  1. Finished it for you. Every mention of Nick should include phrases like "Often injured", "delicate", and "unlucky", "rehabbing", "unreliable". I hope he has a great career, but if they traded for him, this board would hate the move pointing out his injury history and how we need guys to stay healthy to compete.
  2. Right field is going to be an equally exciting signing. My hope is Kimbrel rebounds to the point he'll bring someone at the deadline.
  3. Next step, full platoon.
  4. All of us here. It's the NL snobs that are mourning the loss of those "strategic moves".
  5. National league fans will have to figure out another time to take a piss and buy a beer.
  6. And hasn't been for one hundred years* *With a couple notable exceptions.
  7. At one point they were actually good hitters.
  8. As a playoff team I hope we don't improve too much and the non playoff teams sign the best available talent to improve the competitive balance of the league. See how that eases any angst? We want teams below us to get better.

  10. He's an idiot. Not a good time to be selling merch.
  11. I like it, especially if it brings back regularly scheduled double headers.
  12. Since it doesn't really affect Manfred, cancelling games isn't a problem. Maybe when the owners figure out what's been going on it will change.
  13. Good points.
  14. They have hundreds of millions invested. Companies worth billions. Hand pick a commissioner they all agree on. Then don't get involved in the strategy.
  15. Also, the increasing value of the franchise. Most won't make the real money on until they sell.
  16. That's what I go thought an hour ago. Now I'm starting to think Manfred is running the show and the owners aren't really involved at all. You would think with billion dollar companies they would care and be involved but apparently not.
  17. To be replaced by a similar puppet. Kuhn was the last semi talented commissioner that at least pretended to care about something other than ownership. I wish a new plan with more player input in the commissioner office was possible
  18. How's this, the entire ownership team sucks.
  19. I agree. So why aren't owners asking those questions?
  20. Balta convinced me here as well.
  21. I agree with Balta.
  22. So what would the owners have done on their own?
  23. This is 100% on the owners. They can't hide behind their hand picked commissioner who works for them. He didn't just lock out players and refuse to negotiate on his own. He's not trying to bridge a deal. He's a cardboard cutout the owners want to hide behind.
