You fully participated in the event of our lifetime. I'm glad it was minor.

Gift Haul - Whatcha get?
Making memories. Greatest gift of all.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
So players would walk away from their careers? I admire their willingness to sacrifice themselves like that.

Five years? That means many of the players will never play another game. I'm not certain there is that much unity.

He had so much fun announcing, and never seemed to take himself seriously. People forgot what a great coach he was.

I'm trying to decide if you are serious.

The Bears should wait and have the pick of New Year leftovers. Think any teams are waiting for Nagy to become available?

IIRC didn't Cam Newton and Vince Young have pretty good rookie years? It really seems like years three and four are the pivotal years.

I wonder if college quarterbacks pray they don't get drafted by the Bears.

Gift Haul - Whatcha get?
Probably the gift I didn't know I needed but love is a wifi enabled photo frame. I'm loving my kids adding pictures. I'm going to get one for my parents. Close behind that my son has gradually outfitted my PC with high end peripherals and I'm back to using it more. The gift I gave that I feel the best about was setting up an investment account for my son and his partner. He needed a nudge in that direction because they decided not to buy a home and they were basically just saving a little bit. It sounds more morbid than it actually is but I have a list of things to do so I can die happy. Seeing that he's financially secure helps with that. His partner said she was equally happy because she is the saver and he's the spender.

All it takes is them getting lucky with one good hire at or near the top and things could turn around. I'm hoping they clean house. It seems like there is at least enough talent there to compete for a playoff spot next year. Depending on what other changes are made, this seems like a better than average opportunity for a coach to step in to. The team underperformed this season, so just getting up to where they should be will look good. They have youth in a few spots that could make a bigger impact just from gaining one more year of experience. But based on history there won't be a HoF caliber coach begging for an interview at Halas Hall. I would have my doubts that a guy with *only* college experience will be successful turning around the locker room.

Exactly what I was saying. I’m just pessimistic that the next one will be any better.

Oh god no, he needs to move on. Actually everyone including George should go. Your post made it look like Nagy is the worst coach of George’s era and actually he’s the best that Geo hired. As sad as that is.

Great, have him design vacation homes for the family and hire someone with better luck.

X2 I wish George had kept his word and stayed out of way.

I'm missing your point. Sad as it is the Nagy years are the best stretch since George took over. (unless you give him credit for 2012 and call that an era) This may be as good as it gets under him. Why didn't Virginia marry or raise real football guys?

It doesn't. In my lifetime he is the third best head coach of the Bears. So I'm not expecting much from the next hire.

It's terrible by most franchise standards. With the Bears, it's not far from normal. But as bad as Nagy is this year, he has one of the highest winning percentages of Bear's head coaches in our lifetime.

If you're thinking the Bears are really bad at hiring Head Coaches, then it is making the point. I can almost forgive their lack of ability in drafting quarterbacks, but their ineptness at hiring head coaches is astounding.
