hanging, or firing squad. Couple of things I like to see from a closer. Hmmm, actually closing down the other team would be nice. Not falling behind in every count. Not putting a couple runners on to make it interesting. Not grooving a fastball and staring at the sky as it is launched deep into the stands. JM, pick a closer between Marte and Flash and let them close. No 40+ pitches. Have him close. Let everyone know who the man is, treat him like your guy and let's go. If it's both let the guys know don't use a Quiji board to figure it out.

I'm not exactly a JM fan but imagine trying to manage with this f***ed up bullpen. I'm holding my breath with a 4 run lead. I don't believe we can close out anyone at anytime. If someone doesn't step up before too long we may be sucking wind at the end. Honestly is anyone comfortable with our pen and a 3 run lead? 5 run lead? 7 run lead?

Being that I have to "watch" the games on mlb.com I get Hawk for about 1/2 the games. Nothing worse tha listening to a Sox loss with out of town announcers. I heard Hawk say he picked up the YES! from his daughter. Love that stuff. He may be a hall of fame announcer before his career is finished. He's about 1000% better at that than as a GM.

Anyone know why Hawk made this bet? Was it on the air or just around the club house? Perhaps is response to Pinellas hair coloring?
